ARO update

At the end of August, there was a partial rejection of the ARO trademark because of the name and descriptions. Also issues with the logo.
They had 3 months to rectify, which you would think would be ample time.

But just a few days before the deadline, an extension has been applied for. Which would be another 3 months

So it’s obviously not an easy fix, I’m sure there have been countless people working to get this done and they have months! Yet they’ve not been able to sort it.

Seemingly, you are only allowed one extension. This would take her to the end of February. So pretty much a year since she’s launched and it’s no further forward, if anything she’s in a worse position. What a disaster.

Yes it was ugly. Bit late of him to be worried about the children after telling the world their Dad threw him on a dog bowl. Harry should have kept quiet about the kids. I got dragged by a lot of the squad on Twitter when I said it. William and Kate are sure to do what they need to do to protect their own children, it was not Harry’s place at all.

Because the disclaimer is just one of the issues, there are two to three more. What are you not getting?

You have stated that it’s a simple disclaimer that the examiner explained how to fix and they will get a TM

So what did the examiner say regarding the geo description and how it can be fixed and why hasn’t Meghan done so in the 3 months given?

Meghan had to say she has no exclusive right to the geo location apart from the mark.

Not that she wanted a right to the location in the first instance.

but you just said it wasn't just that issue ....so what other issues are there ?

The logo description (they couldn’t make out the O in the logo) and the classification of goods. Fixable things. The examiner wrote it all down. I read the whole document 🤷🏽‍♀️

So that means they can’t get a TM to ARO if they have no exclusive use of American riviera

I am genuinely interested. If she succeeds they might well put all their energies in that and move on from the past.

it seems a bit odd to me, if the aim is to tie her retail business to the Netflix show, which at last puff piece, she was excited about it coming out early 2025. Which means only a few months to go, if that timeline is going to stick and it's all going to happen comfortably before the Netflix renewal point in September.

(I'm assuming "early" = up to the end of April, possibly the first half of May, as a after that would usually be "the middle of next year". Though realise US speech habits might be a bit different, and it stretches to the start of June).

Why do they need 3 months to submit this disclaimer? They only need to copy and paste.

the disclaimer would make the trade mark worthless. They are probably trying to find some way around it.

They are saying you aren’t going to get exclusive use of the American riviera part of the name, so drop this.

Therefore they ain’t going to get a TM for full name of ARO

So why haven't they done that already? If it is that simple, why do they need an extension?

I'm less interested in the trademark shenanigans than in who is going to be the target market for this brand, if it ever sees the light of day. Also, given that Meghan has no social media and is rarely seen at A list events, how is she going to promote her wares? One NF show, again if it ever materialises, isn't going to carry an entire brand.

You can't just pop up one day and say 'Here's my brand. You should buy things from it.'

• That meghan is the CEO of her brand. Which explains a helluvah lot
• That she isn’t working solely with Archewell staff
• Thats she’s launching the brand and cooking show in the early months of 2025

Full of absolute nonsense such as:

“She’s been keeping her cards close to her chest”- which means nothing

and

““As far as Meghan being quiet, she’s been in the background working on her entrepreneurial efforts” - which again means nothing. She can’t even get her TM through

So if both the brand and cooking show are to launch early next year- theres no way ARO will be the name. The extension just buys time and she will launch with a new name and new cooking show- before the extension time runs out.
