I don’t really blame her for changing her engagement ring, Harry designed it didn’t he so I presume he presented it to her with no input from her, I remember thinking if I was Meghan I would not be impressed with that ring at all! It looked a very dated design, she has a more modern and contemporary style. I also thought the two diamonds either side were too small and it looked unbalanced, but I’m not a fan of three in a row rings anyway, personally out of all the ‘Royal’ rings I would have picked Pippa’s.

I agree but obviously it’s iconic and it was Diana’s most famous piece of jewellery I’m sure Meghan would have loved that on her finger! the ring Harry gave her looks like a damp squib in comparison.

It does, but my feeling is that if Harry gave here the ring with love, it’s a bit sad to change it. I know Diana’s ring was iconic, but I can’t help but think that even if Meghan had hated that ring she would never have changed it because it was Diana’s and she wants to be Diana 2. I suppose I mean that an engagement ring should be more sentimental than another piece of jewellery that you adapt to your taste.

I just googled it and it’s true that both Kate and Meghan were asked by the palace to dress like Diana according to Omid Scobie (Endgame). Make of that what you will.

But some of the outfits both Kate and Meghan wear/wore seem Diana inspired. What comes to mind for me is Kate’s red dress on the hospital steps after giving birth to one of her children (George?) Meghan’s green outfit - dress and coat - while pregnant with Archie, Kate in that black and white polka dot dress with hat for the races. I’m sure there would be more of both of them.

Why would the palace want to hark back to Diana? She wasn’t popular with them.

I think the problem is when a man chooses a ring you don’t like and you are stuck with that ring on your finger forever! I personally wouldn’t like that and would have to change it so I can see where Meghan is coming from particularly as I really dislike her ring! I agree with you absolutely that even if Meghan had hated Diana’s ring it would never be off her finger!
