Tom was good friends with both W and H but W cooled things after the interview with H .
I would have thought it would be more in Tom’s interests to try to rekindle his relationship with the future King .

Maybe he thought there was more possibilities with Harry? A book, interviews etc

I think you are right.

I also think they were pitching for tv and film deals while working royals. Harry was just very clumsy at it and Meghan seemed clueless.

I think the wedding was a big pitch. They knew they weren't staying so invited Hollywood A listers in the hope an invite would smooth their way once they arrived in California. They had a 5 year plan before they married.

That's the sad truth, isn't it? Also, the understandable response to this medical revelation. Why not in Spare? In the Netflix series? In any number of magazine interviews?
Who knows what the truth is with them.

Well it wouldn't have been with Archie as she was in and out of hospital so quickly - according to Harry.

Yes he went to both weddings.
William completely cut Tom off after the South Africa tour. It wasn’t because he thought Tom was taking sides, it was actually because William thought that Tom had taken advantage of the situation for his own benefit and while Harry was vulnerable.

Harry is contesting that a bespoke assessment of his security needs wasn't as good as a 'normal ' assessment , saying he was singled out.

They manage to shoehorn their victimhood narrative into everything they do, don’t they?

Harry needs to read the room. They are talking oubout cutbacks for people with disabiltys, what on earth makes him think he can have his security funded? The man's in cloud coo coo land

glitterturd · 08/04/2025 10:47

It's off to a bad start with Harry's case as the lead has already been told off for her wanting to synthesise the points and being told that this should have been presented in the skeleton.

But I thought other royals had bespoke arrangements? Princess Anne only gets security when she is attending official engagements.

So Harry wants taxpayers to pay for his security in LA and if he decides to visit other countries because of "risk" - yet he voluntarily visited dangerous countries like Nigeria and Columbia last year

glitterturd · 08/04/2025 10:59

So much has happened in all the years in between / Harry is only ever here for court cases 🤷‍♀️

His argument is him his wife and kids at most at danger when in the UK.
he basically wants all guns blazing (literally) security whenever they deign to show up to the UK. What RAVEC want is 7 days notice and a case by case analysis. So he COULD still get all guns blazing security if it’s deemed appropriate and necessary. But no - he wants it all the time whenever he comes back. Because his brother has it all the time.

TheAutumnCrow · 08/04/2025 11:30

He further argues that if anything bad happened to him it would be bad for British morale as people would be sad. (Written submission, much earlier on in this case.)

It is , as far as I can make out they are arguing about the interpretation of policies.

RanyaJerodung · 08/04/2025 11:33

He may as well stand up in court and say "I want to be treated the same as William, at the taxpayers' expense and at my whim, even though I left 5 years ago and do no royal duties nor serve the UK in any way".

He really ought not to pull at that thread.

So he expects to just turn up in the UK on a whim - perhaps on a private, multi-million pound Netflix contract - and have UK taxpayers foot the bill for his security?

Yes.
Yes he does.
Also, not just security that Ravec decides, but security that he decides.

TheAutumnCrow · 08/04/2025 11:36

There’s now a separate thread on the RAVEC appeal hearing started by @smilesy for anyone interested.

It's here, @Profhilodisaster - ignore me if someone's already posted it:

Serenster linked it last night, along with the previous judgements which made interesting reading - especially the bit about Harry's claim that the process had "lacked transparancy"

Irony explosion right there Hmm
