If anyone can manage to sit through this podcast between Meghan and Jamie Kern Lima, what are your thoughts about Meghan saying this?
And what are your thoughts on Meghan in general after watching her talking with Jamie here?
I don't know if I'm BU but I pick up on narcissist vibes.

MaryTheTurtle · 28/05/2025 16:28

I’m glad she find him attractive it would be crap if she didn’t. He’s not my sup of tea but then I suppose I’m not his so on we go

jeffgoldblum · 28/05/2025 16:30

Ive said it before and I will say it again!!!
all this lens talk gets on my wick!!!!
an optical lens only makes things clearer it doesn’t change the image in any way.
a magnifying lens only makes things bigger it doesn’t change the image in any way.
enough with all this rubbish lens nonsense!

MrsEmmelineLucas · 28/05/2025 16:47

Thank you, Jeff! Meghan constantly uses the term "lens" doesn't she?! Meaningless...

I know ! @MrsEmmelineLucas, it’s been used on here before too! ( as you can tell from my annoyed comments) , before leaving when I got pregnant with my first child, I worked in optics for more than 25 years , it annoys me when people piggyback off “ fashionable terms “ that totally twist and reinterpret the meaning of words.

we also had prism too by the way! 🙄

I got about 34 seconds in before I had to give up. Forget Megan, that interviewer is so utterly bizarre looking/sounding - offers nothing incisive by way of journalism whatsoever- you can’t see her eyes she smile-grimaces so badly, her voice is infantilised and she seems to be chewing something when she talks. What’s her story?

I am not belittling anyone, there is really no need for you to take offence. I am just saying I find armchair diagnoses rather unpleasant. You are quite entitled to think otherwise.

I'm much less comfortable with the MN fad for jumping automatically to armchair diagnoses.

I agree.

I haven't taken offence. Like yourself I am expressing an opinion on the way some people post on here.

Good for her. I big my DH up too. It's a nice thing to do.

Interested to see there's a lot of psychiatrists on this thread who deem her to be a narcissist. Armchair diagnoses is not on.

You are belittling people here in the piece starting " interested" or do you really believe that there are many psychologists posting on here? You don't really believe that, do you?

SamDeanCas · 28/05/2025 18:15

It’s the whole croaking voices and slurring of words, does my head in. Not just M, a lot of Americans do this, but the two of them is just so sickly.

bubblesformiles · 28/05/2025 18:15

Sorry - psychiatrists ....

Obviously not. Which is why I don't like it

Well there was a call for those too on another thread! 🤣

jeffgoldblum · 28/05/2025 18:23

A lot of posters have relatives and loved ones who exhibit the same behaviour, they are obviously bringing in personal experience to the discussion, who knows we may have a psychological professional or two here as well!

personally I don’t like diagnosis of these disorders for one main reason, I believe it is an excuse for bad behaviour, sometimes people behave badly because they are just assholes , no other reason.

TaupeMember · 28/05/2025 18:39

At the start, she says she's so over 'prove it' then spends the rest of the podcast (only made it through first 10 mins!) trying to prove everything.

She just cares so very much what everyone thinks of her, and is on a constant self publicism drive.

Can only hope she's different with the new family with Harry at home, otherwise I feel for them, I really do

Genius

Uricon2 · 28/05/2025 18:41

I think it's possible for people to display narcissistic behaviour without coming near the threshold for a diagnosis of NPD which I think is much more specific. My mother pretty much ticked every box on the list above and I have a bit of suspicion she might have been, but I'm not a psychiatrist and even if I were, the relationship would preclude me diagnosing it.

H&M have certainly exhibited some very "off" traits but I think it might well be more to do with their general personalities and the combination thereof than anything diagnosable. H's known history of drugs as well as the tragedy in his childhood probably haven't helped with the paranoia. I think M is very, very ambitious and likes control. These things are not personality pathologies or MH issues.

TaupeMember · 28/05/2025 19:08

Of.cpurse she has narcissistic tendencies. You'd have to be blind to say otherwise!

Her main topic of convo- herself!

I used to live near an area where foxes would mate. The noises are horrific.

Extiainoiapeial · 28/05/2025 20:23

@bubblesformiles Please stop with the personal attacks. I expressed an opinion that I feel uncomfortable with armchair diagnoses. Me saying this is in no way belittling anyone.
If others are fine with this practice that is up to them.

My Dh is objectively handsome. I don’t sit around with my mates saying ‘you do realise my husband is handsome dont you?’. They would think I was a right dick if I did. Same applies here.

To be fair she was asked about him. She didn’t just spurt it out randomly
