With this new authentic Insta post where Meghan positions herself as a go between in securing some signed merchandise I think there's still plenty to discuss.
This is a new image. No make up. Carefully edited insta. New lips. Is this influencer territory? Mention of " my husband and l " Echoes of the Queen ?

Why so black or white. Every parents gets to decide what images and videos of their children they will post on social media until the children can decide for themselves.

If you want to protect your children from possible negative scrutiny from trolls on SM, and from the toxic tabloid media - the easiest way to do that is to just not release any photos of them at all.

Plenty of celebs make this choice. eg. I've never seen a photo of the Clooney children.

Edit: especially not on your very public "business" account.

Thanks @Uricon2 for that article. It's so interesting to read that. Let's be honest there's been little to nothing about the athletes and the games in the news . It has all been about Meghan and Harry. Some might say well the whole purpose of the event is the participation by the vets and it doesn't need reporting but I would say that yes it does if it is to continue to attract sponsors and others' interest and participation. This is bad news for Invictus.
We then have the targeting of Tom Bowers at the event with the results of it being out there in public too! Is this what Invictus wants? Some Squaddies hounding people and putting on line? That's not what Invictus is about - whether Meghan is criticised or not. It's actually disgraceful !

Yes. Meghan and Harry want the celebrity lifestyle and the associated clicks, likes, headlines and followers. Fine. That's their lifestyle - let them get on with it.
It's also true that they can post whatever pictures they want of their children. They have done so in the past (see my post above). Their choice.
They really only have their royal status and proximity to sell, so they should go for it. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet's images won't generate a huge income though, although I could be wrong.

It’s now been confirmed by People magazine that “the ring was an anniversary gift from Prince Harry last year, crafted by a private jeweler”. It has their shared monogram - an H and M underneath a coronet. The same as appears on their doormat.

@Serenster - do you mean Harry's got one of those signet rings too

NORTY Basilisk . Sorry all that was a cheap jibe.

They can post what they like, of course. But people tend not to like the hypocrisy of talking about online safety and protecting their chilldren's privacy one minute, only to wheel them out the next, when Mommy needs to rehab her brand and increase her insta followers.

NormaMajors1992coat · 15/02/2025 10:25

It's a bit like the lecturing on climate change while repeatedly taking private jets, or misinformation while repeatedly telling lies, or privacy while repeatedly breaching the privacy of others.

FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger · 15/02/2025 10:27

People certainly do not like the hypocrisy of them using their platform and political connections to call for censorship "for the sake of the children," whilst at the same time exploiting their own - and very frequently other people's - for attention and monetary gain. Pick a lane, you complete wassocks.

FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger · 15/02/2025 10:29

Bleating about security and demanding tax payer funded protection and IPP status, claiming the UK is a dangerous hellhole for them, then going to some of the most dangerous places on the planet for no reason whatsoever....

BasiliskStare · 15/02/2025 10:31

Of all the criticism of Meghan I have , keeping her children out of the spotlight is not one. There is IMHO no legitimate public interest in them. I know she has not shown their faces but to me having even hands and back of the head seems to be a little - here I am with my children - so sort of using them but in a low key way.

Re W&K I think there is legitimate interest in the heirs of the heir but they seem to be doing photos in quite a controlled way ( as they should. )

JSMill · 14/02/2025 22:24

To be fair, William and Catherine posted theirs first but I do appreciate there is a time difference. However it is in line with a trend from them recently of sharing much more personal experiences, which makes sense given the difficult year they have had.

But why do we need to see it at all from either couple?
Each to their own as ever, but I'm really not keen on these kissy-kissy pictures they seem so keen on now - just keep it to yourselves FGS

Thedom · 15/02/2025 08:42

Meghan is merching the kids while Harry is merching his long dead mother in a Canadian interview about Invictus.

It really is a circus.

.

And all while the games are still on and they might - just might - focus attention on the vets rather than themselves

Some hope Hmm

Yes, their hypocrisy is quite astounding.

I agree. It’s not necessary.

MissFenellaPrism · 15/02/2025 10:42

Harry is still talking about his mother? Is that all he has to contribute? Is that his only selling point?

As well as being critical of people who have more than 1 or 2 kids, and shame if you have 5 of them (in an interview about the Invictus Games 😳).

He really talks through his ass.

He’s completely and utterly obsessed with her. It’s not healthy.

'Pictures taken of the Sussexes need to be signed off by them before they can be released, so sometimes we see the pictures quite quickly, other times it can take up to a day.'

At a public event, which the Sussexes are supposedly promoting for the benefit of Invictus and its athetes? Makes it quite clear what really matters to Meghan and Harry, doesn’t it.

Yes, it was the same with the quasi royal tour of Nigeria.

No. All that therapy doesn't seem to have helped. Although, as pp have said, you have to want to progress with counselling, rather than just let it confirm your issues.

He does. It's the privilege, isn't it? They're both the same.
He thinks his status and title gives him special rights to pronounce on matters, whether or not he has any knowledge or understanding.

After all this time, when he still feels he has to reference who his mother was and, therefore, who his children's grandmother was, then, yup, it does seem all he has.
He obviously doesn't trust that people will work out the connection between his offspring and Diana (or even remember much about her) so he has to spell it out.
Maybe he judges people's intelligence by his own?

So what time limit is there for people with it comes to talking about their mum? 3 yrs after she has died? 5yrs? 10yrs? Never allowed to?

MaturingCheeseball · 15/02/2025 10:57

It that land mine story and Archie, of course connected to Diana…

So just because you don't like pictures of people kissing why do you get to tell other people to keep it to themselves? If you see people kissing as you walk by them do you tell them to keep it to themselves and stop kissing in public?
