Harry RAVEC decision appeal

I thought I would start a separate thread to discuss the court case which started today. I for one am still baffled as to why Harry thinks that his treatment has been unreasonable, given that he no longer lives in the UK, but is still given security on a case by case basis when he visits. This seems perfectly reasonable to me 🤷‍♀️

@IcedPurple I think he had a neo nazi threat once. I'm not aware of any others

The thing is, though, I don't think he's really worried about terrorists or assassins. He wants the security to keep the paparazzi away.

Any competent bodyguard can do that. You don't need specialist taxpayer funded security officers to bat off photographers.

Besides, the 'paparazzi' don't really exist anymore and insofar as they do, they'll be much more active in California than in London.

From his “spokesperson” 🙄

This is all about the PR.

I suspect he has done it because William met with UK troops in Estonia. I’m not sure how Putin will view a (albeit non working)
member of the British Royal Family actually going to Ukraine though. Might be a bit of a diplomatic faux pas 🤷‍♀️

So Invictus paid for it all (including the stay in London, no doubt).

So messy, so unnecessary. He's such a headache.

AtIusvue · 10/04/2025 21:03

He’s decided to turn up in a country that is at war! Is he taking the fucking piss?

And using valuable Ukrainian security/intelligence resources so he can make a PR visit

Twat!

He's really sailing close to the wind with these 'royal visits'. The 'tours' were a joke but this is potentially a diplomatic embarrassment. Which is probably what he wants.

Totally agree.

He’s an absolute liability. As well as an idiot.

No, he wants to be the same as William .

Yes but he is sooo important and he probably thinks it will affect people's morale,.......or something🫤

This is not a man who avoids the paparazzi!

CallMeFlo · 10/04/2025 21:12

How can he be expected to be taken seriously with his court case when he's happy to go Ukraine of all places.

More to the point why would he think anyone would want him there

As if the poor Ukrainians don't have enough to deal with just now.

MrsLeonFarrell · 10/04/2025 21:13

That he is happy to visit an actual war zone but is, according to his barrister, riskng his life by sitting in a UK court, is conclusive proof that this is about his paranoia and mental health not facts.

It's great he is visiting injured veterans on behalf of Invictus. He seems genuinely passionate about this and could do a lot of good. I just wish he would step back and realise his fears about security here are baseless.

CalicoPusscat · 10/04/2025 21:15

I just think he feels like he's entitled to it 🤷‍♀️

Is it great?

It's an awful long way to travel for a visit of a few hours. He'll have insisted on first class air travel, a top hotel in London and of course his 'security', so we're talking well into the 5 figures for a short trip which made no material difference to anyone.

And surely it's obvious that he doesn't have any 'fears about security'? This is about ego and jealousy, not security.

I think that he seems to genuinely care about veterans and any high profile visits to Ukraine help the overall war effort. If Invictus don't care about the cost neither do I, I'm not paying for him.

I don't believe the case is about jealously. I believe it is about trauma and paranoia and mental health issues. I'm happy to agree to to disagree though.

Theunamedcat · 10/04/2025 21:24

Yeah I can't see how he is at a greater risk in the UK than in a literal war zone he has just proved he has no case

HappyHedgehog247 · 10/04/2025 21:24

I haven't read the thread. But I see Harry and Meghan as at least as at risk as the working royals. The vitriol and hatred against them puts them more at risk if anything.

Maybe you should read the thread.

It's a very interesting and informed discussion about the relevant issues.

notimagain · 10/04/2025 21:26

Sorry, call me cynical but I agree with the thoughts of a pp.

In view of this trip to Ukraine how much of Harry's entire round trip from the West Coast now gets written of as expenses related to charitable work or gets paid for directly by Invictus.

Don't worry. When in the UK Harry gets full protection. Always has, always will. This is just his vanity project, wanting limitless armed protection on his terms.
All the royals are at risk. The risks vary at times, but are sometimes significant.
Harry and Meghan are not some poor hapless victims.
The security services know their job.

Profhilodisaster · 10/04/2025 21:27

Will this visit be taken into account by the judges , if indeed they hear about it. It's so ill timed , to be in court saying he fears for his life one day and literally hours later going to a country that is in the middle of a war.
Although all the armed guards in the world won't help if a bomb gets dropped on him .

Mylovelygreendress · 10/04/2025 21:27

Did he have a Netflix crew ?

The judges are only interested in whether or not RAVEC followed the correct procedures in arriving at their decision. Harry's shenanigans are irrelevant.

Mylovelygreendress · 10/04/2025 21:05

No, he wants to be the same as William .

As he should be. Why is his risk any lower?

He didn't ask to be born into this family and received no privacy as a child after his mother died - starting on the day he was made to parade around behind her coffin. His risk profile is the important thing, he clearly just cares about his family’s safety.
