Harry RAVEC decision appeal

I thought I would start a separate thread to discuss the court case which started today. I for one am still baffled as to why Harry thinks that his treatment has been unreasonable, given that he no longer lives in the UK, but is still given security on a case by case basis when he visits. This seems perfectly reasonable to me 🤷‍♀️

The 'missing' risk assessment ...

Surely they do a risk assessment every time he wants to come?! That's the whole point

Also there are "snipers" police marksmen, at every state occasion, and where the monarch attends. There were extras at Anne's wedding because of an IRA threat.

Yes, the 'snipers' were probably there mostly for the protection of the Queen and Prince of Wales, not Harry and Meghan.

There have also been rumours they had to intervene/clear up during at least one of bachelor Africa jaunts

This sounds terribly ominous.

Not that ominous, rumour (from a South African friend) is Harry caused a bit of a stir with the locals in at least one bar on at least one occasion. Ultimately his team had to bail him out and he was banned from the establishment.

Might be nonsense but given the Vegas happenings many people find it a credible story.

I notice that William and George sat in the crowd at the Villa match last night. They obviously had discreet security, but it just looked like they were regular fans.

Yes, I was going to mention that. They seem to have had a great evening (other than the result). Obviously they couldn't pre-arrange the date of the match to coincide with the hearing, but it did rather show up the nonsense being spouted in court!

I do hope H isn't passing on this paranoia to his children. They are of an age when they will begin to notice things.

The children seem to be abnormally sheltered and barely seem to leave the house with their parents, who are usually off travelling or attending events without them, so I would assume they are being told that the world isn't safe, everyone's out to to get them etc etc. Sad

Puzzledandpissedoff · 10/04/2025 13:28

I don't know about "barely leaving the house", @Firealarm1414; at six I'd have thought Archie would be at school by now?

Unless he's being homeschooled of course ...

After hearing that he once slapped one of the Foo Fighters, who only held back because of H’s security team, I would believe anything.

The are completely and utterly devoid of any common sense. Did they really think no one would ever realise who this woman is?

I missed this completely.
Did they get a SS person to shout at him to prove how much security he needs?

Weepixie · 10/04/2025 14:13

I’m hoping the woman took it upon herself to do what she did because any other explanation is just complete and utter bonkers and would once again make Harry (and Meagain) a laughing stock.

I just can’t see him being part of it. It’s too preposterous. I think she went there of her own accord and he was as blindsided by what she did as everyone else was.

But it’s said he was scribbling notes to his KC all day and perhaps proceedings were stopped because he said - I’m a celebrity, get me out of here, cos that loose cannon has a glint in her eye I’ve never noticed before.

Of course, that’s it! 😂

Weepixie · 10/04/2025 14:28

Interestingly she was carrying two phones and a notebook:

I read that yesterday but I’ve no idea why it was pointed out. I was only surprised you can take anything into a British courtroom. Where I live it all has to be left in your car and people then leave their car keys on one of their tyres.

smilesy · 10/04/2025 14:31

What nationality is Peace Aderto? Did she have to travel to the UK?

Drama llama - they must feed off each other.
Very sad - I often wonder what it must be like for their children to be brought up in a household with so much drama going on all the time. It can’t be healthy and must have an impact.

Treeleaf11 · 10/04/2025 14:33

I hadn't heard that Taylor Hawkins story before. I makes you wonder whether the security guards main role is to protect the public from Harry.
He was such an arse when he was younger and so sanctimonious now.

Ah yes, but everyone else got a specific risk assessment done by some other committee 'SO I WANT ONE TOO'.

HonoriaBulstrode · 10/04/2025 15:08

I honestly hope he gets what Prince Richard of Gloucester gets, as a maximum.

I was once at an event which Richard of Gloucester was attending in his capacity as Patron of the society. It was a ticketed event and ticket holders had to supply their names and possibly addresses, I don't recall. We were asked to bring ID to be checked on the door, but in the event there was no check. I don't know if he brought security; he and the Duchess, as guests of honour, were escorted to their seats when everyone else was seated, and then escorted out again at the end, by representatives of the society.

He was there as himself, not representing the monarchy, so maybe it didn't count as a 'working royal' event.

Lazycatsitsonthemat · 10/04/2025 15:32

I wonder what he feels when he sees pics of his brother and nephew together having a good time. He could have been there too in another life. George wouldn’t even know who he is.

Edited

Well, he make negative comments about them and their upbringing, didn't he? I thought that was uncalled for. He's no idea how they're being brought up.

Lazycatsitsonthemat · 10/04/2025 15:55

That’s why he won’t be going to any football matches with them ever.

I haven't RTFT but this case has cost us, the taxpayer, £500k so far! WTAF? This is public money, how DARE Harry, who doesn't live her, expect us to pay to defend this. The police and security services in the UK aren't for hire, quite rightly. I'm really pissed off about this!

I agree. This is a complete piss-take. Why should taxpayers be funding this, especially in the current economy? People are relying on food banks, struggling to make ends meet—and we’re footing the court bills for a millionaire who doesn’t even live here, clearly has no love for the UK, and is making what seem like very unreasonable demands. Is it worth starting a petition to say no more public money for Harry’s court cases? If there isn’t one already, can someone here—ideally one of the more clued-up amongst us—get one going?

He should do the honourable thing and pay for it out of his own pocket. CF!
