H & M announce a visit to Colombia

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announce they will visit Colombia

mol.im/a/13698271

Another country on the "Don't travel" list.

"But the UK and US governments have both issued security alerts over travelling to Colombia amid fears over crime, terrorism, civil unrest and kidnapping - and Harry's decision to visit comes amid his ongoing battle for his security when in Britain.
The UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office 'advises against all but essential travel to parts of Colombia'. And the US Department of State issued a travel advisory for Colombia stating: 'Reconsider travel due to crime and terrorism. Exercise increased caution due to civil unrest and kidnapping. Some areas have increased risk.'"

Perhaps he thinks this is the way to get his security reconsidered? Personally I'd say the opposite.
If he still had UK security I'd expect them to do a risk assessment and say "NO".
Why should security personnel be put at risk by being required to travel to these dangerous destinations.

Youre right, there will either be a memoir…or a threat of a memoir

Well apparently she has ‘barely scraped the surface’ which I think is a not so subtle warning message to the RF.

Didn’t she say she had never signed an NDA ??

Jane Pauley's video starts:

'The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, better known as Harry and Meghan, are definitely big huggers'

My eyes cannot roll any further.

She should have added " I see you have your claw on him" when she talked about them supporting each other 🙄

Gosh this is pretty awful isn't it? Those poor parents looking for someone to blame and they end up in the claws of these two users. Poor sods!

Do you not understand how organisations work, or is this a genuine question?

Not that one.

Run me through it in words of one syllable 🙂

The cheek!

Surely she must mean 'Sir' and 'Ma'am'?

She'll need to find a publisher first.

PRH apparently had their fingers burned with Waaagh 'Spare' . No date for the paperback as yet (originally touted for June) so I reckon the four book deal's dead in the water as far as they're concerned.

Both Harolds are now well proven Pinnochios. It's going to be a brave publisher who takes on any Sussex gig and hopes for a no questions asked profit.

I've never understood the snarky comments calling Meghan the claw. These are two married people, they touch, kiss and I'm sure do numerous x-rated activities in their bedroom so to be offended by them touching hands is quite rich. Incidentally, I always see Harry grabbing/ holding Meghan's hand first but he doesn't get dubbed "the claw", wonder why???

I'm not buying this from a couple who went to HR rather than medical professionals for help with health with a husband involved in MH initiatives & doctors who treat the RF discreetly. I think they need to careful what they say as they don't seem to b particularly qualified , either of them.

My opinion - others are available.

I quite agree with your opinion. They had access to whoever Harry had on speed dial, Palace doctors or the expert ante natal care of the Portland. But no, they knew better and now seem to be implying that they know better again. What qualifies them to say this? The fact that they are parents? That would make an awful lot of us qualified then. How demeaning for anyone who has ever admitted that they can’t cope and need help. We clearly have no need of experts in this world. We just need this pair of “big huggers” 🙄

Meghan wanted to go to a residential mental health place. That option was vetoed by the Queen.

I’m feeling suicidal, must contact HR for help, said no one, ever.

Strangely enough I have this impression too something to do with the RF telling her that's now how it's done over here and it being put down to a culture clash but I cannot remember exactly where this narrative came from...

Theunamedcat · 04/08/2024 23:45

NOT how it's done over here ffs

BasiliskStare · 04/08/2024 23:49

@BigWillyLittleTodger - I have to say I agree. Harry & his brother were involved with MH charities - The doctors who treat the RF are discreet - I am sceptical about her first call was to HR. Why ?

Well that can be disproved with a quick google. The Duchess of Kent after suffering severe depression after the stillbirth of her child was admitted to hospital for seven weeks of treatment and supervised rest. And it was Meghan who said she wasn’t allowed in the Oprah interview, another of her many lies.

How does that disprove anything? Most people do not even know who the Duchess of Kent is.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 05/08/2024 00:33

Showing your complete lack of knowledge of the British Royal Family right there. The Duke of Kent, her husband is still a working member of the RF and until 2021 was the President of the All England Lawn and Tennis club from 1969 until 2021 when Catherine took on the role. The Duchess of Kent was a working royal until 2001 when she relinquished her role to become a music teacher, she was a high profile royal during the 70’s and 80’s in particular and presented the trophies each year at Wimbledon.

As for it not proving anything, don’t make me laugh, if a senior member of the RF could receive mental health care as an in patient in the 70’s for seven weeks there would be no issue in our enlightened times of 2024 with royals who champion mental health and started the ‘Heads Together’ campaign receiving in patient mental health care.

Out of curiosity, when do H&M ever see their children? They never seem to be home.

AvrielFinch · 05/08/2024 01:00

@BigWillyLittleTodger I do not claim to know much about the Royal Family. Ask most people in Britain. They would all know who Meghan is, and few would know who the Duchess of Kent is. I am older and do not remember her presenting trophies. I am sure she did, but she did not enter my memory, just another minor Royal. There used to be a lot more of them about back then.

Well as you say yourself you don’t know much about the royal family, many many will know who she is, just because you have a lack of knowledge does not negate the fact that in her time she was a high profile royal who received in patient mental health care in the 70’s.
