Meghan at glitzy launch party

Meghan in LA this week at some fancy launch party. Think these are her friends who own a high end salon.

The wavy hair has made a return, I’m guessing this is the new look she’s going for, for the rebrand. Jury is out out for that particular style- mid parting, flat waves. Thinks she suits a side part, with full waves. But hey!

Personally I like the paired down eye make up look. I always thought the heavy lashes and dark shadows were a bit much for royal duties (I feel Kates is far too heavy on the smokey eye too!)

But it sure does make her look different. I do think ita just make up and not surgery…but other posters are better at spotting these things.

Harry not there. They are her friends, so no real reason but when it’s a social event, doesn’t look great that they aren’t together….again

@Puzzledandpissedoff I agree. I mean even the Dispatches stuff is something they have brought upon themselves. Like I said, I am not a royalist/monarchist and I think it’s an outdated institution.

I also think H&M are ridiculous. And actually they are and were desperate to be royal
but on their terms. They thought they would throw a hissy fit (but still retain titles and Charles’ cash flow- Harry was astonished that he had to pay for his own family’s security…) and because they were so marvellously marvellous the world would lap them up and they would hang out with global superstars.

The thing that irks me the most (I am a lefty crunchy type) is that all their talk was talk. They had and have no actual interest in change or social justice. These are things they spout to promote themselves and make themselves look better. There are many people doing genuine good in the world- they are not in that category.

To that extent Kate Middleton, although I wouldn’t want any daughter of mine to emulate her is very much ‘what you see is what you get’- fairly bland, put together, South West London yummy mummy who happens to in line to be the Queen. Non controversial, doesn’t seem to have strong opinions about things, effortlessly sporty, and entirely publicly dull- and not pretending to be anything she isn’t. Weirdly, given my general political inclinations, I much rather have her dull but honest persona than all the overblown H&M stuff (no one has ever been in love like them, their children are not wild brats but are profound little beings, they are not just living but thriving- ugh).

He obviously didn't. But you seem to wish the contrary. Why is that? Because you need to believe that he's unhappy. He very likely said he wanted to continue to represent the Queen because of his love for his grandmother. As she's no longer here, what could possibly be the attraction? Don't delude yourself. And get over it, he moved with his family to the US some time ago. There are absolutely no credible signs that he will ever return. And who could blame him?

Did you not read the grandiose statement they issued in January 2020 ?
Of course he wanted to stay but they wanted to be selective about which events they would attend . They wanted to make money using their royal connections AND they wanted to retain all the perks - 24/7 armed security, access to Royal jewels , staff , limos , outriders. And most important ……titles .
oh they wanted to stay but HM said no and the rest is history .

RoundandRounnnd · 17/11/2024 21:30

@Mylovelygreendress Of course, I can see how a person would be drawn to a toxic environment surrounded by dysfunctional individuals whom contributed to their poor mental health. Hmmm… it makes absolute sense. He must be rocking backwards and forwards every evening chanting ‘I must return… I must return’.
What some people need to believe in order to feel better 🙄

RoundandRounnnd · 17/11/2024 21:31

P.S. They (and their children) have the titles. It burns, doesn’t it?

But surely "titles" are everything they are railing against ; elitism, colonists, wealth and privilege? Oh quelle surprise ...

I think Harry would be happy to return to a Royal role. And no it doesn’t “ burn” that they have titles , it just shows appalling hypocrisy.

No, he’s just sitting in his Californian mansion using ‘Emotional Freedom Techniques’ …tapping away at himself.

Doesn’t look much better does it?

Whatever you and the half dozen dedicated H&M watchers choose to believe. No one’s trying to dissuade you. It would be like trying to remove a comfort blanket from a child. Who could be so cruel?

Itoldyousoo · 17/11/2024 23:59

@x2boys and @ssd you really have little understanding of much of this. It maybe be a passion for you but it isn't for most of us. It's light entertainment at best.

Baital · 18/11/2024 06:37

The titles are mildly ridiculous (and hypocritical in the case of H&M, given their claims of racism, Empire 2.0 etc). Rather like those still calling themselves 'Prince' or 'Princess' of the monarchies that were abolished in 1918. A title is meaningless outside its context.

Agree. They are hypocrites and becoming increasingly ridiculous. And irrelevant.

OneTealSloth · 18/11/2024 07:38

I’ll believe H&M are truly irrelevant when the money making ecosystem for high volume commentary on YouTube and click bait tabloids grinds to a halt.

Call it loathing, call it rubber-necking, as long as talking about them makes people money, they will never be irrelevant.

MangshorJhol · 18/11/2024 09:55

I think @OneTealSloth that’s true. But while George, Charlotte and Louis are still too young, they will provide tabloid fodder. Although Lady Louise is in the news (for doing basically nothing but having a normal Uni life) but at some point the press will move on to the next generation. In the meanwhile if H&M truly want to secure a legacy that is meaningful while they have attention on them, now is the time.

Mylovelygreendress · 18/11/2024 10:38

i agree that they need to do something other than vacuous statements.
Apparently Harry is in Canada at some Invictus event . Now that’s a worthwhile cause .

But they're such horrible people! How can you want to celebrate nasty bullying people getting titles? Weird.

How can a couple who are so pro-the-Democratic Party and who've chosen to live in one of the world's first republics want to cling on the these titles with their fingernails?

I know! It's because they're both dim, ignorant of history, grabby, grasping, superficial and.... increasingly desperate.

I should think Meghan knows she's drinking in the Last Chance Saloon (or should that be 'salon'?) and those titles will have to be prised from her grasping claws before she will give them up. Let's face it, who would she be without her meaningless title?😂

I think Harry’s legacy is stamped with the Invictus Games. Like his Father with the Princes Trust and his Grandfather, the DofE awards. He has Sentebale too.

Meghan is floundering I think. If she can buckle down in 2025 and ARO/her cooking show are a success then she’ll have something to build on.

Archewell foundation seems to be chugging along but it’s nothing legacy defining.

True

But they won’t be able to pass on any future titles.

Lilibets children won’t be princes and princesses. Archie will be entitled to the Dukedom but being brought up a Californian, I’m sure he will be much more sensible than his parents and realise how ridiculous it would be to carry a title of a country you have little connection to.

Archie has spent little time here, doesn’t visit family here. I doubt he will want to have anything to do with the title.

Charlotte’s children won’t be titled either, will they?

Being brought up Californian has nothing to do with being claimant to a title lol

I thought grandchildren of a monarch can be prince and princess. Therefore Charlottes children will have those titles if William is still king by then?

Uh huh…that’s why I said Archie is entitled to the dukedom.

I said he’s unlikely to use it in the way his parents do, as it would be extremely odd for a person to do so with very little connection to the UK.

And yes, being raised Californian would have an impact on whether he chose to use a British Aristocratic title.

Lilibet's children will not even have automatic British citizenship.

They haven't yet changed the LPs. So it's only the DGC in the male line at present (like the DC of the Princess Royal).

They need to tidy this up before any of the little Wales are of an age to couple up . Either all DGC, irrespective of which sex parent is DC of the monarch, or restrict it to those in the direct line.

Under current LPs, we could end up with (an entirely hypothetical) situation such as: King George and his consort Prince Albert have a long and happy marriage and reign, but no DC. Princess Charlotte marries a commoner, so her DC have no titles even though Miss Mary and Master Alex are 2nd and 3rd in line. Prince Louis's DC however, despite being 5th and 6th in line are Princess Matilda and Prince David.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 18/11/2024 12:38

I expect the children’s titles will be removed once William is King, hopefully he has the foresight that is really not sensible for people to have British titles in a foreign country who have no connection to the UK and who could exploit those titles for commercial gain and bring them into disrepute, particularly if their parents have an axe to grind.

Oh interesting. Yes they definitely need to tidy that up. Would be strange for Louis children to be titled and Charlottes not, despite them being higher up the pecking order.

Spirallingdownwards · 18/11/2024 12:45

Cool another let's slag Meghan off for no reason and speculate that Harry isn't happy. Why is this still taking up space in your head? Leave them alone.
