Inspired by @Ladypenelopeforever ‘s post.

I find that William is photogenic and this is one of the best photos (albeit not candid) of him in a while.

What do you see? For me, I see humour about his lips and the faraway look in his eyes has a touch of sadness. Overall, the Prince has gravitas, he does not need the red folder to signal that. There is also a reddish blush to his skin. Either he caught the sun during the D Day commemoration or he is blushing for some reason

Let us see if we can keep comments positive, friendly and on topic this time. One can hope. 🙏

I think he looks like Stephen Kinnock in that photo

NotQuiteHere · 13/06/2024 13:04

You would probably get good marks for a description task in GCSE English exam.

Wtf - it's a middle aged balding bloke in an expensive suit.

🤣🤣

Gingerkittykat · 13/06/2024 13:13

He has that gaze where he looks mildly constipated!

positivewings · 13/06/2024 13:16

Oh ffs it's a pitcher you are reading way to much about the royals.
However hers a pic of a cat I'm seeing fur with a distanced gaze with a pink nose 😂

I think he looks great. Looking forward to seeing him and Princess Catherine together soon, too.

Howbizarre22 · 13/06/2024 13:23

I like him. This thread was always going to draw horrible comments OP. It’s the internet- where people think they have a free pass to sneer and spew absolute venom over another person because no one can identify them behind their screen! All the comments about his appearance- I bet those posters are no oil paintings themselves to put it politely!
He can’t help the family he was born into, he comes across with integrity, plays the hand he was dealt well. His wife and father are battling serious life threatening illnesses. He seems a doting father. I don’t know what there is to be so cruel about?
So much hate in people- that’s what’s truly ugly.

Uh oh, OP. Good luck. Hope you can bear a thread full of people either insulting you or displaying bitterness about somebody who has more money than they have. Standard Mumsnet.

Mumsnet is full of Marxists so it comes as no surprise.

The thread has gone pretty much the way the OP hoped it would - lots of people denigrating the photo.

'Op you are in the grip of a crush.'

No - the OP is a stirrer judging by previous posts.

Glad you have picked up on this, the OP knows exactly what they are doing they are no Prince William fan for sure, the other Prince of Montecito though, absolutely!

I can't think of another man in the public eye for whom losing his hair buggered up his looks in such a dramatic fashion. Some fellas can carry it off, but not him.

Something happened to his jawline too, not sure what.

Uricon2 · 13/06/2024 13:32

If I had to analyse it, I'd say he looks a bit tired, which is hardly surprising after the wretched year he must have had so far, privilege and all.

I think the mocking "balding" comments that he attracts from some are off, TBH. It is hardly something he has any control over and better to embrace it as he has than transplants that don't work properly (etc)

Full admission: I come from a family where most of the men start losing their hair by 20 and feel a bit protective!

CracklingLogsGalore · 13/06/2024 13:35

Grin ever the romantic OP?

Yes, the same could be said for the people constantly sniping about Harry!

Which regular posters on here who are openly critical of Harry (of which I am one) start faux fawning threads about him to instigate a pile on of unpleasant comments under the guise of being a fan when they are in fact the complete opposite? The OP is a regular poster and is very much not a Prince William fan, the initial post is totally disingenuous and has been designed to get the unpleasant responses here.

That’s actually quite an expression. I (really!) am seeing quiet judgment, faint concern, interest, but a tension in the muscles that suggests a readiness to bolt.

Something happened to his jawline too, not sure what.

Oh please.

He’s in his forties and never signed up as a model. He looks perfectly normal for a man his age in a suit.

ExitChasedByAPolarBear · 13/06/2024 07:51

I never understood why he didn’t get any treatment when it’s clearly obvious that male pattern baldness is hereditary. At the time, it was seen as a positive thing and was considered refreshing because he just shaved his head. But I think that hair makes a big difference especially when it shapes one’s face.

Well you more or less said it yourself. Anti-bald sentiment thankfully wasn't prevalent in the 2000s when William started losing his hair. There is far more baldness hatred around these days on this website for some reason, as well as normalisation of cosmetic treatments which shouldn't be regarded in any way as a positive trend. Back in those days it was considered weird and vain for a man to undergo cosmetic hair treatments, even if he was a celebrity.
I agree with those who say he would look better if he shaved his head. But anyone calling him average-looking needs to get real. He's 42 in a week or so. Do you have any idea of what the average British 42-year-old man looks like?! William is VERY handsome for a man his age.

Calliopespa · 13/06/2024 14:03

I actually respect him for not faffing round with balding treatments.

He’s got a job to do; he’s not trying to seduce anyone.

MuscariFan · 13/06/2024 14:35

SloaneStreetVandal · 13/06/2024 11:25

Yes, he suits it.

I think this look would work 👇 (but not a number 0 buzz, a number 1 would be better - give him a flattering shadow on his head).

I think he's looking increasingly handsome as he ages, something about the way he carries himself. I'd be well on board with this beard too. 😆

No idea why anyone thinks he (or anyone else) should have to mess about with hair transplants. Only ever ends up looking worse, apart from anything else.

NameChangeBilly · 13/06/2024 14:43

I also think he's quite good looking, and he's got a proper nice lithe build too.

The OP started this thread in order to generate negative comments.

I see a strong resemblance to the last Czar of Russia.
