Netflix deal, looking like it may be over for H&M

The rumours have been doing the rounds for a while, but Puck News now reporting it, which means it is very likely that their contract with Netflix will not be renewed.

"The streamer is not expected to renew its five-year, $100 million deal signed in 2020 with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Meghan’s passion project, the animated kids show Pearl, has already been canceled, and the unscripted cooking and polo offerings didn’t connect the way the royal couple’s Harry & Meghan did. "

I remember Harry saying in an interview that her being an actress was more of a problem for the royals in the early days.

Harry was right, it seems everyone is judging her because she is an actress.

Really? You don’t think it’s her manner and what comes out of her mouth that people are judging, just the fact she was an actress (albeit little known)?

It was also said though that Queen Elizabeth had suggested that Meghan could continue with her career if she wished (which she clearly didn’t) so it can’t have been that much of a problem.

It’s very touching how concerned some people are for my mental well being 🙄😂😂

Cannot understand the obsession with her Hmm

She wrote letters to them saying to use her as they saw fit. Dangerous! It was suggested that she carry on with her acting. Clearly they were allowed to be working royals together. For a short time.

She always comes across well.

How many times are you going to re quote me? We’ve done all this 🙄

Come on now - after all these years this is what you take away from it all?

Quite. It was clearly no problem at all.

Yes and in recognition of her profession HMQ honoured her with her own patronage that the Queen herself held, Patron of the National Theatre, I mean what an honour that was, though I don’t think Meghan gave two hoots for it.

Probably because she's a bad actress

I don’t think she cared for how she was being treated fullstop.

No, I think the late Queen over estimated what kind of actress Meghan was. Not the sort to have an interest in the theatre.

How was she being treated? She had way more dispensations than anyone else. I don't think she ever planned on sticking around regardless.

In an interview she talked about this. On Oprah or the 6 part series. I forget which. Harry had spoken about there not being money for her and it was suggested by Charles that she carried on working. I think the letters were to show them that she wanted to be a ‘working royal’.

CarmelaBrunella · 23/08/2024 22:01

I think what Harry says and what actually happened are not necessarily the same, as has been proven.

Please can you list how Meghan was badly treated by the Queen and the Royal Family?

Well, isn't that uncannily similar to the Duke Of Windsor's approaches to the then royal family after his Bahamas position, as revealed in the interview of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor filmed in 1969?

DoW: “Yes, I offered my services if they were required."

My oh my.

Please provide evidence of trashing the UK ‘culture’ as racist and define what you mean by ‘culture’. I do recall them calling out the media and I do recall Meghan and Harry talking about Archie in the context of conversations around skin colour etc.

Your best bet is to read the transcript of the OW interview, then there can be no misunderstanding or misinterpretation on your part. The accusation is spelled out in terms only someone wilfully determined to defend the indefensible could miss.

So how come Sophie Winkleman is still working?

Twistybranch · 24/08/2024 08:05

Yet another super fan detailing another Royal thread. Why can’t they stay on topic or better yet; create your own ‘ I ❤️ the Sussexes’ thread.

It the same stuff over and over. Never reacting to current news or the title of the thread.
