involving Markus Anderson is an enormous red flag!!

Agreed. What was she thinking?? Even back then, she should have known better.

Is it part of a PR's role to advise the client about how they interact with fans? If it isn't, it should be.

At the time she was communicating with this 13 year old girl, Suits had an age rating of Mature Audience only, there was no way she should have been encouraging and exploiting a few young teen superfans to promote her on SM.

I read somewhere that this girl had set up a fan club for Suits and Meghan was the only one to respond to it.

@MrsLeonFarrell you are getting hung up on terminology not actions. And your whataboutery is not addressing the very unique situation we have here: the star of an adult themed programme, making friends with/meeting with 23/14 year olds; her inappropriate (in the circumstances) male friend making lists of them (ie MM giving him access to their data); her becoming a quasi political figure of some prominence and standing, wielding this power to preach to everyone else about internet safety for children; her not using her expertise in this field into which she has thrust herself, to think whether is would be appropriate to re-kindle a relationship with the same young women, when it was inappropriate in the first place; the entire relationship clearly being about worship of MM, not in any way some sort of outreach to help these girls.

Tell me, would you have let your 13 year old daughter meet with the Louis guy from Suits in the same circumstances?

A YouTuber was called out for engaging with young fans. I think it’s slightly different as some of the messages referenced sex and she sent a teenage fan underwear but the ages are similar. So if the fans ever come to view it in a different light as they get older i don’t think it would just be glossed over given Meghan’s position and relationship with the media etc.

Colleen Ballinger, Miranda Sings and the unraveling of an online fandom

The YouTube star’s fan base is questioning their dedication to her, following allegations that the creator had inappropriate and exploitative relationships with underage fans.

I think it's more that the evidence seems to be coming from Reddit at the moment and I'm not sure about the provenance. There are some really nasty anti Meghan people there, the sort who believe they have evidence she was never pregnant for example.

Put that together with the way social media has changed fandoms and how they interact I'm not happy about going all in criticising Meghan at the moment. That isn't to say that if this proves to be true I will still support her, I won't. There is clear, credible evidence of Meghan bullying people, I need to same to convince me she isn't doing what many others do.

To change subjects for a sec, I can't believe the bullying has been brushed under the table by the media. So many people have had to leave public life for far less evidence.

LovelyJubly12 · 08/03/2025 18:41

There is a documentary on tonight on channel 5 about them at 9.15pm . Not sure if it’ll be any good.

FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger · 08/03/2025 18:50

I'm not on/don't read Reddit @MrsLeonFarrell . I am basing my thoughts on objective evidence that gets my safeguarding hackles up. And the sheer hypocrisy of her work within the Parent Network and thinking what she did the other night was ok.

RE the bullying: while H&M fill the column inches and get the clicks, the media is not going to shoot the golden goose with a story resulting in their cancellation. That's my opinion, anyway.

I agree that the Parent Network and what she says about social media is counter to her current Instagram campaign. I am also worried about those grieving parents who were used for publicity and don't seem to be being helped in any useful way. Is the network even up and running or is it another 40 x 40.

Maybe I misread the thread, I thought the evidence was coming from Reddit. My apologies if that was not the case.

My safeguarding hackles are at the moment more worried by the Parent Network but I do think that the way celebrities interact with fans on social media does need looking at. And not by people who make their living on Instagram.

As said on an earlier thread some of these girls deleted huge chunks of their own Twitter prior to hide their behaviour, most of 2024 gone (Kate), one boasts about loving to bully Meghan haters and sharing that "Charles is a pussy". Netflix and therefore Meghan would have known but apparently online bullying is fine dependant on who it is.

You can see " warnings" put on the insta of one girl about her X postings.

@MrsLeonFarrell the evidence is mentioned on Reddit but it is out there for anyone to look at. All of the previous I posted earlier today was just from a few minute of googling.

I'm not good at goggling this sort of thing, what did you put in the search?

glitterturd · 08/03/2025 19:27

There is a Daily Mail article with the girl/woman named in it . From there go to her Instagram and read the comments. It's easy.

I cannot see H and M letting themselves be interviewed by anyone who is likely to ask tricky questions !!
Piers Morgan ? Andrew Neil ?

Quite.

Early indications evident in the now pulled Oprah embarrassment. Didn't Harold get visibly rattled with some quite mild questioning over The Title fairly recently?

Newsnight can and will whistle 🎤

Did anyone see Woopi Goldberg from
The view cutting Meghan duchess whatever trying to secure Oscar tickets

Brilliant news

Not2identifying · 08/03/2025 22:24

It's actually quite good (the Channel 5 show). No new info but a decent summary and an interesting discussion about the future of W & H's relationship.
