'High quality counsel' that's a bit of a stretch! she should have left when she originally quit, they clearly paid her to stay on at that time.

It's really lousy timing for this announcement, immediately after the employee bullying disclosures, and the spin they are trying to put on it is amusing. Likely the retention package expired at a very inconvenient time and she was not staying a minute longer as their employee.

I remember when they launched their Megxit Manifesto an PR guru (can't remember the name) gave an interview saying he felt they could earn hundreds of millions......but that was only if they had a very good understanding of their brand value and avoid doing 3 key things:

1. Don't do tell all interviews or write an autobiography (you need to keep the Royal Element of not baring your sole and keeping a degree of mystique)
2. Do not slag off the Royal Family. They have provided the platform you have and are key to your brand.
3. Do not slag off the UK (same reasons as above). Make sure you visit regularly and make clear your fondness for the county even if you have moved.

Really? Blimey. So I guess the question is then: Did they hire complete PR cretins, or are they complete cretins who didn't listen? What do we think ladies?

That may be the case but it's all indicative of the same pattern where they felt they could control the narrative.

Harry himself told Meghan that “ they” would never remove his security . He thought the RF were bluffing when he was warned about it .
If I remember correctly ,Queen Elizabeth wrote to someone ( RAVEC?) saying Harry and his family would need security but even she had no sway .

I quite agree but I was just pointing out that when you said they should have asked “what happens about security”, it had already been made clear to them. As you say, they subsequently wanted to control the narrative

MM had her crew over with her (agents, lawyers, Sunshine Sachs etc) from the day she met PH.

I agree that these companies would have seen this as an opportuniy like the gold rush - once in a life time etc. I am sure they were dripping in MM ear and upping the $$$$$$ stakes throughout - having all sorts of background conversations and teeing up all sorts of deals - even OW was sniffing around and grooming them (she still is ready and waiting to pounce for the next interview - keeping her prospects warm).

To be fair they delivered the opportunities and they must be raging that they cant keep milking the talentless cash cow.

1. They had nothing to sell except dirt on the RF. So all that advice about not slagging the RF off was irrelevant.
2. Narcissistic rage absolutely required Markle to clap back the way she did.

I think the blueprint for this is Edward VIII and Mrs Simpson.
He had no idea how it would feel once he left, it's impossible for people inside the gilded cage to have any idea how they will feel outside it and stripped of the countless benefits and entitlements that go with this ancient institution of privilege.

Harry is extending his trip in Africa.

He hasn’t seen his kids in weeks. What is he doing?

His wife has just had really bad press the last few weeks, that’s left her scrambling to put together a terrible USweekly retort that’s been panned, they had yet another staff member leave and newspapers are implying that they are on the rocks ….and he does this?

Hmm that article points out the Spencers have a home in Cape Town and that Harry has a secret appointment on this bit of the trip. All just my speculation, no evidence, but could Harry be thinking of a post-split move there? He's not then proposing to take the kids to the terribly unsafe UK and he'd be nearer his other favoured African haunts. One more request for a bolt hole to Earl Spencer, just like his mum.

It does definitely feel like there’s been a sea change . Either Harry has had enough of being dragged around ( quite literally sometimes) in Meghan’s
wake and has said enough is enough, or it’s a calculated PR exercise. They are recognising that things aren’t going well when they turn up to things together, and are trying to Rehabilitate Harry.

The alternative explanation is that Meghan is beaten down by bad press and is laying low and taking stock. Perhaps relishing some time away from the Man Child.

OR… they are both totally weary of each other and looking for ways to separate their interests , maybe with a view to splitting up. Something feels different.

I wondered if Meghan was going to meet him in S. Africa, hence extending the trip, but she has now emerged wearing that horrendous red dress, so a quick meet up in S. Arfrica is unlikely.

Hmmm I don’t think so. As it would always draw comparisons to the first time she wore it with the wider skirt attachment, which has been removed, so the first images would always come out. I don’t think she’s trying to show how slim she is,I doubt that crosses her mind as it’s plainly visible. Slim people don’t usually think like that.

its a very odd choice to wear to a children’s gala. I mean who turns up in a bright red low cut satin full length gown to a kids event. She’s kept her hair and make up looking natural to try to tone it down. But she’s done it for attention. She wanted to hit the worlds media.

of course now reports are coming out that harry wanted time apart. Basically the celeb version of I dumped her she didn’t dump me.

She did the red carpet twice! Just to make sure she got those photos out and to make sure she got one on her own. When she walks out with Kelly, she doesn’t separate hands, so she doesn’t get her individual picture so she walks again!!!!

This is hardly the Emmys or the Met. Looks like she was in a table Kelly bought (her kids charity).
