(This is a good example of not talking publicly when you are angry…)

MrsLeonFarrell · 02/05/2025 17:27

I can forgive my family's involvement ... the press... what im struggling to forgive is a decision that was made in 2020 that affects my every single day and that's knowingly putting me and my family at risk every single day

"Every single day"?

So is he saying that the British taxpayer should be funding his security in California?

It sounds like it.

violetsorrengail · 02/05/2025 17:29

He doesn't live here, presumably if he chose to visit his family he'd benefit from their security when he was visiting.

PoppysAunt · 02/05/2025 17:29

IcedPurple · 02/05/2025 17:27

I wish this 'interviewer' would ask him why he feels 'safe' in California where he actually lives, but not in Britain which he hardly ever visits? Or in Colombia, Nigeria or Ukraine for that matter?

It's all about his family, isn't it?

I wish the interviewer would ask him why he's completely delusional.

diddl · 02/05/2025 17:29

He really does see himself as a victim & passenger in his own life doesn't he?

Vespanest · 02/05/2025 17:29

He's doing it again talking shit about people who cannot respond this time including Ravec. Had to get Camilla in. How can his family ever trust him.

MrsLeonFarrell · 02/05/2025 17:30

Serenster · 02/05/2025 17:28

I thought in 2020 with all the chaos and disagreements that the one thing I could count on with my family was that they would keep us safe. And not only did they remove my security, they signalled to all the governments around the world to do the same.

My tv died, probably from outrage

Of course. We're the plebs and he has a coat of arms.

Serenster · 02/05/2025 17:30

It sounds like it.

Yes, given that statement that his family have signalled to other governments that he shoudln’t be protected - i.e. he’s not an IPP

binkie163 · 02/05/2025 17:30

Thedom · 02/05/2025 14:33

From the DM, is this correct.? He gets uk security but not uk armed security and that’s what he was fighting against ?

It means that for now, armed police bodyguards, paid for by the British taxpayer, will not be reinstated for him, Meghan and their two children when they are in the UK.”

edit. Sorry I can’t remove that hyper link.

Edited

He is obsessed with armed guards or the appearance of. No uk royal protection officers have drawn their firearm since the 1970's when the IRA tried to abduct Princess Anne according to Dai Davies former royal protection & security expert.
Harry should be footing the bill for all costs in the defense, if for no other reason that to give him pause to think, his legal team are milking him. I dont think he realizes how little standing he has left in UK. So far the security service has done its job but it was never about the security its about what he wants, you cant deal with that in court as the judge said today 'grievance isnt a legal argument'

IcedPurple · 02/05/2025 17:30

Serenster · 02/05/2025 17:28

He explicitly said 'my family' here.

This is serious.

He hasn't got a clue about how the world works and he's completely obsessed with perceived family grievances.

He's making himself into a spectacle for the world to see.

Serenster · 02/05/2025 17:31

Of course I would love reconciliation. Life is short. I would love to reconcile with my father - he won’t speak to me because of this security issue

As if 'his family' have any influence over that.

Harry’s legal team would have had to have sought specific permission from the Court of Appeal to set up an interview with the BBC, which would necessarily have involved letting the BBC know the outcome of the embargoed judgement so they could prepare for the interview.

If they didn’t seek an order from the court permitting disclosure to the BBC before 2pm today, they have breached the embargo. It is that black and white.

I agree. If this was a pre-recorded interview then it is in breach of the court embargo (which is different to a press embargo) in the absence of permission of the court in advance.

StillProcrastinating · 02/05/2025 17:31

Perfect example of why you should read a pre written statement and not rant in anger on tv.

bit like Andrew doing the interview …

RandyRedHumpback · 02/05/2025 17:32

Any way to resolve?

Am devastated with the people behind the decision thinking this is ok. Is this a win for them to know we are unprotected. This is a huge win for the people who wish me harm. There have been so many differences between me and some of my family and this is the sticking point. Some members of my family will never forgive me for writing the book and lots of things. I would love reconciliation and don't want to continue to fight the m all. Don't know how long my father has. He won't speak to me because of the security stuff. Reconciliation can't come without truth. I have found out the truth through this case. IT would be nice to have reconciliation. Don't think Charles ever wants to talk about this decision. Will say it's a government decision. Harry has never been allowed to make his own representations, it all comes from the royal household. There has to be a royal role to get security, and thinks this speaks volumes.

SnoozingFox · 02/05/2025 17:32

IdaGlossop · 02/05/2025 16:26

Update: costs now at £1.5m. The £1m was the estimate at the time of last month's appeal hearing.

Meghan better get making some more jam. Sorry, raspberry flavoured spread.

Serenster · 02/05/2025 17:32

“My father will tell me it is a government decision. It may well be a government decision. But how did they reach that decision. The first thing they did was go to the Royal household. What did they want for me? I’ve never been allowed to make my own submissions”

allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld · 02/05/2025 17:33

@Baital am I the only one who thinks that it is really harry's wife who wants the security?? she is the one who thinks herself as the most important thing since sliced bread!! Harry used to try and give his security the slip, if I remember rightly!! she has continually said she does not want to come back to uk ever again so why push for this?? she also came to the uk and was allowed to use the private gate for royals when she certainly aint no royal!

IcedPurple · 02/05/2025 17:33

Of course the King can't speak to Harry.

Charles is a Head of State and cannot speak to someone who is a security risk. Harry is such a person.

Vespanest · 02/05/2025 17:34

Harry is generational wealth broke, he can't afford a life of security

viques · 02/05/2025 17:34

MrsLeonFarrell · 02/05/2025 17:22

If anything happens to them it is the King's fault. Where is the duty of care?

I would say the duty of care belongs firmly to the two adult people who have chosen to leave a place where they were protected, where they could have stepped back from an official role, led a happy family life bringing up their kids AND have been offered excellent protection. Instead they chose to to leave, to publish inflammatory statements about their military career and statements about their family and yet still can’t see how their actions have led to this situation.

RandyRedHumpback · 02/05/2025 17:35

The interviewer was poor. They really needed a Brit or at least someone who understands the workings of the system.

MrsFinkelstein · 02/05/2025 17:35

Holy fuck - he's just taking a flame thrower to his family relationship. There is no coming back from this.

What is it Harry - you chose to leave or you were forced out???

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 02/05/2025 17:35

"My dad won't talk to me" - I will only talk to my dad about this subject, but he can't discuss it so there are zero topics.
"They told the world to downgrade our status" - they accurately shared their present analysis.
"I was downgraded in 2020" - I changed my role and was thus reassessed.
"There are other people who this has happened to" - I am also claiming this is a unique experience.
"I have no security" - I have security assessed for me every time I visit and somehow that isn't ok.
