Meghan at glitzy launch party

Meghan in LA this week at some fancy launch party. Think these are her friends who own a high end salon.

The wavy hair has made a return, I’m guessing this is the new look she’s going for, for the rebrand. Jury is out out for that particular style- mid parting, flat waves. Thinks she suits a side part, with full waves. But hey!

Personally I like the paired down eye make up look. I always thought the heavy lashes and dark shadows were a bit much for royal duties (I feel Kates is far too heavy on the smokey eye too!)

But it sure does make her look different. I do think ita just make up and not surgery…but other posters are better at spotting these things.

Harry not there. They are her friends, so no real reason but when it’s a social event, doesn’t look great that they aren’t together….again

MOST of the comments are about her dreadfulness behaviours. I don't join in with the stuff about her looks but must say her clothes leave a lot to be desired

Aaaaand there we have it. You couldn't help it could you

Princessfluffy · 02/12/2024 14:02

I don't really understand why Americans are so impressed with her Duchess title.

For all that the USA is a republic they certainly seem to confer a lot of extra respect, status and opportunities, not to mention awards, on a Duchess/Princess from the UK!

WinnieTheW0rm · 02/12/2024 14:23

downwindofyou · 02/12/2024 13:33

Oh so you've never read the scathing comments about her hair, her make up, her body shape, her leg shape, her clothes, how she walks, holds hands...
Okay. Gotcha

If you have been interested in the RF over the decades, you'll know that comments on her appearance pale in to insignificance compared to what was dished out the the Duchess of York (the commoner spouse of the "spare" of the previous generation) and idc to the two York (blood) princesses until only a few years ago.

The RF never "clapped back" on those either.

MM went from enormously popular to something close to a figure of fun. That enormous popularity isn't really compatible with intractable dislike based on race.

Hallmark movie effect?

Which is of course an angle she could capitalise on, but it doesn't sit well with positioning herself as feminist and social justice campaigner.

Mylovelygreendress · 02/12/2024 14:34

Someone who grabbed a title , courtesy of her husband, and continues to cling on to it . Call me ma’am .
Very feminist .

This entire post is comedic.

Of course you’d think Harry is her puppet lol

Frankly I think the only people who think she has a dreadful reputation are stone cold racists.

Even the Black Mumsnetters?

FloofPaws · 02/12/2024 15:05

lol @downwindofyou - you bit!

BigWillyLittleTodger · 02/12/2024 15:06

FloofPaws · 02/12/2024 12:59

It's just lazy to suggest people who say anything against MM are racist, said by people who have no defence for her dreadfulness, so they throw in a race card 🙄🥱😴 ... boring

So just to confirm, are you saying every poster on here who doesn’t like Meghan is a racist? A yes no answer will do.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 02/12/2024 15:07

That should have been addressed to @OneTealSloth

FloofPaws · 02/12/2024 15:10

@BigWillyLittleTodger - no, I was being called racist by @OneTealSloth because I dared to call Megs out on her behaviour ... apparently it's because I'm racist ... 👀

FloofPaws · 02/12/2024 15:11

@BigWillyLittleTodger - x posted! 😻

BigWillyLittleTodger · 02/12/2024 15:13

OneTealSloth · 02/12/2024 12:36

It shuts nothing down as racists will never admit what they are.

To clarify as I quoted the wrong poster, @OneTealSloth are all the posters on here who don’t like Meghan racists?

So that includes Michelle Obama?

Have a watch of her judgment of H&M behaviour following the Oprah Winfrey interview.....

RedRosesPinkLilies · 02/12/2024 15:30

We do have opinions on Harry too, but I’m presuming we can’t be deemed to be racist against him? Unless the protection surrounds the whole family?
Can we say what we think about Harry’s behaviour? Or where is our skewed view coming from with him?

The people dishing out the awards and opportunities aren't "ordinary Americans", Princessfluffy; they're a weird and somewhat toxic circle of people backslapping each other and trading favours in pursuit of attention/money

You may have noticed that the major opportunities have dried up, and that will almost certainly be because H&M's well of credibility, public popularity and perceived talent has run dry

Not sure there was any actual credibility or talent there in the first place - it was all smoke and mirrors, delusion, entitlement and grandiosity.

Very likely not, but originally I kind of hoped they might pull something out of the bag and surprise us all, only to be disappointed

wonderingconcerned · 02/12/2024 17:04

@Puzzledandpissedoff - I was the same - had great hopes for them both - cheering them on etc ... but for me it was the tone deaf, self-serving pleading to Tom Bradby during the African tour that initially jarred with me (those fake searching eyes of a hammy actor) .... and then they both continued on to reveal layers of their very unpleasant characters by their words and actions over the coming years.

FloofPaws · 02/12/2024 17:08

@downwindofyou - bit as a verb, not noun

Puzzledandpissedoff · 02/12/2024 17:10

Funnily enough it was the "Africa tour" interviews which did it for me too, @wonderingconcerned, and this against such a background and after what had been a successful tour

All of which is why I keep coming back to judgement - which they patently lack

Princessfluffy · 02/12/2024 18:03

Floofpaws is this all a game to you?
You say "gotcha" "you bit" "Aaaaand there we have it. You couldn't help it could you"

And also the anti monarchy fans of Meghan on here. They knock the RF but revel in the fact that Meghan has a title . It doesn't make sense .

myrtleWilson · 02/12/2024 18:30

@Princessfluffy - @FloofPaws didn't say all of those comments?
