Meghan at glitzy launch party

Meghan in LA this week at some fancy launch party. Think these are her friends who own a high end salon.

The wavy hair has made a return, I’m guessing this is the new look she’s going for, for the rebrand. Jury is out out for that particular style- mid parting, flat waves. Thinks she suits a side part, with full waves. But hey!

Personally I like the paired down eye make up look. I always thought the heavy lashes and dark shadows were a bit much for royal duties (I feel Kates is far too heavy on the smokey eye too!)

But it sure does make her look different. I do think ita just make up and not surgery…but other posters are better at spotting these things.

Harry not there. They are her friends, so no real reason but when it’s a social event, doesn’t look great that they aren’t together….again

Thinking about the images sold by his ‘mates’ over the years to the press.

On the other hand, just think about the images and stories that haven’t been sold. Harry, like William, had a very loyal circle. Stories that came out about him (underage drinking in pubs, partying in Vegas, decking photographers outside nightclubs) tended to come when he did things outside that circle. Or when he revealed them himself, life how he lost his virginity. Harry did the “kiss and tell” on that one.

Ah you're ok thanks, I've got some paint drying that day, I'd rather watch that instead.

I’d definitely consider it a possible factor in some people in aristocratic circles
I'd consider it a possible factor in any circles.
No need to single out Harry's friends, some of whom are aristocratic, as somehow extra-likely to be motivated by racism.

The reports - such as have emerged - are pretty vaguely sourced , and are related to bossy behaviour that was out of place and not typical of their gatherings. It's a friendship-circle level version of "hitting the ground running" and it went badly, in terms of future relationships with those friends as it led to a breach (apparently mutual). Harry may well have been looking to move on anyway.

Edited to add: and I agree with PP that the friendship circles have been almost entirely leakproof. High degree of loyalty. More came out in Harry's own words in the book than has ever come from friends. There's barely been any comment on what Meghan was like, other than one piece I remember from an unnamed source (believed to be connected to Harry's friends)

When is the cooking show coming out?
At least that one actually has Megan in it (presumably)

By the time it comes out, people will have been so jaded from hearing about it, they will probably think it's a re run of an old programme. 😁

jouxlake · 02/12/2024 09:52

I think there may be some H&M PR people on these boards 😁 a bit like trust pilot reviewers being paid to drown out bad reviews.

CathyorClaire · 02/12/2024 09:59

Imagine if people only lived their lives in accordance with what 'public perception' deemed appropriate.

I have no idea why you've widened the discussion to 'people' in general.

My point relates to a publicly funded family of billionaires who are happy to bleed the nation while canting about 'modernisation' yet refuse to give up a practice many find abhorrent which would show they meant it.

So the sons and daughters of the British establishment didn’t like a biracial, American woman with opinions, and that somewhat effusive way Americans often have when wanting to make people feel welcome or comfortable.

Meghan swanned?

Oh, the horror!

Edited

It would be more sensible for her to have established that perhaps Harry and his friends weren't her type of people, instead she's married him for the title and way to make money/attempt to raise her profile (yes everyone knows who she is now BUT she's got a dreadful reputation that will never leave her). She's made him her puppet, albeit he's stupidly accepted this role, she's removed him away from his family, friends and home, and trapped him in her world simply for what he can give her ... and she's stuffed it up!

This entire post is comedic.

Of course you’d think Harry is her puppet lol

Frankly I think the only people who think she has a dreadful reputation are stone cold racists.

Why would anyone want to watch a documentary on Polo? Can’t think of anything more irrelevant & boring.

Agreed. It’s so obvious, it’s embarrassing.

She was revealed as intentionally misleading the High Court while maintaining she was telling the truth for goodness’ sake! That’s a career-ending failure of integrity for many less privileged than Meghan.

lol the Judge acknowledged she made a mistake. Even said the texts helped her arguments, proof that she really didn’t want anyone to know about that letter etc

career ending failure of whatever 🥴

speaking of privilege, Andrew the alleged nonce living a life of leisure paid by his brother, with security too must be nice. settlement to silence the victim paid off as well.

people like Harry and Meghan have to make a living. The RF only seem to support the likes of Andrew 🙏🏽

Don't risk bringing common sense into it Serenster!!

There can be no doubt that Meghan's experienced some racism and even one incident's wholly unacceptable, but for a minority every single thing which doesn't suit gets a "racism" tag added

I can never quite work out if they believe it's the one thing guaranteed to shut people down, or if they're so blinkered that they can focus on nothing else, but either way it seems deeply sad and hardly helps those they hope to defend

It shuts nothing down as racists will never admit what they are.

FloofPaws · 02/12/2024 12:59

It's just lazy to suggest people who say anything against MM are racist, said by people who have no defence for her dreadfulness, so they throw in a race card 🙄🥱😴 ... boring

Indeed! Isn't the judges perspective that if you lie in court then you are a liar and nothing you say can be trusted 🤔

It's because people are so desperate to throw hate at someone they dislike that they start criticising her for everything. If people want to look half reasonable in their criticisms then criticising someone for wearing too much cream or walking in front of her husband or crossing her legs or having thin legs or slicking back her hair or not slicking back her hair or holding hands or not being an hourglass shape or any of a million things pretty much every other woman in the royal family let alone the world of celebrity and beyond doesn't work.
It's so ridiculous that one has to start wondering why people would attack her for such normal and banal things and one of the obvious reason is that they don't like the colour of her skin. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Of people criticised only for sensible reasons you would get such clap back.

FloofPaws · 02/12/2024 13:10

Nonsense- most people just call her out for her dreadful behaviours - of which there are tonnes of because she's self serving with everything she does and splatters it all over the papers for all to see ... then gets criticism

Oh so you've never read the scathing comments about her hair, her make up, her body shape, her leg shape, her clothes, how she walks, holds hands...
Okay. Gotcha

Why are you so obsessed with Meghan and racism?
I find her annoying because she treats people appalling. That’s all there is to it.
