Netflix deal, looking like it may be over for H&M

The rumours have been doing the rounds for a while, but Puck News now reporting it, which means it is very likely that their contract with Netflix will not be renewed.

"The streamer is not expected to renew its five-year, $100 million deal signed in 2020 with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Meghan’s passion project, the animated kids show Pearl, has already been canceled, and the unscripted cooking and polo offerings didn’t connect the way the royal couple’s Harry & Meghan did. "

Likewise - I lived in the tropics nearish the equator for four years. The 6am - 6pm days, the hot/humid v the hotter/really humid seasons were very boring after a while. I missed Breakfast Tea, Black Pudding and woolly jumpers more than I would ever have realised.

The Tatler is carrying an article (unnamed sources) saying that MM "couldn't be more excited" to launch ARO when her Netflix series is released "early next year"

I know Netflix has put out info on new shows expected in the rest of this year. But have they said anything about any for next year? I was wondering if this article is a leak, or if it's manifesting, I think it reads like a puff piece

And I think it's a bit odd that they're not attempting to grab a share of the Thanksgiving or Christmas appetite for food and family and friends and gifts (but what do I know about launching a brand)

Twistybranch · 02/09/2024 17:56

From People:

The public outing came as the Mail on Sundayreported that Harry, who stepped back from royal duties with his wife Meghan Markle in 2020, is exploring ways to reintegrate into the royal fold. However, sources who previously worked with him could not confirm the story to PEOPLE.

so Harry isn’t denying he is trying to get back to the UK and in with the royals …….interesting

Inside story of Harry's attempt to return to royal fold

Much work is needed for Harry to mend bridges and reclaim friendships. But The Mail on Sunday has learned that a plan for a way forward has already been prepared.

WTF with that People article? I thought it was going to say he wrote a eulogy or something. No, ginger golden balls merely has to step on a plane (something he's all too fond of doing) and this is classed as an "emotional tribute" - to a man who was one of the men in grey whose work he chose to denigrate in Spare. And he's really pleased with himself for going, too, bless! They make him sound like a 4 year old going to a bouncy castle party and mixing with the big children, rather than a 40 year old man attending a solemn occasion for a family member.

Edit to add, plus the predictable shade thrown at William. Meghan, love, you aren't convincing anyone!

JADS · 02/09/2024 18:47

That People article is utterly ridiculous and a tad insensitive 'on good form' at someone's memorial as well as being enthralled to see everyone. He sounds ridiculous. Got to love a paid for puff piece!

lazybrownfox · 02/09/2024 19:28

Pleased with himself ? What is he? Three years old and just done a poo in the potty?

Baital · 02/09/2024 22:52

'he was very pleased he came over' 😂

Because the point of a memorial service is that one of the guests is pleased with themself!

Treesinmygarden · 02/09/2024 23:26

Yeah a memorial service for a late loved one is totally the appropriate place to be pleased with yourself...🙄

Video taken by Harry with his voiceover “Here is my pk friend.”

I was asking about Prince Philip, not Harry.

"Emotional tribute"? You'd think he did Mark Anthony's eulogy for Caesar, not got on a plane and sat in a church.

I'd be so annoyed if this load of crap was written about me, but given the source, it's probably paid for.

Don't they live in a 16 bedroom mansion? Why does he need a hotel room. Sounds like there's plenty of space to avoid each other in their house!

CarmelaBrunella · 03/09/2024 21:16

You'd think, @coolmum123 , but then, we don't know what's going on.

I thought they only had 9 bedrooms ? 16 bathrooms .

Even a 9 bedroom place is big enough to have your own space surely? And who needs 16 bathrooms when there's 4 of you in the place!

Why in you need 16 bathrooms for only 9 bedrooms. Unless by bathrooms they mean loos. But even then…. ??? Baffling

Toastbuttermarmaladetea · 03/09/2024 21:51

My guess: 9 bedrooms all en suite. One big family bathroom in addition. Gym/health suite with bathroom. 2 x office space with bathroom. Cinema room with adjacent bathroom. Downstairs bathroom for visitors/staff. Swimming pool with bathroom. Makes 16.

KnickerlessParsons · 03/09/2024 23:15

Americans say "I'm going to the bathroom" when they mean "I'm going to the toilet". They use bathroom even when the room is just a toilet, with no bath in it.
So it probably is 16 toilets.
One per bedroom
One in the garden
One by the pool
A couple inside downstairs
One for "the help"
One by the security guard's little hut

MrsGusset · 03/09/2024 23:35

If Harry & Meghan really do have16 bathrooms I wonder where they stand in The Great Mumsnet Lavatory Brush Debate?

If they're Team Toilet Brush then when they purchased their home did they also buy 16 brushes? Or, in line with their environmental views, did they just get the one & now have to run round the house with it as the need arises?

Food for thought...

Let me think if either of them have ever cleaned a toilet in their lives 🤔

You'd think Meghan would have shared some household chores with her father when he was bringing her up though.
He might have had a cleaner, I suppose.

If they do read SM this could be the start of a whole new line: monogrammed loo brushes for the royal flush - only the best when you're on the throne.

They have so many bathrooms, they have so many opportunities to stage different settings for loo brushes. The only problem is, they don’t seem to use their own house in PR pieces or filmed interviews. In fact they rarely seem to be at their own house. Presumably this means the loos don’t get used so they don’t need cleaning 😵‍💫😆

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 04/09/2024 09:14

I'm sure they have a "help" that cleans the bog. They probably very magnanimously presented her with her own loo brush when they heroically rescued her from poverty. She's undoubtably a talented female artisan who has taken years to hone her craft and meticulously checks every detail to M's unwavering ethical standards for which she is compensated with chunks of word salad and the opportunity to bask in the quasi royal presence. With her brush.
