Netflix deal is over

  • Both decided a statement won’t be released “Publicly, there will not be a statement and of course, if things change dramatically, they’d be open to a one-off project down the line.”
  • Talk about Paramount plus

It’s been pretty obvious for a while. No talk about the Archewell productions arm, the film they were making etc.

How long can As ever last when they won’t have NF to back it up with WLM infomercials.

So he shares his diary so that the RF can avoid clashes, because his trip to Angola knocked Camilla’s 78th birthday celebrations off the front pages? (Is that something that would normally make the front pages?)

So in future years, if Harry has something planned on Camilla’s birthday, at least the RF will know in advance so that they can… what, move her birthday? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE

MummyJ12 · 27/07/2025 11:21

That article is an own goal if ever I saw one! It’s completely given him and his tactics away!

Not sure if this has been shared ? The way it is written ( Charlotte Griffiths again) is making out that Harry is being magnanimous in sharing his diary so that the RF can plan accordingly !?
On what planet is he living that the RF will consider what H and M are doing before they arrange events?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/royals/article-14943409/The-major-peace-offering-Prince-Harry-Royal-family-Insiders-tell-CHARLOTTE-GRIFFITHS-secret-talks-Team-Sussex-Palace-really-about.html

That doesn’t make any sense the way it’s written. As you say, it makes it sound like he’s sharing his diary so they can plan around him. It references him wanting to avoid the recent issue where something he did overshadowed Camilla’s birthday portrait. But that portrait was revealed on her actual birthday. So if he wanted to avoid a clash, he could have done that. I assume he knows her birthday, but I don’t believe he cares about overshadowing his stepmum’s portrait.

It has vibes of that story (which I hope is true) about Thatcher wanting her staff to find out what colour the Queen was wearing to some event, so that she could make sure they didnt wear the same. And the palace responding with something like, no need to worry, the Queen doesn’t pay attention to that.

Again he thinks we are all as stupid as he is @MummyJ12! 🙄

IMHO, the media is fairly agnostic as to which member of the RF it attacks, as long as the attacks result in clicks. Family drama is far easier to understand than the nuances of constitutional questions and everyone has their share of dramatic relatives so the W&C vs. H&M is an easy story to sell from the media's POV.

TBH, even before M arrived on scene, attacking W&C was always a popular sport for the media with the positive press in 2013-2016 being more of an aberration than the norm if you look over press coverage from 2003 to 2023

The Facebook hearings in the US were very eye-opening as to how Facebook pioneered and then other social media entities followed in the clicks for rage business model, as they found that anger drives engagement.

The last thing the Waleses would want is acces to Harry's diary. They would automatically be linked to any leaking immediately. The diary has to be a cover story as it makes no sense at all, especially as it's Meghan who is busier than Harry.

I agree H does next to nothing but I am not sure what M would be doing with her time these days. There’s been nothing new on her Instagram for almost a month, no more podcasts, no more product ‘drops’.

hepsitemiz · 27/07/2025 08:11

You think theyd’ve stayed if they’d only been given a grand enough castle to live in, wasp?

And the freedom to make cash and accept freebies and get all the best ‘gigs’. I don’t think there was anyway to satisfy them.
so of course they have gone to America for all of that…well maybe not.

Well…only if other people weren’t given bigger castles. It would be triggering to find that you’d got the small, insignificant castle if your brother and his wife were at Windsor.

Imagine that. Worse than having only one sausage when your brother gets two.
Oh, the suffering! The inhumanity!

I think that's the only possible response isn't it? Otherwise the RF lay themselves open to stories about fitting events around Harry, which really wouldn't be a good look.

Harold's fingerprints all over it but I think the key takeaway there is the almost throwaway line that Harold and Pa might find time for a face to face.

jeffgoldblum · 27/07/2025 12:08

They ( well Harry to a lesser extent) wanted to disneyfy the Monarchy, they wanted to change a historical institution of the U.K. into some commercial parody of what most Americans think the royal family are!
slap it on t shirts and lunch boxes and make money from it .
even now they fail to understand what the monarchy is really about.
personally as a U.K. resident I find it offensive and insulting.

HonoriaBulstrode · 27/07/2025 12:23

How much scope do they have to do that anyway? As already said, birthdays don't change. And major events in the Royal calendar - Trooping, Garter Day, Ascot, Wimbledon, State Opening etc - happen at the same time every year, involve many other people and can't be shuffled around. Even a fairly low key one day visit to a provincial town will probably involve different venues, people, groups and organisations, which all have to be coordinated.

And on any given day, there's likely to be a working royal doing something, somewhere. I can just see Princess Anne agreeing to plan her engagements around what H might be doing.

Harry is deluded.

BemusedAmerican · 27/07/2025 12:27

Many of the commenters for the Vintage Read latest shows really dislike Charlotte Gifford. They view her as the new Omid Scobie. They have started boycotting. Palace Confidential because they dislike her so much.

I don't think W & C will move. Why go to a larger house that is more difficult to manage when C is still recovering and one child may go to boarding school?

Typos.

I'm not saying there's scope to do it (or that they would even if there was) - just that the very suggestion of it then appears to validate negative comments from Sussex-leaning press if there seems to be a clash.

MrsLeonFarrell · 27/07/2025 13:16

I find it faintly ridiculous that Harry's big concession is .... sharing his diary with the actual King. Maybe Kim Kardashian (who is actually far more successful than Harry) should start letting Camilla know what she is doing in case there is a clash?

It is yet another example of Harry's complete failure to accept that his status has changed. Working royals try to avoid clashes , those on the periphery don't. Harry is the latter but thinks he is the former.

I doubt the Wales family are looking to move at the moment. Surely the sensible thing would be to wait until the move into Windsor Castle becomes necessary. I don't think the press can quite grasp that William and Catherine are happy to live a close to an ordinary life as is possible for them.

Profhilodisaster · 27/07/2025 13:43

Most of the 'clashes' seem to be H&M publishing silly photos of themselves or parts of their children on the RF special days .

Vespanest · 27/07/2025 13:59

Even if they avoid clashes that has no impact on when the papers decide to print articles. Such as the leaking of the meeting during Catherine at Wimbledon. The diary makes a better story for Harry than asking Charles for a bail out, providing money for his children or a handful of possiblities that make more sense than Harry having an engagement the same time as Camilla birthday.

Weepixie · 27/07/2025 14:00

I had a really good laughed reading the article about swapping diaries until I realised it wasn’t satire, that it was real and a very clear example of how Harry’s convinced he’s the American branch of the RF and on equal footing with the UK based branch. 🙈

Serenster · 27/07/2025 14:02

The article from Harry has echoes of Piers Morgan’s account of Diana in her last summer when she was staying at Mohammed Al Fayed’s villa in the South of France, and deliberately aimed to overshadow Camilla’s birthday:

When Charles threw a 50th birthday party for Camilla in 1997 while Diana was holidaying with the Fayeds during that last fateful summer, Mohamed Al Fayed called me from his villa to ask if our photographer (I was editor of the Daily Mirror) would be near the beach that morning. I could hear Diana in the background, issuing instructions to him, and she later came to the beach in a leopard-print bikini and began doing cartwheels, guaranteeing that the next day’s front pages would be full of pictures of her and not of Camilla’s big night.

[It was a leopard print one-piece, not a bikini, and Diana was photographed doing swan dives into the water not cartwheels, but otherwise, Piers was correct - the papers covered both Camilla’s birthday and Diana in the Med the next day).

When I saw the headline on the physical newspaper on the supermarket shelf, I did have a little chuckle. It is just so daft, suggesting that H is doing them a favour by sharing his diary.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 27/07/2025 14:36

What next? Katie Price synchronising diaries with the Palace to avoid a clash? honestly why don’t the Palace send him off with a flea in his his ear rather than pandering and humouring him all the god damn time, there is absolutely no need for our Head of State to know Meghan is going to release a video of her twerking and grinding, someone in power needs to tell him as he has clearly forgotten that he is not a working member of the Royal family and has no standing in representing our country and government, tattoo it on his forehead if necessary, the Palace really need to stop this nonsense I’m getting pretty fed up of their inaction.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 27/07/2025 14:39

So that’s where the twerking idea came from 🤔.
