Charles and Camilla are a real love story.

Well done whoever reported that post.

Charles and Camilla are a real love story.

She was awfully quick to marry APB when Charles was at sea.

I think she’s been his dearest friend, but I also think it’s a bit of a one sided love story.

@CarmelaBrunella "Well, he is, genuinely, very involved, very hands on and very well informed. However, certain people on here don't want to believe it because they don't like him, their choice."

I'm not denying it. I just don't understand what he can actually contribute practically. What expertise does he have? What hands on stuff does he do? I'm sure he's very well informed- I used to write briefing for quite senior (although less senior than the PoW) and they were very well informed by the time they'd read their papers!

Not exactly expertise, but the "soft power" of convening. Getting the right people round the table (in a way they weren't doing before) with a fresh impetus

I think some posters are confusing “unpopular opinions” with “wild conspiracy theories “ 😂

... with idly conceived utterly made up bollox

I think that's because APB was who she loved and wanted at the time. She wasn't Charles only mistress before his marriage.

The idea that it was a lifelong love is a later invention.

CathyorClaire · 25/07/2024 20:46

she was exploited by men like Al Fayed and Martin Bashir.

Al Fayed, yes. but my eternally unpopular opinion on That Interview is that she was gagging to tell her side of the story. Bashir offered a credible (BBC! Panorama!) platform to do it and while he did disgracefully doctor the evidence he never actually needed to.

They’ve left the toxic RF.

Yet the UK taxpayer is still underpinning vexatious court costs, ridiculous police cavalcades and bids for Harold's Invictus circus. Where does it end?

Why are you all obsessed with me today? 😂

somepeopleareunbelievable · 25/07/2024 21:46

People often say they are "real people" - but their public face isn't. They are playing fictionalised versions of themselves (just like "Made in Chelsea") and they get themselves into trouble when they allow the 'real person' to get through. I think this is what Prince Harry has never understood - being a real person is not compatible with being royal. For all we know Catherine could be horrid behind closed doors - but it doesn't matter as long as she plasters on a smile and looks and seems interested in people. William could be shagging half of Kensington, but it doesn't matter as long as he doesn't get found out and he smiles endearingly at his wife (and maybe squeezes her hand) when the cameras are on.

AliceOlive · 25/07/2024 21:52

I thought that first sentence was going to be about posters here. 😂

I agree. I believe she even wrote something saying she stood by everything she said. She is being silenced now by her son and brother, making out she didn't mean anything she said and it was all manipulation but she meant every word IMO. Its not different to what Meghan and Harry said, or even Fergie in her interview. Maybe the Royals need to take a look at themselves and why the women who marry in to their family (and some born in, like Margaret) are all so fucked up by it? But they wont.

Longdueachange · 25/07/2024 21:57

Ill get them all off my chest! 🤣

  1. That Harry is the love child of Capt James Hewitt.
  2. That the caff needs to be cut, and the Sussexes and Yorks are chaffy.
  3. Diana courted the press and that Charles should have just married Camilla in the first place.
  4. If no 3. did happen, then the current heirs and spares wouldn't be so good looking.
  5. That the Spencers should have been lined against the wall for the arranged marriage of the very young and vulnerable Diana, and as such they had no business playing victim vs big nasty Firm when Diana died.
  6. That I thought the Sussex going off to America for a few years r&r was a bloody brilliant idea, but its a shame they burnt their bridges on the way out.
  7. That Megan is black is what the British public liked about her (although I didn't realise she was black or mixed race until the press pointed it out). The fact that she is very American is what offended us!
  8. I actually loved Megan's wedding outfits.
salem4cuddles · 25/07/2024 21:59

@Longdueachange You've really went for it 🤣

somepeopleareunbelievable · 25/07/2024 22:05

Agree on the fact that most Brits thought Meghan's nationality was more important than her race. I had no idea she was mixed race until just before they got married, and then suddenly it seemed to be everywhere.

I actually really liked Diana, I had no reason not to, purely in a celebrity way. One thing that turned me right off was how she had a couple of affairs with married men. They were never going to say no to her (like the song Jolene). It turns me off in all women actually.

Edited

It's true that they would never have turned down Diana. What a feather in your cap, to tell other men you've slept with Diana!

Likewhatever · 25/07/2024 23:22

@Longdueachange no 7, so true! Much to the disappointment of certain scurrilous media outlets, nobody minded Meghan being biracial, on the contrary, they celebrated it. She won’t see it because it doesn’t fit her narrative, but it’s true.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 25/07/2024 23:25

TheWoodlanders · 24/07/2024 17:49

Totally agree. For most of my lifetime (I’m 62) she appeared to be a grumpy and haughty peripheral figure. Suddenly she has become a ‘national treasure’ constantly being reported on as a jolly hockey sticks no nonsense trouper. I think it can only be because the RF realised they were running out of stars and needed to bring an old one back into the limelight to fill the depleted stage of the royal family show so they tried to re brand Princess Anne.

The weirdest rewriting of history about Princess. Anne was the way she was portrayed in The Crown in the 1970s episodes. If you hadn’t been alive then you might have got the impression she was a groovy youngster. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Have met her several times; she’s actually lovely IRL-always really interested and interesting; always doesn’t her homework and really down to earth. She works the hardest out of everyone as well.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 25/07/2024 23:26

Does not doesn’t

Eggseggslegs · 25/07/2024 23:26

Bin the lot of them.off but leave Megan alone, the racism and subconscious racism is terrible.

Femme2804 · 26/07/2024 00:03

The kids are not cute at all. Kate very elegant but look older than her age.
