Nor was some innocent woman besmirched and her young daughter's paternity questioned.

BadPennyForeverTurningUp · 17/06/2024 19:30

Well quite isolde

Funny that.

And while we are at it, no one ever said that M’s spouse had battered her and left her in a coma when she (so very sensibly in my opinion) kept a low profile after the shitstorm of Spare.

Nor did they say H was getting busy with anyone while she was not to be seen.

Absolutely. The Sussexes are judged on their words and actions, at least on these boards. The Wales's, on a pile of made up crap.

I don’t care. Who would care this much if they weren’t royal? Why does anyone care about the royal family? They bring in tourism but apart from that? I just don’t get it

Loving your username - just scrolling along at the moment my card having been marked but couldn't let your lovely username go unremarked. 💐You're right of course - that said the crowd yesterday minus Republic of course were pretty thin and mostly tourists I would hazard a guess. Must have been the shocking weather.

Back to the OP I can well imagine the late Queen being horrified that a picture would be put out deliberately of their rears and she would have been right. It's literally arse about face.

This came up in my YT feed which I had never seen before - a nightmare sequence from the Crown. Very well done. I was one of the few in Downing Street waving the flags on that auspicious day. I worked in 1 Vic St next to the Private Office odfthe SoS and the call went out for volunteers to go to Downing Street and wave handed out flags. What a glorious day that was.

I actually don't think that the late Queen would have given a flying, but immaterial as she is no longer with us and Charles is in charge.

I don’t understand what you’re trying to say but I have the feeling it isn’t good.
You still haven’t explained to me why I should care about the royal family or why you do particularly. Now I want to know why you have made yourself sound posh

You wouldn't be the first. I have a degree in word saladery. Posh I am not and I'm no fan either isn't that clear from my posts ?

BadPennyForeverTurningUp · 17/06/2024 20:25

One could debate the degree part.

I think not.

I suspect I would not be alone.

No

IsoldeWagner · 17/06/2024 20:34

@TheFirmBiscuit , you have absolutely no idea what the late Queen would have made of that picture. It's such a shame that a lovely family image has had these negative responses on here. A happy family image, after a fairly stressful six months. I don't know why it's been so picked apart.
We're used to seeing rear images of the Sussexes, there have been several posted, so I have no idea why it's acceptable for them but not others.

BadPennyForeverTurningUp · 17/06/2024 20:36

I doubt you’ll get the answer.

And if you do it will be word compost.

It's my jaundiced opinion which I am entitled to as are you. The Queen was nothing if not a traditionalist indeed she almost defined the word. She understood the magic pixie dust of the Monarchy was in peerless service, never complain ,never explain and higlighting the regal in royal. She would never have done that because she would have thought it was plainly wrong as would have my dear mum. But that was different age and I'm probably just making hay out of straws.

As an aside MN is an open forum lightly moderated and I'm afraid you will have to tolerate dissident voices. I'm banned and rightly so from the Reddits for the Royal Family and it's sinister side kick StMeghanMarkle for merely debating in another sub with a poster who is a mod there who must have gone back noticed I had joined but never posted and banned me nevertheless. If you want an echo chamber then that's your place.

'You're right of course - that said the crowd yesterday minus Republic of course were pretty thin and mostly tourists I would hazard a guess. Must have been the shocking weather.'

You're wrong, of course. Despite the awful weather, the photographic evidence (posted on threads on here - you surely didn't miss it....) shows the mall was a heaving sea of people, there to see the pomp and ceremony and the rf and no doubt wishing them well, obviously with the exception of the tiny but vocal Republican contingent. There were probably tourists in the throng, but as republicans will tell you, the tourist draw of the rf is grossly overstated. So the thousands must have been home grown supporters. Nice to see.

IsoldeWagner · 17/06/2024 20:53

@TheFirmBiscuit disagreeing with you does not mean that I don't "tolerate dissident voices" - you're not a dissident, we just disagree. It's a discussion forum. Plus, I have never demonstrated intolerance. Just a difference of opinion.
In my opinion (my dissident voice) you have no idea what QEII thought. About anything. She was an oyster.
I have no idea what's happened to you on Reddit. I'm not sure why that's relevant.
My point about the photos was the one I really wanted to make.

JamieFraserSporran · 17/06/2024 21:11

Life has moved on. The Queen was right for her time and place. Don't we always see all the reformers wanting a streamlined monarchy? A more modern one? This is a new era and the times they are a changing. We're seeing a new Royal Family and they are doing a great job in the face of adversity. It just sticks in the gullets of those full of bile. Every little thing is jumped on. I would hate to have such vile thoughts in my head.

You don’t know that at all.

I imagine you would have thought QEII to be too traditionalist and regal to do a skit with Daniel Craig or an animated piece with Paddington Bear, but she did.

I’ve no idea about your mum.

BadPennyForeverTurningUp · 17/06/2024 21:21

You did something.

But you didn’t answer.

You just said that your opinion differed and that your opinion was jaundiced.

Both of which were apparent anyway.

Being banned from elsewhere is of no consequence. No one wants a mn echo chamber - just a considered response.

Unfortunately my life is too short to allow myself to be so very bored by nonsense answers.

myrtleWilson · 17/06/2024 21:21

Gosh @TheFirmBiscuit you are Dominic Cummings level of a rule smasher aren't you - banned on Reddit and sock puppeting on here - what will you be doing next?!

Probably leaving as the agressive pile-ons are not my thing nor are in keeping with the spirit of the site. But then maybe not, just ignore me if you don't like my views. My Reddit was banned by proxy by some ardent royalist on another sub with whom I argued politely.Quite sinister and quite deranged but there you are.
