Back to as ever, the more I think about it this is probably the best approach for Meghan. She know exactly how many products she needs to sell to make a profit and she maintains the hype. Alternating the products or spacing the drops ensures her fans get as excited over jam as a teenager getting excited at getting a Sabrina Carpenter ticket. This is the only way, no one is going to rush to buy jam that's readily available and there's no validation of screen grabbing an invoice to prove that you're the best fan. Meghans happy selling with the FOMO and her fans are happy to buy. It's not going to directly lead to a billion dollar business but it has roots. I'm guessing the wine will be limited with a high market price for the quality. But her fans are saving their pennies because they love her.

But if she stays low volume, she still
wont make much money 🤷‍♀️

Not2identifying · 23/06/2025 13:11

I'm struggling to imagine even the most fervent fan getting that excited about fruit spread.

onehorserace · 23/06/2025 13:17

Apricot 🤮

Ridiculous, vacuous woman - that's the highly edited version of my opinion.

Or crepes mix. 😂

Higher profits are also generally only available on high volume, the margins are worse on small drops. Small drops are best for very expensive exclusives, not small and cheap products.

Yes, if she was selling 'luxury' perfume or cosmetics with a very high profit margin she might make a profit with small batches. But a couple of 'drops' of white labelled pancake mix or fruit 'spread' aren't going to keep the lights on in Montecito Manor.

Which is why I think this is a vanity project, not a serious commercial endeavour. She wants to be able to say she's a 'female founder' with a 'sell out business'.

I can recommend the St Darfour jam too. Apricot is lovely ( even tho not fond of the fruit) and the blueberry even nicer.

JADS · 23/06/2025 14:25

In the Emma Grede podcast, Meghan talks about teenagers saving up to buy her jam. I thought it seemed a bit bonkers and that teenagers are into skin care and clothes not jam. But it also made me feel a bit quesy because if Meghan believes that is what is actually happening then it feels really exploitative.

Don't get me wrong she isn't the only brand doing this (side eyes anything you can buy in Sephora), but given her and Harry's "activism" around internet harms, it doesn't sit right.

Yes, because nothing gets today's teens obsessed more than a pot of fruit 'spread' made by someone from their parents' generation who wants them to call her Duchess.

Personally I view indifference as worse than anger, anger at least shows emotion. Indifference is coming to terms with a situation and moving on. Siblings do not owe any unconditional love to each other, I can imagine the Harry that William loved now doesn't exist for William. He's mourned that Harry, he doesn't know the new version and doesn't want to.

Yes, the opposite of love isn't hate. It is indifference. I think that William really doesn't care what happens to Harry at his point, and that is a reflection on Harry, not William.

When I got divorced many years ago, my mum, who had also been divorced, told me that there is nothing deader than dead love, and I have found that to be absolutely true.

What do companies do with the data they’ve obtained?

Sell it to other companies so that they can try to sell their tat to you also. And yes, MM is absolutely doing it. All retail companies do it as an added revenue stream.

It is not that Charles and William have to be careful what they say in front of Harry it's that being in the same room as Harry gives credence to anything Harry decides to say in the future.

@Vespanest I think this is really important - simply being in Harry's company opens up the possibility of interesting headlines; and I think it was @IdaGlossop who pointed out Harry's unpredictability. So far it has included not only personal insults, which they may be ready to forgive, but also rants containing allegations of unconstitutional behaviour.

I genuinely do hope they can find a way forward but suspect it may take a number of years - and perhaps with Harry on the fringes of the family for a while and seen to behave appropriately?

KC3 - I suspect will wait until PH has been divorced for sometime before opening up any channels to lessen the risks. However KC3 I dont think will be around that long and once he's gone PW will slam that door and bolt it firmly shut.

Weird Instagram messaging. Meghan's page has a video that seems to suggest she is making everything herself, instead of a factory. The actual business page though has some positive calligraphy (this reaction isn't about Meghan,I hate Live Love Laugh and it's ilk.)

Well if that doesn’t make it very clear to her fans that she thinks they’re fools then nothing will.

The ASA would be on to this in the UK if it were reported to it. Misleading and inaccurate content aligned with a commercial product … not cool.

"A little behind the scenes of [AsNever]" complete with Meghan with apricots, random bees and raspberry jam/spread/stuff being poured/dripped by hand.

As for "Note to self Let's do something extraordinary today!" perhaps that could be her and the squad actually realising that this twee tripe is not real.

KateDelRick · 23/06/2025 16:41

Why? Why lie like this? It's just so unnecessary.

It is hard to avoid the impression that she is being deceptive on her personal page. If it was true why not put the video on the As Ever page?

Serenster · 23/06/2025 16:51

Can someone explain in regards to the above - how Meghan won against the Daily Mail for publishing excerpts of the letter she sent to her father? Her father gave the DM the excerpts - is it not the case that once you wrote and sent correspondence to someone it's then their property to do with what they want? I think I'm having a moment because I can't understand how that works legally?

Because Meghan was the writer of the letter, she claimed she had copyright in its contents, and the Mail publishing more than snippets of it without her consent was a breach of her copyright. She was successful on this claim, so the other issues (for example, whether Meghan had a reasonable expectation of privacy in the letter given the “5 friends” had already spoken about it and some of its contents to People magazine) did not need to be determined.

That is such a ludicrous claim! Surely no-one could think this is a genuine cottage industry produced in a domestic kitchen…?

Mylovelygreendress · 23/06/2025 16:53

If we are to believe Twitter/X , Meghan’s tea is being sourced from Republic of Tea .

I'm pretty sure some people would. Some people believe the earth is flat after all.

Vespanest · 23/06/2025 17:06

I'd hope it's time for Harry to make a stand, if Harry feels being the spare is so detrimental he appears to not notice that Archie is an occasional prop for Harry few instagram posts and Lilibet is constantly involved in Meghans. Why the hell would decisions be made about which child gets which role at this age and trypical stereotyped roles. It's bad enough that her supporters are pushing the double barrel first names to ensure the Princess Diana connection. I find it really bad taste and extremely damaging for the children. First Meghan is the Diana embodiment and now Harry's daughter is getting the same mantle. Creepy and potentially psychologically damaging.

RandyRedHumpback · 23/06/2025 17:49

In the Emma Grede podcast, MM pointedly said her personal instagram wasn't being used to promote her business. Perhaps she's making the "home-made" claim on the personal instagram in order to have plausible deniability about mis-selling the As Ever products as home-made. The mistake she's made is that the "I've sold out" missive from the second drop - where she advises people to hurry up if they want the sprinkles - was, I believe, posted on both.
