Really? How the feckin’ hell does a rabid tabloid know what Chuck thinks about this. Nice chats over video away from the courtiers and listening ears of the royal ‘servants’ is exactly what is needed. I hope they are enjoying the private time emensley!

King 'not content' with seeing Archie and Lilibet over video calls

King Charles is 'not content' with just seeing Harry and Meghan Markle's children, Archie and Lilibet, over video calls, royal sources have revealed.

William publicly said Charles rarely saw his children.

Vespanest · 11/06/2024 21:53

I can see a change of perspective for Harry and Meghan, with two adults who can end family relationships so easily there will be the fear of the exact thing happening to them. If family is a commodity why shouldn’t Archie or lilibet follow the family business. Harry and Meghan would like to control the narrative, they cannot do that if when their children come of age seek out the wider family.

Yeah, I imagine Charles isn’t grandfather of the year, don’t think he is doing any babysitting or hanging out with the grandkids in the way I would imagine Michael Midldleton does. I just can’t see him pining for any time with his expat grandkids, I think it’s a case of ‘it is what it is’.

I think those puff pieces are put out by the Sussexes in an effort to portray a relationship that really isn’t there and not as relevant as they would like it to be, in the same way Meghan appears to have portrayed a father / daughter relationship in The Tig which now appears to be pretty much fabricated.

Maybe so ( although i don’t recall him saying that) but I remember Louis dashing over to sit on Grandpa’s knee at the Jubilee Concert and seeing other photos where the Wales children were very relaxed with Charles and Camilla.

MyQuaintDog · 11/06/2024 23:04

And yet Camilla spends a lot of time at Ray Mills house as Charles does not like the noise of small children.

AuroraCake · 11/06/2024 23:07

Her grandchildren aren’t small. Teens or pre teens. Family relations have broken down. Is what it is.

The youngest of her grandchildren from her previous marriage is 13. Hardly small children. I think she just wants to see her own grandchildren separately as they have a different shared history to that of her and Charles. Quite normal and understandable

As to William saying Charles doesn’t see his grandchildren, I think he did say that was previously the case but I get the impression that Charles took this on board and has tried to change. William and Charles seem to have grown closer of late anyway 🤷‍♀️

MaturingCheeseball · 12/06/2024 09:08

If there were really video calls the Sussexes would make sure we knew about them and no doubt there would be some covert recording/screenshots.

Abouttimeforanamechange · 12/06/2024 09:54

Well, no, I don't imagine he does do any 'babysitting' (for children who aren't babies). It's not as if he's retired with time on his hands, is it? Or on the spot, with the Waleses at Windsor and him at Clarence House or Highgrove, when he's not travelling to other parts of the country.

….positivity from Australia, about time.

“Speaking on the Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered podcast, royal correspondent Katie Nicholl revealed a source has told her the Sussexes are "tight as a family unit".

She further added Prince Harry himself is “really happy”.

“Harry’s living a wonderful life and a life he’s always wanted to live," she said.

“And I thought that’s really wonderful to hear – I’m really pleased to hear that." “

Source reveals how Harry is managing in the US

Prince Harry is said to be “very content” with his life in California after he and wife Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in the United Kingdom for a more private life four years ago.

@DingDingaling so despite Harry having a tight inner circle, someone is still talking about the private lives of Harry and Meghan, someone close enough to the interactions in their marriage, can’t be blamed on the royal family for this breach of privacy. Or this is yet more “source” bullshit or a PR push. How else do we know the private inner feelings of Harry.

What time is that then? In between the red boxes, the Kings Trust business, preparing for engagements and chemo appointments. Would you have time on your hands?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 13/06/2024 10:05

“Harry’s living a wonderful life and a life he’s always wanted to live," she said

What, in and out of court and moaning that he doesn't have the security that he's entitled to, rinse and repeat at every available opportunity?

Sounds to me like someone trying hard to convince himself as much as other people.

The King is the same age as my DH and I can assure you that DH couldn’t do half of what KC does and DH doesn’t have cancer or a toxic son.
Yes we know he has staff but he still has a lot to do .

BemusedAmerican · 13/06/2024 10:33

Also, he still needs to keep away from kids during chemo. I work around a lot of kids and I pick up everything from them. Even wearing a mask in the winter doesn't help.

CurlewKate · 13/06/2024 16:30

@Mylovelygreendress How many hours a day does he work?

It would be perfectly understandable if he chose to do no work at all while he's having cancer treatment- but the suggestion is that he has no spare time because of work. So how many hours does he work?

CurlewKate · 13/06/2024 16:39

Same question to you,@Mylovelygreendress . How many hours does the King work?

CurlewKate · 13/06/2024 16:39

Sorry- my last post was to @BlueParrotRedParrot.

BlueParrotRedParrot · 13/06/2024 16:47

I'm not seeking to prove the man is lazy, @CurlewKate . That's you. In between being a seemingly hands on figure in the Kings Trust (and a reputed workaholic when it comes to this project), a seemingly hands on head of state who will be poring over what comes to him through the government boxes (have you read many bills/statutes/government paperwork? Laborious stuff to read through and understand), a man who seems to want to thoroughly prepare for his public engagements judging by how polished he is when conducting them, a man who carries out a good quantity of public engagements all over the country and a man undergoing serious and exhausting medical treatment, I imagine - note imagine - there's not a whole lot of downtime, not anything more than most people get at his age, anyway. I'll ask you again: what makes you think he has a lot of time on his hands?

BlueParrotRedParrot · 13/06/2024 16:56

Take it from Prince Harry if you don't believe me @CurlewKate :

But King Charles is no stranger to early morning starts and extremely late finishes, with Prince Harry once revealing in a 2018 documentary that his father needed to “slow down” explaining he “falls asleep on his notes” from working too hard.

I remember the 2018 documentary in which Harry paid tribute to his father's work and achievements.
Quite extraordinary.

CurlewKate · 13/06/2024 17:24

@BlueParrotRedParrot have you read many bills/statutes/government paperwork? Laborious stuff to read through and understand). Loads actually-you picked the wrong woman!
