The Era of Joy didn't last long.

This is going to be interesting, it's going to be a full on PR onslaught for the next few months, and then we will have Harry launching his very own 'commercial project'.

Clearly an article straight from the Office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, giving an exclusive to the DM.

I also think him flying commercial is nothing to do with trying to limit his climate impact and everything to do with cost.

Sure, I think that's a given, especially when you start to get into the Long Haul arena where commercial west coast US to China return in First might be order of magnitude 10,000 or 20,000USD whereas a bizjet hire with all the knobs and bells needed on such an operation might be ten times that amount.

Short haul around the US is slightly different and H&M are in a world where even quite low high net worth individuals (if that makes sense) use bizjets a lot, so I can see the temptation but it certainly can result in a lot of "do as I say, not as I do:.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 27/05/2025 13:26

I'm just trying to head off the commonly stated assumption that he always flies biz jet

Yes that's fair, @notimagain, but then nobody said that Harry always flies private, just that he "frequently" does
As said I've actually no problem with him doing this, which I'd do myself if I had the opportunity; it's the hypocritical yammering I mind

For examples - and again in recent times - he flew back from the Platinum Jubilee in a private jet, to Las Vegas in one more, and yet another was used for Vancouver (and that's just from a 2 minute google)

At least in Nigeria he used the local airline, but Peace Air for gods sake?? When he's constantly bleating on about his safety?? Give me a break Hmm

Well ASS is in there .

@Puzzledandpissedoff - apropos of nothing but it reminded me - my father worked in Lagos in the early 70s. He took an internal flight (it was then called Nigeria Airways ) for a meeting - which he missed . His plane and another got their wings stuck one over the other whilst taxiing and they had to let the tyres down on one to get them apart. It took him a while to tell my mother that anecdote as she doesn't like flying at the best of times 😂

Oh my god! That's funny, but it could have been awful!
I have flown on the former Soviet airline, Aeroflot. For some reason they never secured the trollies. So the whole flight they'd be going up and down the aisles. Entertaining!

BasiliskStare · 27/05/2025 22:44

@MayaKovskaya - early 80s we went on a family holiday - (Intourist ) . We flew Aeroflot. It was only when we got home my father told my mother they didn't publish their safety statistics. 😊

Yes, they were very entertaining flights! No seat allocations either, and very questionable food! Happy days!

There was a good reason for that, BasiliskStare ... clearly yours and @MayaKovskaya's families were of the brave variety!! Grin

I flew internally in Russia 20 years ago. Some seats didn't have seat belts, and the seats flipped forwards like car seats where there aren't doors for the back seats. Except car seats have a locking mechanism to release to flip them forwards. The aeroplane's seats flipped backwards and forwards without any locking mechanism.

There was an overhead shelf, rather than lockers. Anything placed on them could have fallen on the heads of the passengers at any time 😮😂

@notimagain I doubt there’s many posters on this thread who thought he did.

Looking at the latest post from the duo, can you actually eat the solid honeycomb bit that she added to the jar or is it just decorative?

Princessconsuelabananahammock9 · 28/05/2025 04:19

Why is she rebranding again after finally successfully selling stuff???

She has zero business sense.

AntaresAltered · 28/05/2025 04:42

Bloody hell, that would just be my luck. Getting on a long haul flight and be sat next to Whinging Windsor.

Has she successfully sold stuff though? It seemed like no one was actually able to buy anything. People recounted either everything being unavailable or being charged but later getting an email saying sorry but it's out of stock. I didn't see one single 'normal', non Sussex squad or influencer type person posting about their stuff. As far as I'm aware, none of it showed up on ebay or the likes, which it would do if it really sold out in seconds and was in such demand 🤔. Sounds like a total scam tbh

Luckily most first class seats allow you to close the divider so no need to speak to anyone or depending on the airline you have your own suite with a sliding door. Absolute bliss.

So I looked it up and if anyone’s interested you can eat the waxy hexagonal stuff. It’s good that their kids are getting to see where food comes from and getting involved in gardening etc, not sure about putting adult bee keeping gloves on a three year old though, surely there are better options out there.

MaturingCheeseball · 28/05/2025 07:36

I have flown 1st class twice in my life. Actually I didn’t enjoy all the attentiveness. I felt like an imposter as my company was paying for the ticket: silly really but seeing people being entitled and demanding gave me the heebeejeebies (sp?).

I wouldn’t like to sit next to Harry - he looks the type prone to flatulence ….

TheAutumnCrow · 27/05/2025 10:55

Oh god, H isn’t being slowly, softly ‘rehabilitated’ into the fold, is he?

Nope, that's not the RF briefing - that's Harry. He's trying to rehab his image (hence this thread). The RF aren't.

Thedom · 28/05/2025 07:42

I don't think it was actually a product launch at all, I think it was a market test run with minimum inventory, to evaluate if there was enough demand for a full launch.

I suspect it showed there isn't an actual demand for the products she wanted to sell, the jam wasn't jam, so it wasn't fit for purpose, the honey never materialised and probably the price point for all the items was not realistic.

You don't launch a new product line with an empty pipeline, so it was never a product launch after all.

Her latest podcast if full of more lies- stuff her and/or Harry have said before that shes now contradicted so can't even blame the media. I don't get why though? She'd be better off being herself and if money is the goal to invest in someone talented with a project shes passionate about rather than trying to spearhead a company and get involved in design etc when to be successful takes experience and talent in this area not just slapping your name on it.

I’ve never seen entitlement and demanding on a flight. Just good manners and a low key air from fellow passengers.

And attentiveness? Service/attentiveness is usually very discreet.

flapjackfairy · 28/05/2025 08:17

leaving aside the private jets how environmentally friendly can it be for 4 people to live in a whopping great mansion that has numerous bedroom's and bathrooms? All that heating and air-conditioning and running costs to start with. They are using way more of the earth's resources than they need to live in the lap of luxury but of course that is par for the course for most rich and famous people ( and certainly royalty).
That's why frankly they should all shut up and stop lecturing the plebs . I have zero interest in any of their opinions.

MayaKovskaya · 28/05/2025 08:21

@flapjackfairy they've fallen into a trap of believing that they can somehow tell people how to behave and how to live. They were both given the most amazing privilege and opportunity to be heard, they have misused it for their own gain. Why should we listen to them about the environment, racism, or protecting children online? They're hypocritical about all of these things.

Just saw on twitter that there’s been a correction added for the article- apparently there will be a restock soon of existing products and the quote about reassessing and launching next year was to do with new products.
