I watched the Megan Kelly Show last night. I’m definitely not a fan of her politics but I find on some topics she can have an interesting discussion.
Her critique of the show was absolutely spot on for me.
She has young-ish children herself and she said it’s so, so unrealistic.
My other half’s two grandkids were with us yesterday, similar age as Megan’s two. Their mum is stylish and creative but watching her, she would never have time for any of this stuff. She’s a very family-orientated person and after us was visiting her own mum, then her sister.
A lot of women Meghan’s age have kids and are also caring for parents. You will know from MN they often end up doing errands for in-laws as well. Between that, and work, they don’t have time for any of the things in the show and yes, I’ve watched it.

Tom Bradby (mildly) challenged H over the "RF is racist" claim and H point-blank denied that he or M had ever made such an accusation.

Arguing with narcissists is pointless and frustrating - because they deny things and make things up as required to bolster their fragile self-esteem.

Did Tom not also ask about giving up their titles and received a very snippy response?

Anderson Cooper asked him and the reply was
"And what difference would that make?""

Omg- puff peice from people at how wonderful Meghan was to film with. It’s embarrassing.
Does anything sound familiar????!! They are just missing the part when they are supposed to say it was the best work day they had ever had!

https://people.com/meghan-markle-with-love-meghan-what-really-like-on-set-exclusive-11693475

‘Each week, Meghan did something thoughtful for the crew. "Whether it was a coffee cart in the morning or there was one day where the forecast called for it to be particularly hot, and she had a shaved ice truck for us at lunch," he says. "One day, she had a bespoke ice cream cart with local homemade ice cream. She had an acai truck for us, too. Every week, she did something like that for us. It was really lovely."’

Sound familiar? People magazine also putting out a puff piece when she became embroiled with the Duchess difficult nickname back in 2019.

‘ "I came by there one day, and she had ordered an incredible ice cream and sorbet stand for the office. They were remarking how it was the 'best day of work ever.' It warmed my heart to see her just continuing to be her and bring her style to the U.K."‘

So very embarrassing. So very performative.

@PeggyMitchellsCameo Is that the interview with Maureen O'Callaghan? MO pointed out that MM claims to be such good friends with her make up fellow, Daniel, but didn't realise he's left handed (the hand he will be using to do her make-up) or whether he's allergic to peanuts (surely if she's entertained this guy before, she'd know). And something about him not being invited to her wedding, but she obviously took him along to taste wedding cake samples.

Vespanest · 09/03/2025 12:30

The PR, whether directly or indirectly always has an extra 10% that takes away the credibility and can lead to contradictions. From the stories about conversations with the children, even the drew barrymore had the one with a catholic married father discussing on what Meghan should expect when she falls in love with the right man, if that true it's creepy. There is so many that are "elevated" and usually for indulgent reasons. There is always a part of the retelling that makes you go WTF

All the usual talk about how the crew were impressed by how 'approachable' and 'friendly' she is.

Why wouldn't she be 'approachable'? She's basically nobody in the entertainment industry. Are we meant to believe that the highly skilled crew members were intimidated by being in her duchessy presence?

She's Royal. That impresses a lot of people on here 😂

MidnightTales · 09/03/2025 13:13

Another thing that strikes me is that though MM is very crafty (and I don’t mean in the artistic sense either), she is also very dim. There is no real knowledge or understanding about anything beyond surface and performative takes. It is fitting that her latest occupation is less cooking and more adding sprigs of mint or decanting nuts - all surface. Even learning the British national anthem was all too much for her, haha. However she is or was very good looking; also Californian private-educated “polished”, superficially charming and has consumed a lot of “live laugh love” memes; and so wings it on that on all on fronts. But underneath it all - dim dim dim (as well as coming across as insincere). The results are very puzzling, a psychological confusion that is hard to make head or tail of at times. Interesting that her husband is also very very dim.

Meghan conflates giving gifts with being a good boss. That's what people who can't be genuinely nice do.

The worst boss I ever had was a prolific gift giver. She was still an utter bitch and made everyone's lives hell. But she thought she was amazing because of all the gifts.

Most people would prefer to be treated kindly and respectfully than given a gift basket (or an ice cream truck).

I'm puzzled as to why some people on here and elsewhere defend her, no matter what.
The only explanation is that they're full on royalists. She's royal.

Even the favourable pieces still say Markle, not Sussex! For the search engines, no doubt. Even the Princess of Wales is still referred to as Kate Middleton, so I don't think M will get anywhere however much she insists her name is Sussex now.

Quite the opposite.
'Full on royalists' respected the late Queen and did not appreciate H&M's disrespect of her.

@AtIusvue that People article is the biggest pile of desperate clap back have ever seen.

I note that the director was given a nickname "Brooklyn Bummer" because he would turn off the music and get them all back on track. I winced a bit when I read that, it's not a particularly nice thing to call someone.

Also, they are at pains to say that bits were filmed at their house and it is a bit of "paradise" as opposed to the dark and dingy kitchen/corridor bit we have seen before.

Then there's all the bloody coffee carts and ice cream trucks. Just flipping stop already - surely NF craft services should be dealing with this? It doesn't make sense.

She just can't make Sussex happen!

Also with regards the People article, they have leaned into the not aiming for perfection thing. Is that an excuse for why the whole thing seems so unfinished/light on content?

Don't get me wrong, I think this series was beautifully shot and the director obviously knows what he is doing. I really hope NF paid him a lot of money to do this.

Edited

If you’ve seen all the episodes…..you notice she certainly likes a drink. No wonder she just wanted to dance in between takes and the director was being a ‘Brooklyn bummer’ in her eyes.

In Ep 2, she offers Mindy a drink….its morning. When Mindy is suprised because of the time of day, Meg responds ‘welcome to Montecito’

👀

I think I’m more that Daniel guy’s friend than Meghan is! She knew nothing about him and he hadn’t made the cut for the wedding. The whole thing seemed quite awkward.

It went a bit better with the two friends, but still had a mean girls frenemies sort of air. And like those women eat anything - the middle one was extremely thin.

Dh (who agreed to watch!) said the show had a covid feel to it, especially the first two episodes and particularly the no kids kids’ party. The director had done a lot of covid era programmes apparently so maybe they liked the “trapped in your property” aesthetic.

Onlyonekenobe · 09/03/2025 14:26

I think I've got to why the Drew Barrymore appearance was so weird: I think MM went into that thinking she was the bigger/better/most superior of the two. Her entire demeanour was that of a woman who is trying to humbly/nicely but firmly assert her difference from Drew on the basis of her royal superiority. She (a self-confessed hugger) kept Drew at a distance throughout, physically and with unkindnesses and put downs (I hear you like to connect, oh that's so sweet my husband would love to see this photo of his most famous mom oh you've met her when I haven't?).

And yet, in Hollywood Drew is the superior of the two because of her achievements and her parentage; Drew has an eponymous show in which MM was merely guest #2,379; Drew has her own show of many seasons' standing and MM is pimping for jam and cookies following the airing of 8 universally-panned half hour episodes of lifestyle advertising. And to top it off, she also wanted to convey the message of a relatable (but not tooooo relatable, of course, her husband's Prince Harry after all which makes her a way more important and unique mom than Drew) Cali mom.

Like everything, and I suspect like her, it's confused and derivative and illogical and the net result is just all round ConfusedConfusedConfused faces.

Just awful. I see it as deeply manipulative, making people feel indebted to her so they then feel they cannot challenge her vile behaviour towards them.

It must be costing a fortune too. If they’re on their uppers, why does she waste so much money!

DuchessOfPort · 09/03/2025 14:31

Daniel Martin did MM’s make up the morning of the wedding and definitely attended the service as he said he was sitting near the Kingdom Choir.

He then did her make up again pre reception but I don’t know if he attended that.
