Great post, Autumn Crow, and I can really relate to what you say. I also loved the wedding and was really excited for the RF - what a great new chapter. But I was uneasy about the marriage, not because of any thoughts of racism, but because I guessed that Meghan as an older woman and having had a career, wouldn't be content in the gilded cage of the RF. And if they'd left graciously and 'with regrets etc', thanking the UK for their wonderful wedding and the RF for being so welcoming, I'd have been completely sympathetic. It was the spite and lies, so publicly - nay, globally - displayed, that I was shocked and disgusted at, and this behaviour from H & M has continued, even during the serious illness of KC and Catherine. They really are a pair of horrors.
I agree that, while the UK is far from perfect, it's not the racism capital of the world by a long way, despite what Meghan's attack-dogs, the SS, would have us believe.
Sometimes SS and Meghan die-hards on MN will ask: Why do you care? There are lots of reasons I care about the UK's and the RF's reputations being trashed by demonstrable lies, but there's also a more visceral reason. The people who continue to love Meghan, and to rave about her clothes, style, beauty etc in the face of growing evidence that she's a complete cow, remind me of a group of schoolgirls gushing over a cool but mean girl who's a known bully. I just think "Can't you see through her?" They baffle me, those people. They are classic narcissistic enablers.
But I guess they've invested so much in her that they'll die on the Hill of Meghan rather than admit any doubts. I imagine them with their fingers in their ears, eyes tightly closed and saying 'Na na na na na - I can't hear you!'.
