I’m somewhat fascinated by the instagram following of Kate’s former stylist and personal assistant of 15 years.

Understandable to monitor fashion blogs like whatmeghanwore but what’s the interest in Heather Dorak or Daniel Martin?

She even followed Meghan and asever before hastily unfollowing - why hide now?

Perhaps part of her new luxury fashion consultancy is keeping tabs on in-laws friends and associates.

This is what it all boils down to, Catherine being front and centre on the world stage, The state visit and Macron flirting with her at Dinner, the Wimbledon crowds cheering her for all the world to see, it must be infuriating for certain people.

Yeah, you really do have to wonder why Meghan and Harry push themselves out there so much, why their PR are fully occupied with pushing articles about them. It does keep the RF board active at least.

@Raystar, I don't know where you live in the US but when I was an undergrad, a male student was caught crawling around under the study tables, photographing under women student's skirts. No one blamed the students for their clothing. They all thought the guy was a perv.

@jeffgoldblum my job has really been busy. I've been working during lunch. My commutes have been brutal and often devoid of internet connection. However, my community garden beds have just started flowering! Thanks for asking.

At one point on this thread I commented that I, a fashion idiot, thought those shots of Meghan in Florida at the infamous polo match reminded me of Ralph Lauren ads. Then M wore those really oversized Ralph Lauren pants to NYC. I did think "was her stylist tracking the comments on the Mumsnet RF board? Did I inspire this outfit?" Then I realized that was crazy and put it out of my mind. 😁

it seems SO important- like a tenet of religious faith - to drum home the idea that Kate copes Meghan. It’s off-the-scale weird, creepy and pathetically trivial.

For the record: I don’t believe Kate copied M, and cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would think that. I think it’s a safe bet that C loathes the very thought of that horrible woman…why in the name of God would she want to look like her? Would you try to look like the person who’s bullied you relentlessly?

But it’s just so childish and trivial. Are we still in the primary school playground, chanting taunts at each other?

This is the thing, Meghan Supporters: Catherine is the future Queen. Meghan is a cookie saleswoman and part-time twerker. I’m still awaiting a reason why C would want to imitate such a low-life.

They live in a strange alternative reality. As with Einstein’s idea of space curving, they have to twist reality to accommodate their beliefs, which are becoming harder and harder to defend.

Mostly of the time it’s wilful misrepresentation. In that Meghan’s supporters show Kate wearing something similarly styled to something Meghan has worn, and conveniently ignore the fact that Kate has also worn the same items/the same style before Meghan did as well.

Or it’s just a ridiculous reach. Kate wore a toffee and white striped Ralph Lauren shirt a couple of weeks ago. Toffee coloured stripes are everywhere in the shops right now - it’s an on-trend look. Kate has worn striped tops (mostly Bretons, but also striped shirts) for literally years and years, including before her marriage. She has worn Ralph Lauren items several times before, including a gingham shirt that’s she worn a few times under blazers and jumpers. But suddenly in wearing this shirt, she must be copying a Ralph Lauren striped shirt Meghan wore eight years ago, in an entirely different colourway….

They also completely ignore the fact that in the 20 years since Kate has been photographed, fashions have evolved. The hemlines of both coats and dresses have come down, and professional women are wearing trousers more, and more flat shoes. This also impacts what Kate wears - and Meghan too!

True but that would require an open mind!

Their mindset is so reminiscent of the dogma and brainwashing you find in cults, with a good dollop of self-soothing thrown in too. I visualise them rocking backwards and forwards, intoning “Kate copies Meghan, yes, Kate copies Meghan!” and feeling better afterwards!

I think the 3 or 4 posters who are on here constantly seem obsessed with Meghan. I can’t imagine how they would feel if there was a reconciliation between the family - yes the family which is what they are. You all seem to be unhinged.

Some people need to look up legal definitions, let alone checking out timelines.

I have never seen a Victoria sponge cake for sale in the US. We tend to do layer cakes covered in frosting or varieties of cheesecakes. For the past several years, cheesecakes with a top layer of baklava have been showing up around NYC. Many years ago, I did have a ginger toffee pudding at a British- themed restaurant and I loved it but the custard threw me off. We would normally serve it with whipped cream, or ice cream, on the side.

The first exposure of a squad member to a Victoria sponge may have been through Meghan so they really thought she invented it.
