Kate looks slimmer than her wedding day.

I'm excluding her being ill. Generally over the last 13 years she has decided to be extra extra small.

She is not a young woman, she has not ridden in a military parade and is not used to it. It’s not quite the same as hacking in the park. It’s quite acceptable that she is in the carriage. Stop making a mountain out of a molehill. The Princess of Wales has never has ridden in the parade either, probably for similar reasons

I think Kate looks amazing.
I also think it’s quite a wise decision to be seen today as the focus is on many things and she’s just present in the background.

Camilla has hunted her forebears? That's a new accusation against her! Just when you think there's nothing more the woman can be vilified for.

@DedicatedCakeEater my phrasing was poor - I didn't mean she was inherently an uncertain rider but that she may not feel confident (for a host of reasons) or want to ride in the parade - and that having a rider who wasn't wholly confident because of pain or anything wouldn't be ideal for parade or rider!

Clearly neglecting her aftbears, too.

Just like her sister in law, then. They are grown women and choose to take care of themselves and their appearance in the way they see fit. I'm sure.

Some twitchy horses there

There has been some barrel scraping over the last few weeks but criticising an elderly woman for not riding a horse has to win some kind of prize.

When Catherine and Camilla were announced as Colonels of the Irish and Grenadier guards it was stated that they wouldn't be wearing uniform as the other royal colonels do in their roles. They were both in the stage last year when the King rode but obviously circumstances have changed.

Perhaps Charles wanted his wife by his side n the carriage Though expecting someone in their late 70s to ride a horse in a parade like this is ridiculous. They have both been standing for a fair while now and Charles looks a bit cold and tired now. Time for a warm cuppa and a warm up inside I think.

I'm old enough to remember when the rag and bone men used to come around with a shire horse drawn cart. Huge and absolutely beautiful creatures.

The patriarchal world is very much out of date. It needs to change and become 21st century not something it became 2 million years ago.

If someone isn't up to sitting on a horse then they shouldn't be forced to do so. I'm sure the last thing any attending medics want is to have to deal with a queen who has fallen off a horse. There is probably an ambulance on standby praying for no accidents.

I find it sad that personalities and characters are forecast for primary aged children based on tiny glimpses of their behaviour during very boring ceremonies. George is ‘serious’ , Charlotte ‘bossy’ and Louis ‘cheeky’.
I don’t agree with the RF or parading the kids out and don’t believe for a minute the kids enjoy these things and wouldn’t prefer to be playing sports with their friends
