Perhaps he thinks this is the way to get his security reconsidered? Personally I'd say the opposite.
If he still had UK security I'd expect them to do a risk assessment and say "NO".
Why should security personnel be put at risk by being required to travel to these dangerous destinations.

The royals have already exercised control over media reporting - see TLQ vetoing later showings of (an admittedly rather dull) fly on the wall documentary made in the 60's, Willy demanding the Panorama interview with Diana is never aired again. BP dictating what can and can't now be shown of the coronation.

No. They don't meddle in the media. They have no control, otherwise they'd get a lot more favourable coverage than they do.

The King owns the copyright. They don't want it shown, for their own reasons.
That is completely different from controlling the press.
Anyone with any wit can see that the RF do not exercise control, however much the very confused Harry may insist. He is wrong. On this and, sadly, much else.

@CathyorClaire I'm not abreast of who is and isn't talking to M&H at the moment but I think I've heard Oprah isn't - I somewhat suspect, her utterly pathetic excuse foe interviewing them, then almost immediately the lies and cracks stated showing, that she's utterly enraged by the pair of 🤡 because her integrity took a massive hit

I think this trip will divide people. I think they like to travel and be feted . But think about Columbia and its president . I do think they think are owed Royal tours but the longer it goes on the more I think they are becoming the Duke and Duchess of Windsor - ie increasingly irrelevant . But Columbia - OK paid for by someone else - but you won't go to Windsor. It is just my opinion but they seem to be coming across as a bit hubristic.

Well, their new Chief of Staff, Josh Kettler, has quit just before their "royal tour"!
