Perhaps not @Needmorelego but as it came on the heel of another poster wrongly correcting "hen " to "hon" and not apologising after , it looked that way .

jeffgoldblum · 30/01/2025 16:29

I'm used to hen as my dh is Scottish 😂

LaMarschallin · 30/01/2025 16:32

In "The Pusuit of Love" Fanny and the Radletts talk about "Hons" and "Hens" and one of them (Linda probably) says she'd love to live in "a dear little Hon house". One of the siblings disabuses her of this notion by saying they'd seen a hen laying an egg once "and it had a most terrible look on its face".
I've read these books a lot

I also do know some upper class families and the nicknames are all a bit mad: "Ratty", "Bodger", the Old Trout.

Wonder if either will have a 3rd?
They might. Their cousins William and Zara did. The King and is siblings had 2 each.

I've always thought Charles and Diana would have aimed to have a third - an heir, a spare and a bonus - but by the time Harry was a couple of years old the two of them were already pretty separate. A shame, I expect William especially now would have really benefited from another sibling.

She said something about it being a miracle he was conceived at all so things were not very active shall we say. She also said from the point Harry was born that was the end of ‘intimacy’.

Serenster · 30/01/2025 21:18

Diana also said that when she was pregnant with Harry it was one of the happiest times in their marriage. It was after his birth that things went south.

(I have always thought that that sounded about right - things going wrong after 3-4 years in a relationship where the couple had very different interests and personalities. Add in the stress of a young family and demanding roles, and even with staff to help it’s not that surprising that they grew apart rather than together).

That's exactly what I said to dh!

Love the name Athena. So pretty. Although they have gone with Greek this time compared to Italian with Sienna. They should have picked Aurelia or Aurora to keep the Italian theme going 😉

So now Andy and Fergie have 2 grandsons from Eugenie (August and Ernest) and 2 granddaughters from Beatrice. Its a perfect combo 👌

Opening post in the three 'E' household will be a nightmare when they're older!

HouseAshamed · 01/02/2025 14:34

@DidSomeoneTrump , what three 'E' household?

Words · 01/02/2025 14:47

Me too @LaMarschallin.

They also refer to being pregnant as 'in pig'. Like the pet sow. Love it.

Eugenie's is Jack, August and Ernest.

Beatrice's is Edo, Sienna and Athena.

So who did you mean?
