A Regency Mumsnet would have had the claque all chattering about the vile impudence of Mr Gilray and his foul scurrilous cartoons and how wonderful William was and that his long absences in Germany would help unite the 2 countries, and all the talk about "Mrs Jordan" was a nonsense. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 18/06/2024 08:17

Would it? 🙄

My waking thought - I thought I should share !

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 18/06/2024 08:21

Well I have weird waking thoughts but constructing a wholly fictional scenario around Gillray cartoons and sharing them with the world wouldn't occur to me. Perhaps unlike you I'm just too modest and don't assume everyone wants the benefit of my random wamblings.

That's me told. But I do.... (wants the benefit of your random wamblings.) !

LaMarschallin · 18/06/2024 08:24

how wonderful William was and that his long absences in Germany would help unite the 2 countries, and all the talk about "Mrs Jordan" was a nonsense.

So, what is the equivalence of that William's "long absences in Germany" and "Mrs Jordan" with today's William?
Sticking a French tag on something doesn't make it true.
Btw, do you often wake up thinking about MN and/or the RF? If so, have you decided who you're going to be today?

CurlewKate · 18/06/2024 08:26

@It's only "open to interpretation" from those with a certain kind of mindset."

As a thought experiment, pretend you don't know who they are. Pretend you're in an art appreciation class.

And, even if it is only those with a "certain kind of mindset" surely that's what you hire PR experts for? To protect yourself from people like that?

Serenster · 18/06/2024 08:31

Actually PR advisers recognise, quite rightly, that there is little to be done about people who are fundamentally opposed to your brand, and that your best messaging strategy is to work with those amenable to the message.

Also known as 'don't try and nail jelly to the wall and expect it to stick.' A bit like responding to some posters on here and expecting a sane response.

Serenster · 18/06/2024 08:33

They will also look for something appealing to a broad market - hence we’re unlikely to see more photos like this.

Neither poster was a fan of the royals !
You're pining for something that never existed.

No idea why you quoted my post since your reply had nothing to do with it.
Although, I remember that things sometimes go very wrong with your posts when you're "trying to do two jobs at once".
Please feel free not to reply to/@ me when your post has nothing to do with me.

That's the point they would have been allies and we could have had a respectful but spirited debate. You are many I am few and you see off most irritants on this open free speech forum so I would be fighting a losing battle. I am certain a few of you may well have awards or have visited the Palace in some respect so you are invested so to speak. Unlike me who is just wasting time and there is my mum and she's not wrong. Which actually has me welling up so there was a point after all. I wish you all a good day and adieu.

Indeed.

You like using French so I'm sure you'll understand if I say that I suspect you mean "au revoir".

Actually looking at that picture again, he's probably saying "we own all this kids"

What’s happened to his leg 🤔😂

Possibly a nod to Angelina Jolie’s famous leg?

Anyone else getting very fed up of these AI generated stream of consciousness posts?

It's only "open to interpretation" from those with a certain kind of mindset. It wouldn't matter what the composition of the picture was.
It's the Wales family, so it has to be ripped apart.
Don't blame KP for the wilder end of Sussex fandom.

Well quite.

About as surprising as finding ham in a ham sandwich.

Uricon2 · 18/06/2024 08:58

Although I'm a bit reluctant to continue the theme, I do think James Gillray would have had an absolute field day with one member of the RF. However, his name isn't William.

I do wonder why disagreeing with someone is regarded as "seeing them off".

Oh God, yes.
Tedious and meaningless.
And the names they are credited to can't remember what they're supposed to have said from one post to the next.

Aye.

I think that you and LaMarschallin will be more than aware of how tedious I find it.

Of course I take to amusing myself with a bit of it. Just me though. In the form of la petite nomchanges.

Not many would want to know my ramblings. And the ones I feel would be infinitely entertaining to share might constitute a ban.

Sadly I have no jelly to nail to a wall.

I’m happy to pin a tail on some donkeys though.
