Harry RAVEC decision appeal

I thought I would start a separate thread to discuss the court case which started today. I for one am still baffled as to why Harry thinks that his treatment has been unreasonable, given that he no longer lives in the UK, but is still given security on a case by case basis when he visits. This seems perfectly reasonable to me 🤷‍♀️

Only mentioning because he brought it up about his brother but my word he's getting bald.
wonder if he feels a tit for taking the piss

Quite! Live by the sword (or bald jibes)....

I doubt it!
he seems to be fully immersed in his denial bubble, and don’t forget he’s cultivated the frontal fringe, I imagine he’s not seen the state of the back and top!

I think you're right, @IcedPurple . Just as the lip readers revealed his sullen "I can't believe I'm being treated like this" at the Coronation, it is entirely about resentment, anger, arrogance, entitlement and a massive dollop of ignorance.

ooh, is there aclip of that

lol, you're right. he probably stands in front of the mirror admiring his lush locks.

BasiliskStare · 08/04/2025 14:04

"H can appeal to the Supreme Court if the Appeal Court finding goes against him."
@IdaGlossop

Surely to goodness even Harry wouldn't try again if this good against him. I would hope if the case is upheld the Judge would make it very clear in words even Harry can understand that he should accept the decision and STOP RIGHT NOW (and pay the bill asap)

I just really hope the decision is upheld. My problem is when they getting into arguing procedural errors etc I just don't know.

Yes, I'll try to find a link. Some lip reader analysed what he said to Jack Brooksbank at the Coronation. It's probably on YouTube. Someone posted it on one of these threads recently.

I think this is a good metaphor for the Sussexes in general. First appearances are that they are going to make one of their enterprises work / launch a new product / slay a new dragon, but actually there is nothing going on behind their front. Harry’s bluster in this court appeal is covering up for the fact that his argument is baseless

It's not that he's 'unlikely' to get it. He simply doesn't qualify, and I don't think he ever has. IPP is not going to happen.

I'm not sure even Harry knows exactly what he wants or expects from this 'case'. I think he just sees the world in a very emotional, grudge driven way. His lawyers will have been obliged to explain to him exactly what the case entails and what the likelihood of success might be, but that's irrelevant when you're not thinking rationally.

At the time of Megxit he clearly believed that he was entitled to IPP status for the rest of his life because they published the following statement on their Sussex website announcement claiming they would always have the equivalent of royal protection officers.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are classified as internationally protected people which mandates this level of security.”

That section was deleted the very next day presumably after someone explained that was not how it worked.

But I imagine in the planning sessions for their exit when they were taking that break in Canada that Harry had told Meghan and their team that they wouldn’t have to worry about paying for security. And he’s been embarrassed and trying to save face ever since.

Good that IIP isn't going to happen. From the bits I've read today, it stood out for me that RAVEC's treating his needs on a case-by-case is interpreted by him as being treated less favorably. A different person would have been thankful. As the judge has pointed out today in relation to RAVEC's terms of reference, since the ToR were written, no working Royal has left the UK to live abroad.

Very sad how he wanted to find a new life and spends all this time chasing his old life

or as my granny used to say all style and no substance!

You're absolutely right. That does appear to be the case, because I remember them being told to remove the IPP claim.

Agreed. And it seems particularly futile that he’s upset over not getting full security in the UK when he never visits anyway

I know. He had a great opportunity to start afresh.

Profhilodisaster · 08/04/2025 14:12

He's too angry to listen to advice, if he doesn't let his old life and all his resentment go, it will eat him up.

BemusedAmerican · 08/04/2025 14:12

He violated NY law by not wearing a seatbelt in that taxi. In fact, none of them were wearing seatbelts, which is odd if you are in a high speed car chase.

I'd love to see RAVEC suddenly
produce Backgrid- provided footage.

Possibly - whoever it was that insisted they got out of the secure blacked out SUVs driven by their own security team and into a random, unvetted New York cab so that the photographers following them could get some really good clear pictures is the problem.

If it was the security team’s idea they should be sacked.

And if I was running a team where the protectees insisted on doing something so stupid I think I’d sack them as clients. Particularly if they released such an inane press release the next day highlighting to the world what a mess the security had been.

Sorry I’m still in utter disbelief that the silly idiot actually said that if anything happens to him it would harm the U.K.
and the people would be upset!!!!
really? Really? 🤔🙄🤣

TizerorFizz · 08/04/2025 14:17

I think it’s about money. Being Royal with security means you are somebody. He wants that to continue. It’s sad and he gave it up. So the security goes too. Hope he doesn’t win or everyone will buy police security!

I think it's about jealousy (on his part) , bitterness , anger and regret. He seems to spend his whole life lashing out at all and sundry, he needs to listen to advice, have a proper look in the mirror to find out why he's so eaten up with his feelings and why he can't let go and move on in a mentally healthy way.

Ah, but It's the principle of it, as a vegetarian friend of mine argued when her mother decided that a lunchtime ham sandwich on Christmas Day was to be replaced by a walk.

DelectableMe · 08/04/2025 13:26

Harry has been singled out for "different , unjustified and inferior treatment" according to his legal team.

I wouldlike to know exactly who he is comparing himself to here. As I understand it, all members of the RF other than KC/QC and W&C only have protection when on royal duties. He doesn't have any royal duties so he is actually getting superior consideration as compared to eg Princess Anne or the Edinburghs. This, I think, lends support to the view that it is PW he is comparing himself to but PW is a working royyal and heir to the throne.

I don’t understand why he thinks anything would actually happen to him in the UK when he is still being offered security if he gives notice that he is coming, or if there were to be a current and credible threat to him. When he says he is being treated differently, he doesn’t seem to grasp that this is in fact a good thing as his treatment is, in fact, preferential
