I thought I would start a separate thread to discuss the court case which started today. I for one am still baffled as to why Harry thinks that his treatment has been unreasonable, given that he no longer lives in the UK, but is still given security on a case by case basis when he visits. This seems perfectly reasonable to me 🤷‍♀️

Hi Jeff, see my point at 15.51, the government Barrister spoke

will do! Thanks 🙏

DelectableMe · 08/04/2025 16:24

The government legal team are trying to argue that "bespoke" is not "inferior", as has been claimed by Harry.

Harry's taken the crown while the King's been delayed in the Forum.

🤣🤣🤣 that would add excitement to the proceedings!

No-one would bat an eyelid. It is obvious to all of us that Harry is the only worthy heir to the revered QEII and that he will surpass her in magnificence. Harry's off for his tea now, before the commuter queues in Pret get too long.

jollygreenpea · 08/04/2025 16:28

Would Harry have had IPP status when he was born, being third in line to the throne.
As William now has three children Harry has been pushed down the list so is just less relevant now.

I’m more inclined to think it was caused by the Sussexes wanting to draw comparisons with Diana…

100%

No , only important diplomats , politicians or head of state are granted IPP status.

Crucible · 08/04/2025 16:37

Does anyone know how much this has cost the taxpayer so far? Not all his cases, just this one?

I wonder if anyone who has a bespoke suit made sees it as “inferior” 🤔

No, @Crucible , but I'm hoping someone will find out.

LillyPJ · 08/04/2025 16:41

His problem is that he considers himself to have been "downgraded".

He downgraded himself when he left the country and stopped his royal duties. He's unreasonable and spoilt.

DelectableMe · 08/04/2025 16:42

They've finished for today, but Sir James Eadie KC hasn't finished outlining the government's position.
They'll resume tomorrow at 10.30, but some of the session is closed, as sensitive security details are being discussed.

Thanks jeffgoldblum, if he's never had and is never going to have IPP status what the twat moaning about.
He has protection when needed.

It seems that he's trying to win on a technicality.

Estimates I have seen seem to consistently be circa £500k .

I would have thought as it would be taxpayers' money it should be told what the final cost is. I don't particularly care about cases v newspapers etc but this I think is different.

@IcedPurple - I don't know if Harry has assets in the UK. It's feasible his trusts from family are still here rather than having been transferred to the US - I suppose it depends what is most tax efficient. If he does have to pay costs it would be a very bad look for him if the Govt finds it hard to get money out of him.

I believe he’s managed to convince himself that he had it!!
but as a child he would only have been covered by close proximity to those that did have it!
he’s just that stupid that he doesn’t understand the conventions and rules of his own country and position.

I bet the bus was a lot more fun - he’s such an idiot not to have embraced the non working Royal role with joy and enthusiasm - he could have been having a laugh with Zara and Mike Tindall while William has to make small talk with city councilors.

I think this is a great point-and I think with a different wife/staying in the UK he might have thrown himself into the whole cousin thing.

Gone to Zara's horsey things and mucked around with everyone. His DC being brought up with loads of cousins having a ball. He could have just gotten on with it and not made a whole drama of it-he used to be so happy go lucky and play pranks and be high spirited and he could just have a fab life in the country with wife and kids playing polo and hanging out with his friends.

He didn't always take himself so seriously-although I think he was always a bit of a brat because everyone felt sorry he lost his mum no one ever said no.

And now we have a man who is unable to accept being told no.

DelectableMe · 08/04/2025 16:55

No, he appears to have absolutely no idea of what IPP status is, and who is entitled to it, the role of the Home Office, the role of the Monarch, and what taxpayers money should really be for.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/04/2025 16:56

I believe he’s managed to convince himself that he had (IPP status)

There's no "believe" about it, @jeffgoldblum; Harry claimed as much himself during Megxit, though the claim was removed within 24 hours

Another total lack of understanding, even about what suits

None at all ! , it almost unbelievable that someone could be so thick and uneducated about their own history, life , country and position!!
what exactly did he learn at his expensive school?

TizerorFizz · 08/04/2025 17:16

@Crucible There was a case in the High Court in January this year that reduced costs for both sides in the MGN vs Harry & co to just over £4,000,000 each. Harry and other claimants wanted over £18m. The court says this was “manifestly excessive”. Where costs are viewed as excessive they can be reviewed but Harry has the money for this if he loses. Where he lives is irrelevant.

Snorlaxo · 08/04/2025 17:18

It’s funny that bespoke doesn’t mean special or even unique when being “better” than his brother is an obvious motivation for him.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 08/04/2025 17:24

I always thought he needed someone like the Queen Mother was to George VI, or how Camilla seems to be with Charles. 'Come on, I know you don't fancy it today, but we'll have a little laugh in the car on the way and there'll be a nice lunch. Just a few hands to shake - they will be looking forward to seeing you - and we can be home in the bath with gin and tonics by 6 30. I've got a bag of toffees and and 20 Woodbines in my handbag for the journey. Let's bounce!'

ETA this was in response to @MrsMitford3

Exactly. I see "bespoke" as distinguished, expensive, special.....
