Taylor Swift 2: The coolest motherf*****

OliceAlive · 27/06/2024 12:36

William has been called “The coolest motherf” by two of the very coolest guys. The Kelce brothers, Jason and Travis Kelce met William, George and Charlotte at the Taylor Swift concert a few days ago. Now they’ve been fangirling over William and full of praise for Charlotte and George in their podcast.

It’s starting to shape up as the “Summer of Wales.”

These two NFL players are really popular in the US right now. More recently they became household names even for people that know nothing about football, because Travis is dating Taylor Swift. Could you get any better exposure in the US?

The sychophancy surrounding the royals is and always has been next level - I expect a lot of people get swept up in that. Not a great reach is it?

TheASSociates · 27/06/2024 14:56

I think the Kelce brothers have the option to not speak about anyone they meet if they have no desire to.

If they thought anyone they meet is a pompous arse they have the option not to give them air.

But they have chosen to speak about someone positively.

I doubt they have to be in anyone’s pocket.

OliceAlive · 27/06/2024 14:57

I’m very tickled that someone thinks having manners means lying. Manners teach you how to be polite without compromising your own integrity. If you are lying you are doing it wrong.

You would think @AliceOlive.

Do you mean the Kelce brothers? Sincerely doubt they get swept up in much. People get swept away with them!

No, definitely not my intent but some made it about him right off the bat.

Yes, it's a shame @TheASSociates did that. I was just here as a Taylor and Kelce fan. Oh well.

TheASSociates · 27/06/2024 15:00

The great reach is that some people are hero-worshipped for being liars. Sycophancy rules there.

And those with no reason or incentive to lie are being accused of it.

Isn't that funny.

TheASSociates · 27/06/2024 15:01

I was responding to an insult of baldy twat actually.

Which you thought was hilarious and posted 🤣🤣🤣🤣 in response to. So here as a fan of the brothers and TS but happy to agree to insults as long as it is the POW and not Harry? Oh well indeed.

Was there a need for that? No.

TheASSociates · 27/06/2024 15:01

Oh well.

upinaballoon · 27/06/2024 15:02

Does 'motherf' mean 'mother-fucker', and is it considered to be a compliment?

Are you pretending to misunderstand me so that it looks like I agree with you?

Yes and coming from guys like this and with “cool” in front of it, most definitely a compliment. One of the best. It’s part of why this made me smile - American culture meets RF.

Of course Willian would come across well when he's meeting people like this, All of them will be super pleasant when meeting.

That's not to say William isn't actually very nice and what they said about him isn't true, but you're hardly likely to get a bad version of him when he's meeting singers and sports stars at a night out with his children.

I think Oedipus fucked his mother. All a bit worrying, really. Par' o' the cuwture, now, Up. Get wiv it.

OliceAlive · 27/06/2024 15:07

There is definitely a type of sycophant who cannot stand for anyone who is not the object of their obsession to get praise.

Have you seen Pulp Fiction? Not exactly modern film these days. MF has prob been used this way at least 50 years. 😂

No. I thought the thread was quite lighthearted until @TheASSociates brought Harry into it.

TheASSociates · 27/06/2024 15:12

Lighthearted? Calling someone a baldy twat?

Yeah right.

IAmATorturedPoet · 27/06/2024 15:12

Watched the podcast last night and I thought it was good fun. Some people would pay good money for that sort of positive PR on a very popular podcast. I believe on this occasion it was neither paid for nor asked for. All good.

It's clear that the Kelce brothers had a great evening, PW and the children had a great evening and the six of them met up after the concert for pics. Good fun was clearly had by all. I think PW is proving to be more popular and likeable than a lot of people thought/expected he would be.

What's with all the sour grapes on here?

SonicTheHodgeheg · 27/06/2024 15:13

I think that if it had gone ok or badly they would have stuck to something polite about the kids who were clearly delighted to be there.

Good PR for the UK is in short supply and it’s great luck that Taylor has had lots of dates here which has definitely made some people happier this summer.

I've seen many a film, but not 'Pulp Fiction', or 'Clockwork Orange', come to think of it. I think I've heard the term used in a perjorative way, too. Have I? Is it like the term 'wicked', which changed its meaning at one point.

Quite Alice

Anyone. Time to let the dogs out into the field to run amok. It is finally cool enough and is starting to drizzle.

And it will be far more entertaining than watching folk trying to take the moral high ground when they are up to their oxters in quicksand.

For clarity, I meant the baldy twat comment since fans of Harry frequently use that and similar phrases. Which is weird because … oh never mind.

It can just mean guy or “cat”. The modifier is what makes it a compliment. Tone makes all the difference so it can definitely be an insult also.

You really should have watched Pulp Fiction. I’m not sure it would be the same experience now, but it’s a huge piece of culture and permanently changed film.
