How will the Royal Family end?

The Royal Family will end. Not yet obviously. But within the next generation.

People often assume institutions like this fall slowly and gradually. We see a bit of that already happening with the reduction in "working" Royals, far less favourable poll results than when Queen Elizabeth reigned, and the willingness of the media to be more critical of the Royal Family.

I have seen people commenting assuming this means the Royal family will end soon. I think they misunderstand what is happening.

But society is changing and the deference that Queen Elizabeth attracted can no longer be taken for granted. Colonies are no longer happy for the Royals to carry out cosplay colonial tours on their soil, and increasingly they will remove the King as their Head of State. But I think when the end comes it will be sudden and unexpected. Similar to the fall of the Soviet Union. A clear weakening of the institution, but then a sudden, and shocking fall.

The aftermath will be very messy though as the Royal family try and fight for as much of the states wealth as they can, using the courts if they need to.

The Queen's own statement at her last jubilee said she wished Camilla to be known as Queen Consort. It certainly wasn't after she died.

She is known as Queen Consort. She is also known as Queen Camilla. Her being crowned and titled Queen Consort is exactly what the 2022 statement said was going to happen.

Some people remain insistent that it meant she always meant to be titled as Queen Consort in every mention rather than Queen Camilla or just Queen Consort. There's no suggestion this was ever the intention. It does appear some people still think the title of Queen Consort was invented just a few years ago.

It went further back than this. We were told at around the time of c&c marriage that she would never be known as Queen.

There was a lot public negativity towards C&C at the time. However times change.

Would those be same Russian agents that Andrew was leaking information to ?

The Windsors are a threat to national security.

And as for their habit of befriending pedophiles - and worse in the files- what decent person is not repulsed by the Windsors and sick of their lies and obfuscation?

The 1000 year claim is laughable The Hanoverians were what - about 65th in line ? Nevermind all the fudges and breaks in the line before and after. The history will still be there just not the corrupt leaches we tolerate at the moment

Andrew yes, via JE is what is being suggested.

Re the 1000 year claim, its not so much the individuals /house (hanoverians or windsor) is the constitution how our laws , judiciary armed forces are so embedded with the monarchy. My point was to contrast Brexit which is probably the most recent constitutional change on a large scale with becoming a Republic. I think a slower progression would be better, no exemptions to FOI requests, slimmed down monarchy, MPs ( our representatives) able to discuss said rf members where pertinent, more financial accountability for starters.

Im afraid the 1000 monarchy claim is void

It’s a fanciful narrative - part of the propaganda really
There are many breaks , never mind the fact that the whole ‘claim’ is based on William the conqueror invading and taking over by force lol .
1701 ( from memory - I could have the wrong date here ) shows us that there was no pretence of an unbroken line . Skipping over 64 people with a better ‘claim’ an selecting someone purely because they are Protestant , and the removal of Andrew ( this is being resisted by the Windsors ) proves that it’s nonsense

And when was the UK actually formed ? Early 1800 s ? 200 hundred years then.
Scotland and Wales both want rid of the Windsors but their wishes are ignored

Americans are always told off for calling Charles King of England - but in fact they are right . He’s king of women ( mainly 65 plus) from the south of England . That’s it . And that support is quite literally dying off

The uk is better than this .

If they could put on a fun, happy, successful event, it would do their image so much good, the trouble is they won’t have another wedding for a good 15-20 years. They need to win back people’s respect and fast.

I also think they'll end, but will be in my children's generation rather than mine. Everything comes to an end eventually, nothing is forever.

They've had two magnificent knees-ups at our expense in well under four years along with a couple of hugely costly weddings in less than a decade.

How many more family jollies do you think we should fund?!
