No-one is suggesting Invictus is anything other than a truly good initiative, but it has become the Meghan and Harry show. And who actually believes that Harry is anything other than the celebrity' 'face' of the games. Do you think he's doing anything other than fronting up when and where he's told?

Yes, I do actually. Last year during the period that I watched the Invictus docuseries and then as much as I could of last year’s games, i read at least 2 veterans’ accounts of Harry spending time with them away from the games.

The Pat Tillman award isn’t meant to be awarded to an organisation afaik. I believe Harry will emphasise Invictus in his speech. It would be nice to have someone unsung from Invictus receiving the medal but unfortunately famous people getting awards for something is more likely to raise the profile of a charitable organisation. This is unfortunate as I wish people would value the unsung amongst us more than famous people but generally speaking they don’t.

If you’ve watched the whole Heart of Invictus documentary then I’m happy to exchange further views on this, but I sometimes feel I’m debating Invictus and Harry (and Meghan) with people who have only read critical newspaper articles, sm and seen highlights of games.

Invictus is awesome and I will be watching in 2025. I got quite tearful about it last time. In any generation to create something new and long lasting that will grow takes so much effort. ESPN have played a blinder with their support of the initiative through Charles’s second son Haz. History making stuff.

Invictus is indeed awesome.

But many involved with it are a bit tired of it being the Haz and Mug show.

It is so much more than that.

Dissenting voices can be found in all organisations. It is normal. The majority do not feel that way. A patron like Haz is a real gift.

Not everyone likes him. But we value him. If anyone can get the ball over the line to raise Invictus’s profile he can. It’s what is needed.

Mug? No, Megs is solid. A few bumps along the way but she is a great draw for support too.

Who is “we”? Are you part of the Invictus organization then?

The majority of the Armed Forces certainly feel that way.

And mug? Not Meghan. Though interesting you came to that conclusion.

  1. Mug - 2.
  2. INFORMAL
make faces, especially silly or exaggerated ones, before an audience or a camera.
  1. "he mugged for the camera"

No one disputes that Invictus is a fantastic idea. However Harry didn’t create it as others have said. He’s been instrumental in promoting it, but he hasn’t done the work or even had the original idea. In the last few years it’s become a vehicle for Meghan to promote herself and lost the focus on the veterans. This award ceremony was a nonsense. The pair of them rudely left as soon as Harry grabbed the award, which he didn’t deserve. She is only there for clicks, doesn’t care for anything else.

Very well put

Fortunately Invictus is very far from being the only organisation to support veterans and equally far from being alone in RF support, so it's heatening to know that the good work continues elsewhere too

Created by the Royal Foundation, Catherine and William were integral from its inception. Ed Lane Fox and the 2012 Olympic committee the brains behind it all - the real unsung heroes of Invictus.
