Meghan at glitzy launch party

Meghan in LA this week at some fancy launch party. Think these are her friends who own a high end salon.

The wavy hair has made a return, I’m guessing this is the new look she’s going for, for the rebrand. Jury is out out for that particular style- mid parting, flat waves. Thinks she suits a side part, with full waves. But hey!

Personally I like the paired down eye make up look. I always thought the heavy lashes and dark shadows were a bit much for royal duties (I feel Kates is far too heavy on the smokey eye too!)

But it sure does make her look different. I do think ita just make up and not surgery…but other posters are better at spotting these things.

Harry not there. They are her friends, so no real reason but when it’s a social event, doesn’t look great that they aren’t together….again

Meghan could be the brightest white person ever and she would still get the same criticism from me.

Princessfluffy · 02/12/2024 18:33

My apologies floofpaws I meant to say downwindofyou

Race is a card

‘Race is a card’ is a phrase always used by people who don’t want to consider it.

Likewise it is a card used by people to defend someone with objectionable behaviour. Oh you can't say that .... because they are black or gay or trans or old or female or a mother or wtf else it is. They are blankets thrown over bad behaviour.

Floofpaws is this all a game to you?
You say "gotcha" "you bit" "Aaaaand there we have it. You couldn't help it could you"

You have tagged the wrong poster it not @FloofPaws who said those things it’s @downwindofyou who did.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 02/12/2024 20:17

Cross post @Princessfluffy

I’m still waiting to see if @OneTealSloth is saying all of us on here who don’t like Meghan are racists as they heavily implied earlier.

Agreed it’s always trotted out on here when Meghan’s actions or behaviour are particularly indefensible, normally after the old, but trusty favourite but but Andrew!

lol the Judge acknowledged she made a mistake. Even said the texts helped her arguments, proof that she really didn’t want anyone to know about that letter etc

career ending failure of whatever 🥴

This is pretty much the equivalent of putting your fingers in your ears and saying you can’t hear something.

The judge said of her conduct: "This was, at best, an unfortunate lapse of memory on her part". That is judicial speak for "she lied to the court", as every court lawyer knows well - the “at best” in that sentence is the kicker.

And people with integrity and a working moral compass, yes, this is a serious issue. Meghan was outed as someone who would lie on oath to make sure she won her court case. That’s behaviour plenty of people rightly hold to be shocking behaviour. It’s criminal conduct - even if she faced no sanction for it.

No worries! I did say 'you bit' though, bit naughty but I did criticise meghans clothing 🫢

Princessfluffy · 03/12/2024 04:48

The constant stream of beige clothing with lack of basic ironing and poor fit? I don't get that at all when her hair and make up is usually lovely.

I think neutral colours suit her as she has warm skintones. However, as I said upthread, she appears to have stopped using a stylist, which is a mistake.

Just throwing in my two cents on ARO for that they're worth:

  1. She's going to have to change the name as she won't be able to trademark American Riviera. Something that alludes to her royal status would be better
  2. It's a bad time to be launching a luxury lifestyle brand. Goop has just let go of 40 employees and Gwyneth has apparently been given strict marching orders by her Board: stop putting out gimmicky stuff like the vaginal candle, because they don't sell. Get out there and start heavily selling verticals - which is exactly what she's doing. Meghan would therefore be better off targeting the middle/aspirational market. Bring prices right down. Think less about targeting wealthy Cali SAHMs and focus more on Mid West soccer moms.

It was the first time she had met them and seemed to think it was appropriate to challenge their jokes/ comments / opinions ? These were people Harry had been friends with for years . People who had supported him , been loyal to him . Why didn’t she excuse herself and speak to Harry on his own if she was so uncomfortable?
**
If what Tom Bower wrote about the weekend Meghan met Harry’s friends is true I can see why Meghan spoke up.

"Their jokes involving sexism, feminism and transgender people ricocheted around the living-rooms and dining-rooms.

😳

Well done Meghan, I think.

Serenster · 04/12/2024 02:12

Posh rich boys act like boorish twats. I wonder why Meghan thought this particular posh rich boy was a compatible match for her, though?

BettyBlueSky · 04/12/2024 08:06

We could wonder why any of those men or women who married a royal did so.

Serenster · 04/12/2024 08:17

I struggle to see a royal relationship with such different backgrounds, approaches and values as that between Meghan and Harry, though. Except perhaps Canadian Autumn Kelly and Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips (now divorced).
