Netflix deal is over

  • Both decided a statement won’t be released “Publicly, there will not be a statement and of course, if things change dramatically, they’d be open to a one-off project down the line.”
  • Talk about Paramount plus

It’s been pretty obvious for a while. No talk about the Archewell productions arm, the film they were making etc.

How long can As ever last when they won’t have NF to back it up with WLM infomercials.

Well you have to hand it to Meghan. She snared a Prince and an HRH title to boot. She achieved her goal. She won’t let go easily unless something way better comes along. But she could lose her title If she remarried so I don’t think she will.

Completely agree . Like Sarah , the title is everything .
Is there any truth in the rumours on X that Harry is still in Africa ?

Meghan certainly seems to have man appeal. She may look merely attractive to the normal observer, but clearly in person she can make certain men dance to her tune. Similarly Wallis Simpson: no looker, but she had the X Factor. I have a sort of friend like this - she does the hand on arm, “Tell me more about your job, Gordon, it sounds fascinating “ stuff and Gordon is strutting round like a peacock. I think Ted Sarandos got the Gordon treatment.

  1. Yes I did think it was you re the guest towels and
  2. I shall never not think of Ted other than Gordon Sarandos now. My neighbour is called Gordon but happily civil partner shipped up so all the doe eyes and the simpering in the world I could muster ( less than M) would not work on him in that sense. Luckily he is a nice man and waters my window boxes on a reciprocal agreement when either of us are away. & I get home made bread when I have watered their indoor plants.

There are people who are charismatic . Someone I knew met Bill Clinton once and said when he spoke to you , you felt special. & he's no oil painting. (But nor am I so not being snide there) 😂

But what has it brought her? The Prince is no great catch. The title is meaningless in the US. She has no power or influence of her own, and no access to people with power and influence. Wealth - possibly, but at the rate they're spending on legal costs and security they must be getting through it quite rapidly.

I can't believe that at the time of the Freedom Flight she anticipated that five and half years later she'd be flogging packet mixes and flower sprinkles. Or not flogging them, in fact.

DelectableMe · 29/07/2025 20:22

You're right, @HonoriaBulstrode . It was the most incredible opportunity, squandered. Think about how famous, wealthy and influential she could have been.

CoffeeCantata · 29/07/2025 20:24

Oooh yucky yuk….cringing at those awful self-consciously sexy pics of Meghan. She’s just ALWAYS acting. The closed-eye smile with her boyfriend(s) is so…studied.

Of all the actors I’ve read about and observed, Meghan is a phenomenon of emptiness , shallowness and self-obsession. It’s as if she’s learned nothing in her whole life except how to pretend and invested no time at all in developing personal interests, skills or wholesome relationships.

That doesn’t bother me personally …but I get really irritated that so many people seem to fall for it. So incredibly depressing.

ThePoshUns · 29/07/2025 20:34

Yes every facial expression is so fake and well practiced.

hoteltango · 29/07/2025 20:34

The mention of the late Queen's possible view of Meghan has reminded me that perhaps the wording of the royal consents to the marriages is indicative:

"Our Most Dearly Beloved Grandson Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales K.G. and Our Trusty and Well-beloved Catherine Elizabeth Middleton."

versus

"Our Most Dearly Beloved Grandson Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales, K.C.V.O., and Rachel Meghan Markle."

Sure, the Queen hadn't known Meghan very long, but she could have put something complimentary in about her if she had wanted.

Goodness. Do you think H noticed?

NewAgeNewMe · 29/07/2025 20:46

@hoteltango she knew. I never spotted that.

Yes - didn’t the Queen say ‘I suppose I shall have to agree’ when the question of royal consent for the wedding arose?

Hardly a ringing endorsement.

And he's a fox 😂

It is surprising just how easy it is to forget how very, very handsome he is.
I'm sure Amal is always having to remind people that George is quite easy on the eye too.

Ohpleeeease · 29/07/2025 22:04

Wasted on me @LaMarschallin . I am foxblind.

It was reported at the time that QEII gave her Privy Council exactly the same instruction in her request for an instrument of consent to be drawn up (with both brides just referred to by their names), and it was the Privy Council that varied the wording in the document once drawn up. It was also reported that the differences reflected the fact that Kate was a British citizen (so was traditionally dubbed “trusty and well-beloved”), and Meghan obviously was a US citizen, and didn’t qualify for this addition.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 29/07/2025 23:03

So as well as being Markled we now have being Gordoned! 😂

I suppose it would be interesting to look back at previous royal consents and how they were worded.

I think that's correct, amusing though it now appears in retrospect.

Agree. She’s isolated and a laughing stock. I can’t see that H would be much fun to live with either.

Well.. that’s the world we live in nowadays. Women in particular are being fed this notion of uniform sexiness which depends on looking like a Barbie doll with fake nails and hair, botoxed faces and fake everything. It’s just so depressing. What happened to feminism? Everything is for the ‘gram . No wonder there is an epidemic of depression. I know several retired people who are paying for therapy for their thirty something daughters . Young men are equally struggling in different ways. We live in a fake society and it’s much worse in America.

Also the RF knew Catherine well by that point. They hardly knew Meghan .

I agree. And (topic for a different thread really) it’s not just young women who are finding the 21st century overwhelming emotionally- 3 of my son’s old school friends have had what people used to call a breakdown, and need medication to cope with life. Personally I don’t believe humans are designed to cope with what life in 2025 expects of us.

Anyway! Meghan promoting herself as a feminist is deeply ironic since she’s a classic and embarrassing example of a woman who has used men to achieve her position in life. It really is a shameful list:

Daddy paid for the smart education - oh, and helped create the legend of theP & G letter, which is not at all what it appears to be.
Uncle got her a few weeks as an intern in that S American embassy.
First husband in the film industry- useful.
Then there was the chef, whom I assume must have been used in some way.
Prince Harry gave her titles, a massive clothes budget (until Charles realised she was taking the p) and the opportunity to lord it over practically everyone else.

Some feminist!

ThePoshUns · 30/07/2025 07:29

The chef was running one of the top restaurants in Canada) was it Vancouver they filmed suits? It was where the top people ate thus offering ‘connections’. Possibly how she met Jessica Mulroney. Are they still friends btw?

ThePoshUns · 30/07/2025 07:31

Notably all the men dumped when they ceased to be useful.
is Harry more useful as a husband or ex husband? More money to be made dishing the dirt on the ex and his family. Interesting to see her next strategic move.

Interesting. I think he's useful because he is a Prince, and has titles and money. I suspect he'll have more money to come.
She's got the all important titles and became royal. How she puts up with him though, I don't know.
