Netflix deal is over

  • Both decided a statement won’t be released “Publicly, there will not be a statement and of course, if things change dramatically, they’d be open to a one-off project down the line.”
  • Talk about Paramount plus

It’s been pretty obvious for a while. No talk about the Archewell productions arm, the film they were making etc.

How long can As ever last when they won’t have NF to back it up with WLM infomercials.

What is the relevance? Make your points by referring to the subject of the thread. We all have eyes to see that M and H are not frugal unless it's coming out of their own pockets.

Because they said its weird if you reuse things owned by someone else previously. So I wsnt to know if fhe OP themselves only buys brand new or does in fac buy second hand and therefore is weird themselves. Thats the relevance

It's not about how money is spent. Imagine how hurtful it must be for H that M had the ring remodelled, after she had told the world in the engagement interview that he designed it and that the stones were from Africa. The only reasonable conclusion to draw is that she is a prize cow.

Oh like most.marriahes they talked about it and he isn't hurt and fine with it. You dont know your making shit up. Lots of people chnahe the design of their rings and their partners are okay with it.

Lainygossip quick off the mark today about the Netflix cancellation.

Thought the final paragraph was interesting

"Of course, the unofficial official line here is “no hard feelings” but let me tell you, there are absolutely some hard feelings behind the scenes. In Emma’s podcast, Meghan consistently mentioned her relationship with Netflix’s CCO and how she can call up anyone at Netflix at any time to talk about her project. To pull an Oprah: did they stop taking Meghan’s calls, or did Meghan stop calling?"

The reason why her garden is outdated is because of the huge water pressures in California has reshaped garden design.

New garden design uses the native plants that are able to cope in the area, without the need for huge amounts of very precious water.

In addition, these designs can also act as a useful barrier to any fires, with the increase in use of gravel and stone. Weve already seen the devastation fires in the area can bring and how precious water is there.

So that’s why her garden is outdated and that’s why many homes have adopted this new style.

Glad I could help you out.

So is she being wasteful or not? Decide? I’d say it’s pretty wasteful to add more diamonds to ring that already has huge stones.

The reason why she has a time warp house and garden, is because they can’t afford to refit.

Edited

Yet you want her to be wasteful and rip out a perfectly good kitchen and throw away pans just cause someone else owned them....so you are calling her wasteful for adding diamonds to her ring but then have a pop at her for not buying new pots and pans. So why dont you decide what is wasteful cos your the one having a pop at another woman and how she decides to spend her money.

And you don't know what they can or can't afford you are speculating they cant based on fuck all evidence quite frankly.

Here is the full Lainey gossip article for those interested, the tides have turned.

"How this information came to be is interesting: I first read about it in PEOPLE, which picked up the story from the Sun. I’m much more inclined to believe PEOPLE, which has been a friendly source for the Sussexes since they moved to the US, rather than the Sun, which is out of the UK. But PEOPLE wouldn’t run this and risk their relationship with Team Sussex unless they were sure it was true. Page Six has also followed up, saying more shows are coming but the deal is winding down.

Typically, these kinds of deals are reported in Deadline, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter or TVLine – trades that have deep inside contacts. The pipeline of information here is interesting and makes me think the Sussexes weren’t quite ready to have this story go public.

Is this split expected? I think so. After a lot of press, With Love, Meghan didn’t crack the top 300. Yesterday, I wondered what the strategy would be to attract a larger audience for season two and it turns out, there is no strategy.
Listening to Meghan on Emma Grede’s podcast (which I wrote about here), it’s clear that Meghan is passionate but consistently falls back on being inexperienced and learning as she goes. Sure, everyone is always learning in big roles. But at some point, you need to produce. And when does that point come for Meghan? Harry didn’t help much with Polo, which had abysmal ratings.

This is playing out a lot like their Spotify deal: a big idea, a big contract, big headlines, but the content doesn’t quite hit. The truth is their biggest hits were Spare andHarry & Meghan, the documentary. The Oprah interview is a pop culture moment. But separate their story from the British royal family and the interest in their work on the television side is not consistent.

There might be curiosity and of course their die-hard fans, but that hasn’t sustained their projects. Meghan still has her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, and breaking down this whole deal would make for a fascinating season but that requires transparency, insightfulness and messiness, not the usual themes she leans on for public appearances.

Two things come into play here: all entertainment companies are looking for the bottom line and Netflix is no different. It’s not like the Sussexes were cut a $100 million check on the spot; these deals are built to be paid out in increments, over many years. So Netflix ran the numbers and it wasn’t worth it. Netflix doesn’t need a big name anymore; Netflix IS the big name.

Second: making a good TV show, or a podcast, or a film is really really f-cking hard. (Goop’s TV show didn’t find an audience and look how much interest GP generates.) Over the last decade, we’ve been conditioned into thinking “content” is the same as quality programming and it’s not.

Then there’s the As ever product line, which is still out of stock. It’s actually ridiculous to treat your paying customers like lemmings who need to line up for crepe mix. Netflix was also a partner in the product line (which is why some of the suppliers, like the tea company) overlap and that needs to be untangled, which certainly won’t help with getting products out the door. She was talking to Emma about fashion or beauty when the jam is still on backorder.

They don’t have a NF contract, let go of lots of staff and live in a 2003 time warp.

The money is long gone.

Maybe they can use those precious pans that you seem very invested in, to go panhandling and bring in the cash.

The tides have most definitely turned. Even the biggest Sussex cheerleaders are distancing themselves. Which just leaves the hardline cultists.

Is that the equivalent of the disgraced politician stepping back in order to 'spend more time with his family'?

I’ll tell you what I get second hand. Second hand embarrassment from the weird posts and questions you put on here.

OP posts:
Mylovelygreendress · 23/07/2025 19:09

Could someone who understands the business world better than me explain how much of the reported ( although disputed) $100 million H and M would have received ? Is it the case that production costs would come out of that ?
Given their very expensive lifestyle , I wonder what they will do next ?
It’s all very entertaining !

Hahaha still not able to answer a pretty simple question. You have a pop at a woman calling her weird for reusing pans owned by someone else yet millions of people buy second hand items all the time. Are they all weird too? Why is this so hard to answer? Or should we never question what you post

I quite Like the kitchen. It’s cosy which seems a bit odd me saying as it’s quite large, I think it’s the rustic look.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 23/07/2025 19:31

I do think it’s strange that an apparent multi millionaire celebrity chooses to use second hand saucepans left from the previous owner and if I inherited some in my house from the previous owner I wouldn’t use them and would either give them to the charity shop or take them to the recycling centre, second hand pots and pans isn’t really Meghan’s MO so it does seem a bit odd.

Many people use second hand stuff and you're correct in saying that the saucepans look expensive and it would be a waste to throw them away.
Meghan , however, wears very expensive jewellery, wears expensive clothes and I know people can choose what they spend their money on but I wonder why she hasn't got her own saucepans. Maybe they were so desperate to get away, they didn't have time to pack their own stuff
Also , you have been asked questions many times that you haven't answered.

People are still interested in her .. she creates column inches .. him not so much anymore. He’s really become the spare now poor chap. I can’t see her staying beyond another five years .. she will move onto a tech bro or movie mogul as he won’t be able to provide the lifestyle she wants. They simply have no more secrets to sell and really the brand is last chance saloon but that’s all her.. she’s the one earning now and the only one with potential to earn

But in 5 years’ time she will be 50. In the shallow world of Hollywood and celebrity, that’s game over for all but a few.

And unfortunately the column inches she generates aren’t very prestigious nowadays - things are looking increasingly desperate.

Thedom · 23/07/2025 19:48

Some people just want to bury any discussion about another Sussex failure, even when it is a mega failure this time.
