The whole shtick about getting back to what she is passionate about, having been restricted by the horrible royal family, works until you consider:

Catherine and William baking cakes with Mary Berry and delivering home made pasta to people in Sandringham during covid.

Catherine using her drawings at various points.

The many crafts Charles is interested in and has championed for decades.

These are the three that lept to mind. It's hard to avoid the feeling that she is making it up, again.

Even if we think about commercialisation, pretty much every royal house sells stuff in the gift shop. The difference is that Meghan wants to keep the profit and royals can't.

We know the instas are going to go into overdrive over the next few weeks.

She has wholly crossed from the royal world into the influencer world. There, a whole load of younger people online will have something to say about the latest influencer hustling their wares. It won’t just be us older salty brits.

Many people are worried about Trump right now and the headlines are dominated with ever changing news. I’ve read a lot of democrats are feeling so despondent that they’ve just switched off. As a champion of feminism, social justice warrior….who is now trying to sell you trad wife guff. Who exactly is she speaking to?
Those on the right (although that really has no meaning anymore, everything is in flux) will see her as woke and won’t connect- even though the content is trad wife friendly.
Those on the left (again, whatever that means these days) will be put off by the conservative values she’s espousing. The little wife at home in pretty dresses, making delicious home cooked meals for her family.

At 43, she’s a millennial with an out of date look. Her fashions and her home decor- boring beige. She’s not bringing anything new to the millennial influencer world. She’s too old to connect to young people.

I wonder who the research says will buy her stuff?

Disclaimer: I know nothing about how these commercial deals are negotiated, but could it possibly be that Netflix are using Markle to promote these new stores of theirs? Whether or not the series takes off, people will go into these places out of curiosity.

So it's all 'aspirational' but very ill judged, especially in current climate.

Do champions of feminism really appear in Ads such as the one she did for a BBQ? I ask because I was told by her fans here a couple of years ago that feminism is about choice and as Meghan had chosen to do the ad she was in fact a champion of feminism.

Is that the case? Not that I believe it is but I’ve always wanted to ask.

I have a picture in my mind of a shop similar to an M&M store and I’m mortified for them.

It sounds a bit QVC to me. Not that you can’t make big money on shopping channels but it’s not where you’d position a high end brand.

Maybe this kind of thing ?

Maybe the people who would buy Bridgerton stuff in a shop would like Meghan's stuff ?
