I noticed the old thread is almost full so thought we could start a new one to carry on the discussion about the rebrand and merching.

Are you an ‘As Ever’ or ‘Whatever’?

Another bingo card entry
Making a cute packed lunch for the children ( maybe heard off camera?) once she's figured out what a lunch box is.

I truly hope so. The lemons annoy me, as you've probably gathered😂

@Uricon2 Are you OK? I know not many people will have asked you how you are.

😂🍋

Sorry about the lemon.

CathyorClaire · 22/02/2025 20:53

Apparently Netflix are going to drop all 8 episodes of Love Meghan at once

I'm catching up as ever but if this is true it bears out my theory that NF are merely going through the motions to fulfil whatever ridiculous original deal they made and shake the Harold's dust.

It’s ok @Uricon2. If life gives you lemons, you can make Lemonada 🤪

CathyorClaire · 22/02/2025 21:13

Lemonada merch an inspirational 'Fail Better' tee.

Oh.

elprup · 22/02/2025 21:43

She does have a lovely voice!

FromThePrismOfJammyTodger · 22/02/2025 21:47

My bingo card entries:

Sticking raspberries on her fingers to be "cute";

Writing messages to her kids on bananas;

Serving Harry spooning bananas as a form of culinary foreplay;

Telling the audience not to be intimidated by toast making (the bread in toaster-oven kind, not a speech); and topping it with something quite interesting sounding, like her grandma's apple butter, which she will then resolutely not show us how to make;

Copying everything Catherine said to/did with Mary Berry in their 2019 Back To Nature program, including making pizza dough, decorating cupcakes, and wearing a similar polka dot dress;

On second thoughts, if life gives you lemons, you can make nada 😆

StartupRepair · 22/02/2025 21:52

Bingo card should include doubling over with laughter. And I fear some compassionate hand holding of people who have lost their houses in the fires. Also some coy references to 'when I lived in England'.

‘When I was in the Institution’ ,more like it!

She’s copying Ina Garten (barefoot contessa) with the vase of lemons. Old hat from years ago.

Carrots two ways? Apparently the roast chicken engagement spring to mind.

@Baital Mine just flowered indoors - I do have to live with quite a few plants in the winter, could you not squeeze it indoors?

Maybe I need to bring it inside.

The wormery has gone wild in the shed....

@MummyJ12 There’s a fairly new parody channel on Youtube called Ham who can really encapsulate the pair’s absurdity. (Which I’ve only just realised is styled as HaM) with a cartoon joint of ham as its logo.

When it comes to parody they really are the gift that keeps on giving.

Edited

I LOVE Ham. The one where Meghan flogs jam in the Netflix store with the strawberry jam song is great!
Edited for typos.

BemusedAmerican · 23/02/2025 01:45

Add milkshakes to the bingo card.

Honey is generally added to coffee or tea. You can buy whipped honey to spread on bread, sometimes flavored with cinnamon.

smilesy · 22/02/2025 19:25

As I have already said, I like butter and jam in a croissant but I think the idea of honey in or on a croissant is bleugh 🤢. Why is she even putting honey anywhere near it, let alone the fact that she has rendered it impossible to eat. Does she even know what a croissant is?

I really like honey on croissants! But I spread the honey on the inside bit, not the outside.

Baital · 23/02/2025 05:07

And is there honey still for tea?

I am shocked by all this talk of croissants with honey.

On toast (white bread) with lashings of butter, in baklava, or drizzled on fruit and Greek yoghurt.

Anything else is a travesty.

GiveMeSpanakopita · 23/02/2025 07:33

There's a rumour doing the rounds that Meghan is deliberately setting As Ever up to fail because under Delaware company law, loss making firms in their first three years get a big tax rebate.

I think this is a daft rumour but it says a lot for the amateurishness of the roll-out that I did briefly entertain it.

I think the fundamental problems with the roll-out are two-fold:

  1. She's clearly doing it on the very cheap - I've speculated elsewhere as to why I think this might be
  2. As Ever relies for its success on Meghan's personal brand, and her personal brand is dreadful - confusing and inauthentic. Since 2018 Meghan seems to have struggled with who she wants to be seen as: is she the resourceful, whip-smart hustler? The serene and wise yoga-loving spiritualist? The committed philanthropic feminist, au fait with the complexities of global politics? The simple American girl, ditsy and sweetly confused by the strange doings of the fuddy-duddy British aristocracy? The endearingly chaotic down-home mom, gathering her galz around for wine o'clock and giggles? The fearless Black activist, bravely exposing and holding colonialism and racism to account? The A-list glamourous woman wowing her peers on the red carpet? Some, most or all of the above?
BasiliskStare · 23/02/2025 07:55

No clothing allowed for As Ever it seems . Which I would have thought not brilliant for her as I think she does suit the white shirt / jeans / blazer more laid back style of clothing . And apparently with some things she has worn the clothing sells out - so if she wore her own stuff that might generate sales. Anyway I thought her team said they had done a worldwide search for trade marks ( but I may have read this about the coat of arms. ) . No matter - here - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14425751/Meghan-Markle-BANNED-brand-Chinese-firm.html

MrsLeonFarrell · 23/02/2025 08:11

As least WLM is appearing on the Coming Soon Netflix tab. Not near the top, but it was on there when I scrolled across. I watched a couple of episodes of The Crown recently to see if it made their programmes appear on my feed at all.

I don't like The Crown, first time I'd given it a go. I was surprised how many people I've met think it's the truth!

Stickystickysticky · 23/02/2025 08:23

@BasiliskStare I'm confused, if she filed the name As Ever in 2023 why did she then use ARO ?

Uricon2 · 23/02/2025 08:25

@smilesy @BasiliskStare I'm trying to find a suitably dewy eyed yet brave look to thank you for your kindness 😥😂

I completely agree with Meghan’s confusing personal brand. It’s highlighted by the cranking up of the promotional pieces to support WLM that are coming out now. Like this piece in Page Six, which starts off with this quote:

“Nobody knows who she really is,” said a TV insider who has had a glimpse at the show. “[The world] created this image of who they think she is.”

If Meghan hasn’t shown us her who she really is now, after the Tom Bradbury interview, Oprah, several hours of the Netflix documentary, her podcast, her various magazine articles and Harry’s account of her in Spare, I genuinely think that’s on her, not her audience. Few other public figures have had that kind of intensive coverage, led entirely by her.

It smacks is of her not yet having hit on a persona that people find compelling and likeable, not that she hasn’t yet shown us her authentic self.

@Stickystickysticky Don't ask me - I have no idea about how to launch a brand 😂

( but then so it would appear nor has Meghan - and she's got more skin in the game than I )

By the way did you manage to unsubscribe ? That was you wan't it? Apologies if not - memory like a sieve.

Stickystickysticky · 23/02/2025 08:43

@BasiliskStare No , I still haven't had an email from AsEver so I can't unsubscribe, I'm wondering if there's some sort of regulatory body that I can report the issue to.
