There is actually a really big seal colony at Blakeney, a few miles from Holkham beach/Sandringham.

I doubt they are rehearsing a quick rendition of "I'm just wild about Harry", though.

Edited to add that they are standing in the low, uneven dunes directly behind the beach, in the futile hope that if it is said often enough it might be believed, because true.

I don't think it's 'picky' to fail to see the point in a photograph for press release that, frankly, could be of anyone, because no faces are visible. I'm not saying that I think it's faked, just that it's pointless (for the purpose intended).

The obvious way to have remedied this would have been for them to turn round - losing none of the pleasant scenery, but making the picture identifiable.

It's identifiable because the family have identified themselves.

it was a point to another. A picky one (point) if you will.

They said they couldn’t identify William and his children because no faces were shown.

The photo I posted could be any kids and any man by the same argument.

But we know it is H&M because they released the photo of themselves.

Or is it only not picky and a valid point if it involves William?

For me, I’m happy to take them for the photos celebrating loving families.l that they are.

But if folk are going to get picky, then both should be held to the same scrutiny.

Seems to be a bit of sensitivity about the word "random" there. In case there is any doubt, I'm sure we all know that it is of Harry, Meghan and their children. The same way we all know that the Fathers Day pic is of William, Kate and theirs.

Meghan is visible in profile on the picture below, just about. Otherwise it wouldn't be possible to tell who they are.

I've genuinely got no idea how photos appear on social media, other than Mumsnet. If it had some kind of caption, it would be clear - if it was just in a gallery of pictures, possibly not.

There are three photos on here of the Sussexes. In each one they have their backs to the camera.

Is it disrespectful? Can people not work out who they are?

I don't know what their Instagram is like, so I can't answer - if it has photos of numerous friends and family, it might be hard to pick out who is who if photos don't show faces, especially if you're vague on the age/size of their children.

But you said - just about (see Meghan).

To me, she could be any random woman from that picture.

And only identifiable because we know they released it.

Most, if not all, took it as a lovely picture of the Sussexes.

When it was released I don’t think anyone said ‘well that is all wrong - it could be anyone’.

I get that it is fine to be critical. Who isn’t?

But it helps to have some critical thinking behind criticism too.

The official photo of the Wales family was clearly identified as such.

And while we are at it, no one ever said that M’s spouse had battered her and left her in a coma when she (so very sensibly in my opinion) kept a low profile after the shitstorm of Spare.

Nor did they say H was getting busy with anyone while she was not to be seen.
