Netflix deal, looking like it may be over for H&M

The rumours have been doing the rounds for a while, but Puck News now reporting it, which means it is very likely that their contract with Netflix will not be renewed.

"The streamer is not expected to renew its five-year, $100 million deal signed in 2020 with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Meghan’s passion project, the animated kids show Pearl, has already been canceled, and the unscripted cooking and polo offerings didn’t connect the way the royal couple’s Harry & Meghan did. "

I have to say though, they have proper shit the bed. They left and went all guns blazing, thinking they were the big I am, so important, and outfits like Spotify, and Netflix chucking money at them, Oprah wanting to do their interview, the hype was enormous and they beleived it, not for one moment could they see what most others could see, it was all about the selling royal gossip , the modern day Edward and Mrs Simpson wanting to cash in.

and now it’s all over and no one wants to touch them. They are trying to crawl back, but they shit the bed so hard there is no one is going to get in it with then, much less the royals.

Truly you have a way with words.

All spot on.

👍

That's hilarious.

That’s not what the Mail reported. They reported Harry didn’t wish to come back permanently but to spend some more time in the Uk and start doing working royal activities.

so half in half out. What they’ve always wanted

i tnink this is no more than they have failed so miserably in the us, they realise being royal is where the money is for them, so if Harry can get back in then they can monetise it. No more. No less.

half in half out has always been their desire as they know that’s where the money is for them. They need to capatilise on it.

i think they will now attempt harry is a working royal and Megan isn’t, she can then leverage it to make money and he tags along with her. The royals still won’t allow it, they’d be idiots to

Which is sort of what Charles said to Harry when he said he couldn't afford them and it was suggested Meghan carry on with her acting- but they were having none of it and wanted to be full time Royals

If they had just listened to those around them at the time, instead of constantly feeling offended, slighted at every piece of sound advice given, the whole sorry mess wouldn’t have happened.

I think Meghan possibly saw herself as being the Michelle Obama of the RF, in the same way MO, while not first lady anymore, is the jewel in the crown of the democrats.

You have a super selective memory, he was always making racist comments. Have you been living under a rock Hmm

Well, come on then, give us one example in full detail, with the complete context.

CathyorClaire · 01/09/2024 11:02

I think this is an escalation of the reports earlier this year when Harold was reported to have offered to step up for a bit of emergency ribbon-cutting following Pa and SIL's diagnoses followed by reports he was eyeing up UK property.

Money's tight and even a sizeable inheritance (QM left the bulk of her wealth to TLQ) is likely to be gobbled up rapidly by private security costs and the running expenses on the vanity gaff.

Henry's securing his position while he still has the chance IMO. He knows he's toast if he leaves it until bro gets the purse strings.

Chrsytalchondalier · 01/09/2024 07:27

Using the past tense would suggest I do 😆

You said that Prince Philip is known et cetera. That's the present tense. Were you under a rock when he died? He's gone. Was known for......

MM may well have thought that.

But since Michelle Obama is a Princeton and Harvard educated lawyer and an elegant and classy woman, and MM is a former gameshow hostess and crappy actress, MM would have been, as ever, deluded.

Twistybranch · 01/09/2024 11:08

I agree, I think they can see the days of Netflix chucking 100 million around are over and their level of spending is unsustainable.

Even if they are worth 40 million right now. They must be spending around 5 million a year. Which is fine if that’s what’s going to be coming in for the next 30 years but it won’t.

Spending at that rate, all the money will be gone in 8 years.

If they are spending around 3 million a year on security, Harry will want his IPP status back …

Toastbuttermarmaladetea · 01/09/2024 11:13

This is pure anti William propaganda:

Charles was portrayed as an emotionally stunted father who married Camilla despite his sons’ pleas not to let her fill the role of ‘wicked stepmother’, and who was jealous of his sons’ popularity. In an interview with CBS, Harry said he had viewed Camilla as a ‘villain’ who ‘left bodies in the street’ in her quest to boost her image.

It is a measure of their capacity for clemency that Harry’s friends, unlike William, are now able to overlook these deeply wounding comments. A source said: ‘It is because his original intention was not malicious that there’s a path to forgiveness for him.’

How nice of his "friends" to be so forgiving on behalf of those who were on the receiving end of Harry's bile, when neither they, their wife or their children were his targets. This is straight from the Montecito propaganda machine.

Gorgonemilezola · 01/09/2024 11:18

The 'friends' haven't been on the receiving end of the 'deeply wounding comments'. Easy enough to forgive someone's actions if they've had absolutely zero impact on you.

William appears to have his family's back - on MN he would be applauded.

User14March · 01/09/2024 11:19

I think outgoings of 5 million a year are a conservative estimate. Her wardrobe & jewellery hair make-up alone about 1-2 million - salaried make-up/hair etc. Think of how much the engagement dress alone cost.

KatherineParr · 01/09/2024 11:19

It definitely comes across as having been leaked from Harry and Meghan's side doesn't it? I mean all this says is that Harry still wants half in half out and he thinks some of his British aides could now do a better job of getting it than his previous American advisers. The curious thing is that Meghan isn't referenced at all.

These “friends” may not even exist. I haven’t read the article but if none have actually been named then it could just be more spin and bs coming from Montecito.

Toastbuttermarmaladetea · 01/09/2024 11:40

Oh he has friends. Like Briony Gordon. Tessa Dunlop. Any of the other media shills for the Sussexes. That type of friend.

I think she sees herself
As MO and anyone else who has made something of themselves either educationally, and/or with what they've spent years doing for the greater good. MM has done none of that, all she seems to do it hitch herself onto someone else's hard work and use it as a way to trampoline herself into something f ... she keeps trying and keeps failing because people know she's done sod all, zero credibility and zero positivity to the world

But why the DM? Why not one of the UK papers that are more pro-Sussex? IS this their new PR guy mending bridges with the DM?

No there is friends, the poster hasn’t read the article for some reason so was posting without knowing friends were listed, it’s the friends who told the dm, harry has declined to comment.

basically he’s been reaching out in a conciliatory manner to old friends via what’s app to see if they can help him get back in with the royals.

IAmATorturedPoet · 01/09/2024 11:51

Doesn’t Briony Gordon now write for the Daily Mail?

I think they're probably happy to leak to any tabloid, DM included.

Twistybranch · 01/09/2024 12:00

This is a comment from the DM, sums it up:

It is not uncommon for individuals who have failed to achieve self-sufficiency to return to their parents' basements, in this instance, the motivation seems to be financial instability rather than a desire to reconnect with family or demonstrate loyalty to one's country.

QueenOfHertz · 01/09/2024 12:03

I wonder if Harry thinks that, if asked nicely, Charles will take out several mill £££ on equity release on Sandringham and/or Balmoral to tide him over for the next few years.
