Taylor Swift 2: The coolest motherf*****

William has been called “The coolest motherf” by two of the very coolest guys. The Kelce brothers, Jason and Travis Kelce met William, George and Charlotte at the Taylor Swift concert a few days ago. Now they’ve been fangirling over William and full of praise for Charlotte and George in their podcast.

It’s starting to shape up as the “Summer of Wales.”

These two NFL players are really popular in the US right now. More recently they became household names even for people that know nothing about football, because Travis is dating Taylor Swift. Could you get any better exposure in the US?

And you have to wonder why. This is a woman who picks her battles carefully.

I mean even if you want to think she's the most heterosexual woman on the planet who just likes singing about hiding in the closet (given your user name have you even listened to Tortured Poets?) ... she's also incredibly wealthy. She has said multiple times in interviews over several years that she learned to fiercely protect her private life.

Everything that you see of her is curated to fit her public image. She doesn't get accidentally papped on boats or having dinners on the front lawn - celebrities call the paps in when they want to be seen.

And the relationship - whether real or purely PR - with Kelce has bought in the NFL over 300 million dollars over the last season and given Swift loads of free prime time advertising for the Eras tour movie and Tortured Poets (that nearly doubled the amount of streams in its first week compared to Midnights)

She supports the Wales? Maybe she is just happy to meet the future King of England?

Why? Lots of Americans love the British Royal Family.

The TTPD is my favourite TS album as it happens so I was glad she incorporated a few tracks into her European leg of the Era’s tour.

Off the top of my head I can think of at least two famous couples who have entered into transactional relationships.

Still not quite sure what your point is and why you think any of that matters.

They met years and years ago and have been friends for yonks (we were both young, when I first saaaaaw you)

W & C’s PR team couldn’t ask for better. Those who love to pigeonhole the Waleses as stuffy and traditional and the other lot as a “breath of fresh air” are looking a bit silly now.

Do you realise that she hasn't just "incorporated a few songs into the European leg" but created a well thought out play within a play telling the story of how fame has deeply damaged her (even though she chose it) that should make the viewer somewhat uncomfortable to participate in?

And my point again is that the whole relationship between Swift and Kelce is manufactured and the PoW is even managing to get in on some of that good PR which is why this post exists.

But why are people squealing that William and his kids had a photo opp with her? Is that what the royal family is now? Hanging round waiting for pats on the head from top celebs.

I think unfortunately too many people still do think of Taylor as just a pop star whose only ambition is to date the boy on the football team (which is why there is this strange obsession with her marrying Kelce and having his babies).

Their internalised misogyny leads them to underestimate the sheer amount of soft power she has right now (at their peril).

Actually it's the contrary, Taylor Swift being excited to have a photo op and to meet up with Prince William again, along with meeting Prince George and Princess Charlotte, so excited and impressed that she posted on her personal instagram, something she rarely does.. It is obviously a mutual admiration, along with the prestige of being photographed meeting with the future Kings of Great Britain.

I think It was also her showing her public support for the Wales after all they have been through.

I think it’s more that the Royals are showing that they are in touch with modern life, and that the children like what other children like. What’s wrong with that 🤷‍♀️

Celebrities have been keen to be photographed with the Royal family for decades, actually. I imagine it’s seen as a win-win.

I was listening to to Marina Hyde in the Rest is Entertainment podcast and she pointed out that there is a camera man/woman taking a photo of Taylor taking the selfie. She seemed to imply that PW was going along for the ride as TS is obviously a bigger star. I didn't buy that at all. TS is a PR mastermind, but that doesn't mean that KP weren't in on it too.

The Kelce brothers are clearly good at it too. It is nice to see PW described as something other than stuffy. He dances like most of the guys I went to University with in the 90s. Just glad we didn't have sm then.

Basically what happened is that PW and kids had the selfie with TS and TK.

The anti Wales crew then posted clips of the podcast of the Kelce brothers the week before, where JK was saying ‘fuck kings’.

Basically saying to PW that just because TK took a selfie with him, didn’t mean he liked him, and just generally mocking him (PW). Also some were mocking Charlotte and her appearance.

And then this week TK and JK clarified on the podcast that they met him, and did like him, and what a good impression Charlotte left on them (think they called her the cutest or most adorable or something)
