Blue Peter doing a piece on Princess Anne passing her HGV licence.

i remember Princess Anne being on Blue Peter quite a bit. Did she join them all on one of their summer expeditions (gosh I was jealous of those presenters!).

I definitely remember being told we were having a day off when Princess Anne got married to the captain. But I’m fairly aware I knew of the royals before then but I can’t remember why. I think they were just there.

At nursery, making bunting to celebrate Charles and Di's wedding!

The Queens Silver Jubilee, we got a day off school, and the village held a fete, and all the children got a voucher to give to the ice cream van man for a free ice cream. I am sure I was aware of the royals before this, but this is my first memory of anything concrete happening.

Charles and Diana’s wedding. Neighbour across the way was watching in black and white so kids had to run back and fore to tell her what colour the likes of Princess Margaret was wearing 🤣… as an adult guessing the Mums colluded and just wanted to keep us busy!

That’s funny. I could picture that scene.

Princess Anne's wedding for me as well. We went to my Granny's next door neighbour's house as she had a big colour telly.

I also remember being fascinated by the picture the neighbour had of her daughter in a wedding dress when she was quite young and couldn't understand it until my Mum explained it was a first communion dress.😀

Silver Jubilee 1977. School outing wearing red, white and blue to line the route as HM Queen Elizabeth went by. I absolutely loved it and almost 50 yrs later still believe in the Royal Family and am proud to be English.

Did HMQE wear the pink hat with the tassels on it for the Silver Jubilee or was that a different occasion? She wore a pink coat and, the only time I ever saw her wear them, T-strap shoes.

My first memory isn't linked to an event in their life but an event in mine, when I played a Queen in a play in infant school.

My first concept of royalty was from Disney films (such as Sleeping Beauty and Snow White).

Then I had a growing awareness of the Queen (QEII) from seeing her on stamps and money.

And then I discovered that she had a husband (this came as a surprise because I knew we didn't have a King so I had thought the Queen was unmarried).

My first memory of Diana is from pictures of her on holiday not that long before she died. I knew about her, Charles, William and Harry.

The Queens jubilee in 77 was a big thing. That's my first big memory, though would have been aware before.

I think poss Princess Anne's wedding but it's very vague the silver jubilee in 1977 much clearer we had a street party and all the kids got a cup and a coin at school next event I can remember after that was Charles and di wedding
