The South Park episode was one of the most accurate depictions of Harry and his wife that have been produced. McAfee’s assessment was spot on.

When it was first announced that Harry was getting this award he said it was for Invictus. I think his speech at the awards will reflect this.

And did it mention the world wide participation in the Invictus programmes and the games, by veterans and veterans’s families, as well their countries’ militaries and governments? The stuff that is relevant to this award.

McAfee is not informed on the subject of invictus or the Games. He said so himself.

I have read that famous people and celebrities take it as compliment when they have an episode of South Park focussed on them. Although I doubt the Royal Family episodes felt like much of a compliment as it can get pretty base. It’s equally awful about everyone. I don’t like the show. But I realize many other people do, so I just looked it up. Averages 3.5 million viewers each episode, mostly males in the 18- 24 age group.

I don't know what else he would be doing to fill his time. Even that isn't exactly full time and seems to have morphed into a Meghan fashion show.
Imagine someone at the helm who could really engage with it, promote it - and make it about the veterans, not themselves.

No-one is suggesting Invictus is anything other than a truly good initiative, but it has become the Meghan and Harry show. And who actually believes that Harry is anything other than the celebrity' 'face' of the games. Do you think he's doing anything other than fronting up when and where he's told?

He's said the award is for Invictus. It would have been a good idea if he'd said that to the committee and asked them to make the award to Invictus generally or perhaps to one of the unsung people who do the actual work.

Yes, I do actually. Last year during the period that I watched the Invictus docuseries and then as much as I could of last year’s games, i read at least 2 veterans’ accounts of Harry spending time with them away from the games.

The Pat Tillman award isn’t meant to be awarded to an organisation afaik. I believe Harry will emphasise Invictus in his speech. It would be nice to have someone unsung from Invictus receiving the medal but unfortunately famous people getting awards for something is more likely to raise the profile of a charitable organisation. This is unfortunate as I wish people would value the unsung amongst us more than famous people but generally speaking they don’t.

If you’ve watched the whole Heart of Invictus documentary then I’m happy to exchange further views on this, but I sometimes feel I’m debating Invictus and Harry (and Meghan) with people who have only read critical newspaper articles, sm and seen highlights of games.

Harry had it totally in his power to make sure that happened.

Harry is a famous figure and it has already been established that his pulling power has set INVICTUS on a global pathway. His high profile will continue to do so. As I am quite old and have followed Harry and William since my youth I have seen thousands of pictures of him (and William) getting stuck in. It has been wonderful to see the reality of what they both do. Harry has always done more as a spare though and a singleton. Sadly, a few spoil it for him but he is strong enough to weather the faux outrage. His PR people know what they are doing. Unlike the sycophants in suits who still think the UK is a nation that is somehow superior despite the centuries of 🩸spilled in the names of Kings and Queens.

Of course Meghan has become involved. She supports him. Seems biased opinion of her will always come to the fore for some people.
