I couldn't sit through all of that, and haven't seen WLM or the Drew interview, but I did just watch enough of this to see Meghan refer to Harry as "H" repeatedly. I'm actually shocked by that. Who goes on TV and refers to their husband by their initial and/or their private term of endearment? It was so awkward, too. The name is easier to say in a sentence than "H", repeatedly.

And, given how much she's said about his family over the years, I am willing to bet that referring to him as "H" is to put him on an even lesser footing than his relatives who she has always referred to as "his grandmother", "his father", "Kate", "your brother", "Fergie", never by their actual names or their titles (such as the one she introduces herself with). It's always been done to ram home that she's one of them (inside the royal family), and that they only matter as relatives of hers rather than as individuals in their own right.

And now she wants to be known as Meghan Sussex!

Seeing her now, after this many years of marriage and on national TV, referring to her husband as "H" is very, very creepy. It's very diminishing. I big my husband up in public, I don't reduce him to the role that he plays in my life with nary a name. It really is all about her. Diana said she thought there were three people in her marriage. I wonder if Harry feels there's only one person in his marriage!

I think she actually loathes him and can't bring herself to say his name.

I agree totally. It's actually really rude. Imagine if he called her 'M' all the time in public.

I don’t know what’s worse. The “H” or the “Haz” 🙈

It doesn't seem to be. She is interviewing people about how they started things. 🤷‍♀️

BasiliskStare · 13/03/2025 15:46

I know this isn't As ever but Meghan's new podcast announced. I won't be listening as I don't have a subscription & I'm not signing up just for this. In fact I'd never heard of Lemonada before but that is certainly be entirely me rather than a reflection on its popularity.

Has it been published how much the contract for this one is worth ? I've read that the total revenue for Lemonada for all podcasts is $8m so I suspect a much more modest amount than Spotify. I bet she won't stint on producing enough content this time round. 😊

But H is a step up from " my husband " which is her usual terminology much as if he were a pet or a possession.

My uncle’s second wife, also a pretty awful human, would refer to him by his full name “Geraldo” rather than “Ged” which he’d gone by his whole life. It sounds so unreasonable but it riled a lot of us, like she was trying to make him sound fancier than he was.

Are her tips on how NOT to to cock it up?

Onlyonekenobe · 13/03/2025 15:54

Hang on - so, As Ever was launched after she gleaned all these inside tricks and tips Confused Is this Meghan not listening to advice again?

garlicandsapphires · 13/03/2025 15:57

it's VERY early to be describing herself as a 'founder'! How about waiting to see if it actually gets off the ground?!

She is apparently interviewing others about how they started businesses. It's advertised as with 'Meghan'. No title.

If she is going down the business route, without her title, I wish her luck. The sole reason I am interested is the fact she still uses her title for her stuff. If she drops the title, now she seems to have stopped the attacks on the royal family, I'll wish her luck and stop commentating in the same way as I don't have anything to say about Goop.

To be fair, it's not clear whether she regards herself as a founder, she talks about interviewing people who are founders.

It's not the best title because from her post she is interviewing others but the title makes it sound as if she is doing all the confessing.

Weepixie · 13/03/2025 16:15

I didn’t recognise her on the picture accompanying the article. She’s changed colour and her face is much longer and thinner. Just why do people do this to themselves? How can you be authentic when you’ve drastically changed your face?

Thedom · 13/03/2025 16:24

Looks like it is another plagiarised title, someone else has a podcast with the same name 😃

She really is crazy.

BasiliskStare · 13/03/2025 16:34

Now I could actually see this working! IF

  1. She drops the gushiness - so she would IMO have to present quite differently to WLM - which may be a problem in itself hot on the heels of the WLM persona
  2. She opens up as well and is honest about the bloopers she's made in launching As ever , trademarks / rushed out launches etc
  3. She doesn't make it all about her - and it genuinely addresses problems pitfalls advice of people who have done it. A few of of her guests on WLM I think were women who founded their own businesses so I am sure she has her guests lined up. But Lemonada I think was founded by two women so I am sure they will be right behind this being a "serious " thing rather than a Meghan vehicle - by which I don't mean po-faced , amusing anecdotes would be good but this very much I would think have to be Meghan taking advice and being genuinely interested in the guests whilst admitting her own mistakes.
