I don't understand why she's posted this. In what way is she hoping to enhance here brand/improve her image? It's so weird.

I love the way you speak for everyone! And so authoritatively too!

The footage didn’t make me feel remotely uncomfortable. At least they seemed to be having a laugh.

And everyone is allowed to share what they want of their own private life. It’s other people coercing you to share it, or sharing it without your permission, that is problematic .

And at least they are not having to appear before the world’s press within a day or so of giving birth and having to call in a hairdresser, make up artist and stylist, and put on high heels, for a photo shoot on the steps of a London hospital, having to smile while exhausted and in pain? I suppose that qualifies as dignified does it, if everything outwardly appears ok?

Pretty sure Lili would not want her birthday to be used share information about her private life…like revealing to the world her mother was twerking before she gave birth to her.

But she doesn’t get a choice….her private info is shared by her parents.

RedRosesPinkLilies · 04/06/2025 22:56

@Alittlemoreconversationplease They appear for a very short time and do it with dignity and apparent enjoyment.
If I was Royal - damn right I’d be choosing the hairdresser and stylist for a few moments holding my beautiful baby over twerking in a hospital gown.

RandyRedHumpback · 04/06/2025 22:58

Well it's Lili being jiggled about and twerked out, Lili having her birth history put online without her permission as a person of consenting age. H&M have set themselves up as advocates against online bullying wrt children, working with the Parent Network. So how will they explain this decision if Lili is one day bullied/laughed at by other children for that video? How does it square with their child advocacy values?

This is true. But sometimes it is sad to watch when people do this unwisely or in a way that exploits them or shows their vulnerability. It's sad when people with vulnerabilities put themselves out there to be exploited, laughed at and humiliated, and no-one stops them

Like the drug users on YouTube sharing clearly humiliating clips of themself, or the teenage girl sexting or sharing raunchy videos on tiktok.

To me, this video shows two people with mental health difficulties and trauma histories embarrassing themselves (and their future children). They are exploiting themselves. Yes it is their choice, but it's sad to watch them embarrassing themselves and demeaning themselves in this way, so publically.

I'd have hoped their new team would have stepped in to protect them from themselves.

User14March · 04/06/2025 22:47

When did this ‘fad’ begin?

Apparently the original trend started in 2018 but it’s still going strong, there’s tens of thousands of similar videos on TikTok, many of them in delivery rooms.

chergar · 04/06/2025 23:08

I have no issue with the video.
The privacy thing isn’t relevant here, THEY have chosen to post the video, it doesn’t give away any sensitive details and is completely in their control.
i don’t think the bump looks fake either.
In the hours before I went in to labour I could have been dancing like that, I wasn’t but it would have been possible.
Post-natal pre-eclampsia can come on hours/days after the birth so wouldn’t affect the pre Labour.
posting on the child’s birthday - not an issue either, every year my kids get the “this time xx years ago I was…….” Videos and camera phones were not really a thing then and I am not a big poster on insta/fb/other but if I was I might post “xx years ago I was….”.

this is just meghan/harry hate and people looking to have a go at them.

MrsFinkelstein · 04/06/2025 23:10

The video is just weird and ...just desperate.

The lumpy bits on her bump is just the strap and the CTG monitor - looks like she's attached to a telemetry CTG to monitor fetal HR and uterine activity.

The lack of pain and amount of dancing indicates to me she's in the very early stages of being induced.

Harry's propped a phone on a table to video them - you can see him pressing record and then moving out the way.

I'm clearly not their audience as it's just all too try hard and cringe for my taste. Just a bit too much trying to be fun and goofy and "aren't we the cool ones" and missing the mark.

Also neither show much inate sense of rhythm.

She's clearly pregnant, it's not a moon bump. She looks great actually, just a rubbish dancer who thinks shes good. (Edit - no hate, I'm a rubbish dancer too, but I'm very aware of my lack of rhythm).

I just want to know where the 65lbs she gained in pregnancy weight is? Certainly not visible here, and wasn't in her 1st pregnancy either.

Kim K gained that much and it was obvious. Meghan was just all bump and still overall very slim.

Funnily enough it’s hard for unborn babies to offer an opinion but I doubt they would care if they could!

What about older royal children being paraded about like sheep at Easter and Christmas while adoring “fans” shout their names? That’s far more psychologically damaging.

CallMeFlo · 04/06/2025 23:13

This is typical of her. Everything is about her. Everything is posted under the guise of one thing but is about her.

Why not just do what normal people do - post s photo of the child youre wishing a happy birthday too but no as usual she makes the occasion about her

LaMarschallin · 04/06/2025 23:13

So the SS line is that M&H are a "young" couple making a sweet, cute, funny video about twerking during labour just like thousands do on TikTok etc.
And so many new MN members are here to explain that.
Things must be really desperate chez Sussex/Spencer/whevs.

The love of money is the root of all evil. I fear it’s like the start of a particularly chilling Black Mirror episode perhaps for H&M.

Well it’s just as well we all have different opinions about the video isn’t it? I thought it showed two people excited about what was about to happen and expressing that anticipatory excitement in a harmless way.

I think being taught by your parents to pose for photos with the back of your head or with your face covered is far more mentally scarring.

I don’t have much of an opinion on Harry and meghan either way. I just thought it was worth pointing out it’s a very viral dance routine and song to the point where it’s boring- I’ve seen hundreds of couples doing those exact dance moves to that exact song in hospital rooms whilst scrolling on TikTok, and there are thousands and thousands more I haven’t seen. It’s not at all original or noteworthy.

24CRZZNKKA · 04/06/2025 23:19

Iv not read all the replies so this may already have been mentioned ...but she didn't have pre eclampsia. She had post partum eclampsia which develops after birth.

I also have no idea what she has done to be so hated by the public

RedRosesPinkLilies · 04/06/2025 23:25

I don’t hate her. I feel sorry for the pair of them. Just don’t understand why this video is being shared and why it’s being shared now. Fine as a family moment, but surely not for public consumption ?
I actually think sometimes they try too hard to be popular- less would be more

I hadn't noticed your post particularly and wasn't replying to it.
My comment was based on a quick read through of the thread and noticing words/phrases that cropped up a lot.
Turning my notifications off now so I don't wake up to lots of emails in the morning.

Bumpy bump, bumper bump bump bump 😬

How cringey. Anything for publicity. They wanted privacy but that was yesterday. It does seem a little bonkers to release this after all this time.

The thing what’s always done it for me well amongst many many other inconsistencies which would a least raise a legitimate concern, that bump doesn’t pop from the womb. I’ve never seen a bump like it, it sways side to side, drops, inflates deflates no one in history has had such a suspicious bump, then couple that with no Dr sign the births off to the Royals, staff saying she wasn’t in the Portland, the inconsistencies in Harry’s birth stories in Spare, the announcements being all over the place. I feel if there was ever a woman to do this, I wouldn’t put it past her and their truth. I mean she’s clearly trying to address this but why not just make a statement. I birthed those kids and Dr and Dr can testify so wind your necks in and naff off. That would be far far more dignified than having everyone on the internet spectulate.

It's not been posted when she's unborn. And it's not been posted when she's old enough to have a say in the matter. It's been posted when she's a voiceless pre-schooler relying on the good judgment of her parents. Sadly missing in this case.

You are totally missing the point, I see: H&M are preaching to parents about online activity/on line censorship and the bullying of children. Then posting up something ridiculous that Lily may well be teased about in the future. And they are not showing a good example of their values/credentials in this field to the gullible idiot adults who follow them and copy them. They are hypocrites. Are the other royals preaching about online censorship? No.

The older royal children are with their parents and other relatives attending family gatherings or a set piece official duty that involves sport or kids' activities. It's a world where duty is the centre of their identity, which they are introduced to gradually through these occasions. They will move in circles of people/other children for whom none of this is odd. They appear at these public events a handful of times per year. The rest of the time you don't see them.

Wittow · 04/06/2025 23:33

Oh god it's so undignified. Some things really should not be broadcast. I've got a shame hangover by proxy!

SisterMargaretta · 04/06/2025 23:35

This isn't one of their worst offences and I don't think there's anything suspicious about it, it's just extremely cringey!
