Netflix has delayed start of Meghans show

Just seen on Sky News. Breaking News headlines. Delayed because of the wild fires didn't say if this was technical difficulties or it would be a bit crass to launch a frothy type lifestyle show with all the devastation. Anyway it might be shelved for good with any luck.

And we're these pictures published by the British media? I don't recall ever seeing those. Also the UK does not have the same law that California has about taking pics of celebrities children.

Edited

No - the mainstream UK media don’t touch them usually - although they do publish glimpses of the kids in the back of the cars.

Spectre8 · 16/01/2025 18:13

Atlasvue · 16/01/2025 18:10

What are you talking about?

It clearly states, that there is the threshold of harassment and it constitutes what it’s likely to meet that bar of harassment. It’s very difficult to meet that bar.

That’s why you see pics of celebs kids all the time.

This is embarrassing

I'm not the one criticisng someone for wearing a baseball hat, nor am I the one going on about how you never see her children photographed.

Why if you clearly don't like them do you want to see their children?

wigsonthegreenandhatsforthelifting · 16/01/2025 18:06

Because they would probably be papped by a long lens???

How do you know either?!

Neither of us have a clue. You talk as if you know these people. You do not. They are total strangers to you. They might keep their kids locked up in a cupboard, or spend hours every day taking them in playdates and to private beaches. Neither of us have a clue.

Yes, far from being the toxic British press, they don’t print such photos of the kids or those of Royals taken in certain circumstances.

Hence why the ‘car chase’ pictures in NY were all over the US media but not one paper printed them here in the UK

Harry forgets about that though.

And the photos are incredibly poor quality.

Doesn’t matter for pap shots. The value is the subject matter, not the composition or the focus. All of these were sold and published.

smilesy · 16/01/2025 18:17

MerryMaker · 16/01/2025 17:55

@smilesy He is 5. In five months time he is 6.
Lilibet is 3 years old.

He is still not a toddler. 5 year olds are at school here. I used to take my then toddler to watch his brothers playing rugby. He didn’t have a clue what was going on but had a great time running around and playing with the many other toddlers that were there, so even Lily would enjoy a polo match for that reason. There are families present

My point is

Meghan, wearing her ‘tragedy’ uniform of baseball cap and jeans, is designed to make her look like she trying to appear incognito.

However, by the very fact we never see pictures of her children, we know that if meghan doesn’t want a photo, she knows how to go about it. It’s NOT because Californian law prevents it, it’s because Meghan prevents it.

Yet, of the two days helping out in LA- there just so happens to be photos of meghan within hours of her visits. Why? Because she wants to be photographed for PR reasons. Lots of celebs have helped over the last few days and there’s no pictures of them.

NotaRealHousewife · 16/01/2025 18:26

@Atlasvue Most of us get your very good point, others choose not to

I rather feel they'll be described as "toddlers" or "tiny children" or, eventually, "192 months old" for as long as it pulls at the heartstrings. Like calling one's father "Daddy" pulls at the same heartstrings.

Thedom · 16/01/2025 18:46

The main point is that it was another staged photo opportunity by Meghan, none of her staff or bodyguards in the frame, hauling two massive bags with the store brand in full view, as IF she carries her own bags, where was her handbag carrier assistant that day?.

The photo was taken to be published, if she didn't want any photos, her staff would have stepped in and either obscured the view or not allowed it to happen in the first place. Remember how quickly her staff stepped in to stop the guy at Wimbledon, who was actually taking a selfie 😂.

As someone pointed out, these photos are full on frontal of Meghan's face, ensuring there can be no doubt about who it is and where she is.

I have zero idea who would buy them. There are plenty of decent photos of Charlotte and George

One of the children is a toddler.
I did not say Archie a toddler. I said I would not want to take a toddler to a polo match. Lilibet IS a toddler.

Surely it is a very dangerous environment to just let toddlers run about at?

WeCantGoOverIt · 16/01/2025 18:51

A toddler is a child who is still toddling rather than walking - normally around 1 to 2 years old.

WeCantGoOverIt · 16/01/2025 18:52

A 3 year old is not a toddler

A 3 year old is not a toddler

Lots of places, including wikipedia and the NHS, define a toddler as 1-3 years old.

elessar · 16/01/2025 18:55

For those adamant that photos of Meghan's children could not be taken in California without parental permission, I assume by the same logic you would agree that these photos linked below, taken of Meghan and Archie in 2021 and featured in Page Six must have been by her permission?

x.com/pagesix/status/1385560713419182080?s=46&t=w79BC1n6CecVprz0KxygEg

FWIW, I think that paps probably are generally fairly respectful around photos of children, so my belief here is that this was a staged photo op. I believe, though can't remember for sure - that Harry was in the UK at the time. Coincidentally I'm sure, I think he was also out of the country when Meghan got papped in Canada with Archie as well.

But I also agree with the point that Meghan is well able to keep her kids out of the public eye when she chooses, and I don't think for a second that her charity visits were publicised without her knowledge or express wish.

I have a 3 year DGC who is never referred to as a toddler ; she is a little girl .

God, I love the internet. What’s this thread about, again?

Yes, and what of it?

You're the one who said:
"@wordler You are wrong!!
It is about taking any photo of celebrities kids in public without the parents consent. Doing this counts as harassment"

So presumably you must agree that Meghan consented to this photo?

MerryMaker · 16/01/2025 19:15

@elessar Long lens pap shops are allowed. I said they tend to be terrible photos

Well presumably it is possible to supervise them and keep them away from the actual field of play. It’s called parenting….

eta you said “why would people take toddlers?” I assumed you were including Archie. But they could still take Archie and not Lily if you want to impose a toddler ban

Right……..so people can take pictures of her kids. And the reason why we don’t see pics of them- is because Meghan doesn’t take them out in public.

NOT because laws have stopped the pictures being printed.

So not just letting them run about then, but very carefully supervising them?
Its irrelevant to the royal family, just I would never take young children to a polo match as it sounds stressful
