Netflix deal, looking like it may be over for H&M

The rumours have been doing the rounds for a while, but Puck News now reporting it, which means it is very likely that their contract with Netflix will not be renewed.

"The streamer is not expected to renew its five-year, $100 million deal signed in 2020 with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Meghan’s passion project, the animated kids show Pearl, has already been canceled, and the unscripted cooking and polo offerings didn’t connect the way the royal couple’s Harry & Meghan did. "

That's exactly right. The conversation was heard by Harry before they were married.

She certainly likes to twist things but some people are dense enough to still believe the blatant lies. There was no Archie but she insists on saying talk was directly about him (by her deliberately using his name when talking about this yet unconceived child). She says conversations when it was one person making a comment (context of which has never been clarified). And many other things, not least that’s she fluent in bloody Spanish.

'Lasts I heard of ARO - they couldn't get a CEO and Meghan was moaning via friend's press briefings press that KC Highgrove shop was sabotaging her efforts by competing with her - hopefully for them that situation has moved on.'

If there is any truth at all in that, it's hilarious. The Duchy Originals brand started in the 1990s, and there' s been a shop at Highgrove for about the same length of time. Meghan appears to be hoping to jump on Charles' coat tails. Silly woman.

Twistybranch · 21/08/2024 14:29

I know it’s not Netflix but Disney just cancelled the Acolyte after spending £180 million on season 1.

If it’s not a money maker, it’s gone. Doesn’t matter about the prestige of the product .

Netflix will be the same. Just because H&M are ‘big names’ doesn’t mean anything. If Netflix can’t make money on them, they’re gone.

Exactly this and no more evident than the awful video of Meghan completely ignoring a woman talking about her HIV experience and losing her baby because of it

Go to about 3:50

Wow, that is quite shockingly rude - was she not told what sort of conversations she'd be having before she sat on the bloody floor?! Even so, she could've just got back up when someone started talking about such a serious topic. And why did she keep ignoring that poor woman to coo at the kid? Who wasn't even interacting with her at all, none of them were. She seems to lack any form of self-awareness - presumably in her head she would be on the floor with adoring children clambering all over her and their mothers gazing at her in awe? Instead, she's sitting on the floor like a weirdo surrounded by a load of awkward mums and bored children who ignore her, while some poor woman is trying to tell a deeply moving and personal story to the back of her head! I am very glad she left the RF, she's utterly unsuited to that sort of role.

SmileyHappyPeopleInTheSun · 21/08/2024 14:33

In Tom Bower's book (a book that they never challenged any of the content of), he says that friends and contacts in the US urged Meghan to leave and return to the US and told her that they could make tons of money if they did, due to their huge popularity and royal connections. It seems she lapped it up and it was a major reason why they left.

I don't think many USA citizens "get the RF" - it's bloody odd and very cultural specific thing TBF.

I think if they'd handle the move to USA better in last 4 years - which may have taken being different personalities.

It could have worked certainly seen a few PR people suggest this but trashing the RF while initially lucrative they all said was a bad move as mean you can't use the reflective glamour as everyone can see estrangement and over time you just look irrelevant - and there's nothing really to point to as huge success - no big win so nothing big enough to push off to own success. They got a foot in the door - which is huge as so many can't get that - but did little with it that was not them not RF trashing.

It’s one of the rudest things I’ve seen, how she can keep turning away from that woman to coo at the kids is utterly unbelievable and made me really uncomfortable, and giving them Archie’s second hand clothes right after, Christ on a bike,

The claim that Highgrove was sabotaging ARO came earlier in the year after Highgrove announced a restock of honey. Clearly the bees have it in for her, too.

Edited to say - it followed on from.another story ( Page Six or Newsweek - one of the pro- Sussex publications) published during the love-bomb campaign where sources said M would live to get an endorsement for ARO from the King.

This is her MO though. I was looking again through the Tig and everything on there is about her association with other people whether it is cooking, fashion or trips. Truth be told she made good progress this way but needed to find a bigger catch. Unfortunately I think Harry is a dead weight and it remains to be seen whether his title will outweigh his negativity in this respect.

I agree with you though that Harry, at least, is surely having huge 'buyers' remorse' at the situation they find themselves in. There was a long article on this subject in the Sunday Times, which pretty much confirmed that he's gutted to find himself isolated on the west coast of America, estranged from his family and many of his friends, unpopular both at home and abroad. He wanted to have the best of both worlds, and he's ended up with nothing, due to his own impetuousness and stupidity in thinking he could air all the family dirty laundry and then be forgiven with a pat on the back.

Yes it’s quite extraordinary how he thought his family would just welcome him with open arms after everything he’s done. How can a grown man be so thick? (Rhetorical question lol).

I haven’t read Tom Bower’s book but the fact Meghan lapped up the encouragement to go make their (fame) and fortune in America shows she was never really invested in her husband’s life as a royal in the U.K. as she would have said thanks but no thanks my life is here now with Harry.

I was disgusted with her behaviour, it's literally basic manners, if someone is speaking to you, especially telling such a personal story , then you bloody well look at them.
Im surprised that this video hasn't been shared more openly tbh.

Me too, I’m surprised it’s not went viral. Why she didn’t get up and sit next to the woman, hold her hand, show any empathy I don’t know. It is basic human nature, she acts like she wants the woman to just shut it so she can get photo ops and make it all about her. I’ve never seen the like.

Nah, that was how they chose to report it. It was not a documentary about trashing the UK’s culture. Everyone had an opinion afterwards and twisted it to their own biases and agenda.

I did not think Meghan equipped herself well on Oprah because I could see how angry she still was, how she focused on Catherine and then went for it by lobbing in the grenade regarding skin colour but no name was revealed. I always suspected it was Catherine because she (Meghan) was very focused on their public perceptions and how they were portrayed in the media in the documentary. Catherine’s star was rising and she knew it.

It's a real insight into Meghan though, don't you think? That she knows that what is important is not what is said, but those precious photos that will be plastered on the front of every paper the next day. No one seeing a photo of her cooing over babies will know that at the time she was being told such a story of heartbreak - but she's ruthless enough to ensure that those photos are exactly as she wants them to be - her sitting on the floor with the babies. Aww - isn't that cute? She's a narcissist and it's very clearly illustrated by her behaviour that day. It's all about her, the photo op, her image, and fuck everyone else.

But the damage was done thanks to Harry and Meghan’s interviews. They were purposely opaque, and the frothing was whipped up down to Harry and Meghan’s lies and lack of clarity.

Meghan is so jealous of Catherine I honestly think she' d do and say anything to bring Catherine down. It's very unedifying.

It’s almost pschopathic . I cannot imagine anyone behaving like that. She even had that look on her face the one where you want someone to shut the fuck up. Like you’re tolerating them telling you a boring story at a party.

She made it very clear she just wanted photos of her on the floor surrounded by mums playing with the babies and that woman was of no interest to her at all. I honestly can’t even begin to fathom how anyone could behave like that. Being told such a story and to keep looking away and smiling at the babies like that.

Wouldn't be a surprise as Netflix has its own issues.

Netflix keep cancelling shows we like which seem to have high audience figures which put you off watching series when they first show up.

TBH if they had a few shows lined up for end of contract and they parted company amicably probably best for both parties perhaps they are in the wings or not getting huge PR in case they flop.

Though cooking shows are ten a penny and frankly Polo is a very elitist sport with animal rights groups having concerns about it so might want to steer clear of whole problem.

Lasts I heard of ARO - they couldn't get a CEO and Meghan was moaning via friend's press briefings press that KC Highgrove shop was sabotaging her efforts by competing with her - hopefully for them that situation has moved on.

For ‘sabotage’ I read ‘won’t stock it’…given that KC is one of the original environmentalists who was mercilessly mocked in the press during the 70’s,80’ and 90’s and has been a proponent of organic farming and produce, I wonder why he wouldn’t agree to sell unnecessarily imported jam from the west coast of the USA…?😂

They are just deluded.

Yes but Harry is so hugely envious of William. Pathologically so. They wanted what William and Kate have and feel hard done to.

I wonder if now they’ve lost so much if they look back and realise any of their privalge.

QueenOfHertz · 21/08/2024 15:30

There’s a photo on Twitter that depicts Meghan, Archie and Lilibet. Lili is the exact replica of Harry as a young child and even has the same angry expression!

Please provide evidence of trashing the UK ‘culture’ as racist and define what you mean by ‘culture’. I do recall them calling out the media and I do recall Meghan and Harry talking about Archie in the context of conversations around skin colour etc.

Around the time of them leaving the UK and leading up to the Oprah interview they had their unofficial spokesman Omid Scobie pushing this narrative for them as hard as he could. The racist UK and its readers was a line he was going hard on. Meghan was still suing the Mail at this stage too.
