Report anything you think is dodgy, @MummyJ12 . It’s in MNHQ’s interest to stop these posters taking over. They stifle legitimate discussion. I must say the tone of these threads has settled considerably in recent weeks, there are positive threads for Meghan supporters so everyone has a space to voice their thoughts.

Babybreath · 17/05/2024 08:13

Why on earth did HQ refuse to allow the second thread about SS ?

MummyJ12 · 17/05/2024 08:20

They said it was goady. Which seems unfair, not true and more than a little ironic!

MummyJ12 · 17/05/2024 08:27

I will, thanks @Ohpleeeease
I just take people as being on here in good faith and would never want to be one of those posters that behave like the thread police and take up HQ’s time. But I do need to be a bit more on my guard. Yesterday taught me that.

MaturingCheeseball · 17/05/2024 08:52

I think Kate’s “disappearance” was the Meghan Mob’s finest hour. Oh, how they were loving it. Ironically their cruelty forced her into doing that broadcast and that caused (most of) them to feel they had to stfu.

That Christopher Bouzy person trying to get it going again - what a loser. I bet he’s a wimpy little coward in real life.

I still don’t understand official support for M&H (eg Nigeria, Newsome). Mind you I suppose it was the same with Edward and Wallis - it just wasn’t well known back then what they got up to.

Thedom · 17/05/2024 09:02

He was on a roll there for a few weeks, with all his vicious crap being repeatedly retweeted ad nauseam by his fans, I think he is trying to recreate his very brief moment of infamy.

Wonder how all the court cases he threatened are going? He blows so much hot hair.

MrsLeonFarrell · 17/05/2024 09:05

I believe that the reason the Royal family aren't "doing anything" about Meghan and Harry is because they don't need to. Celebrities do that sort of visit all the time, minus the anthem of course but I don't think that was their choice they looked uncomfortable. Celebrities and working royals are entirely different, and only the latter is seen as having what Newscast called the other day "soft power".

The only people getting cross about it being quasi royal are the media and they are trying to stir up trouble for clicks. Royalty exist by consent, I think it's pretty clear that no one with actual power thinks the Sussexes have it. If they want to accept invitations from regimes wanting to use them that is their choice, but it doesn't make them different from any other celebrity who visits charities and places to raise awareness.

MummyJ12 · 17/05/2024 09:22

I think some people (me!) are less bothered about where they go and more bothered about the company they keep @MrsLeonFarrell I think the Royal Family need to be looking into certain individuals and should absolutely be taking steps to safeguard themselves from the sinister stuff that is going on and is being advocated by the Sussexes.

There was quite a lot of malicious reporting not so long ago but that cohort of posters is thankfully absent. Think of it as Neighbourhood Watch - keeping the place nice for the community.

I agree that they need to distance themselves from Bouzy and the members of the Sussex Squad who are vile online. As social media and the press become more aware of the nastier Squad members this is going to reflect badly on them.

The National Anthem wouldn’t have been played for a visiting celebrity. The Nigerians clearly thought they were getting a royal visit, or at least they wanted to make it look like one.

I agree with you. But I thought that both Meghan and Harry looked uncomfortable at that point which I thought indicated that it wasn't their choice. I hope that they learn from this and avoid such an impression in the future. They are in an unusual position, and I think are a bit naive politically, they will make mistakes and be used by people until they wise up. I think they have the potential to do good with their charities and I hope they can move forward in that.

Agreed. It hasn’t been reported at all in the New York Times, for example, where even the unveiling of Charles’ portrait got a mention.

peanutbuttertoasty · 17/05/2024 09:48

They are starting to look like a national security risk IMO. Brainless political pawns courting the world’s spurious leaders for cash and adoration. Sleazy in the extreme.

And it seems the Save the Children gig was organised by Misan Harriman who is a global ambassador for STC. Apparently he's their photographer who accompanied them on the tour. I wonder why STC felt the need to put out a statement clarifying how their involvement came about. 🤔

Because it looked very bizarre to the world for two people who quit their royal duties to suddenly appear to be doing royal
duties. That’s why.

I suppose there's only so often folk can name change in attempts to hide very identifiable posting styles, and doubtless Kate's diagnosis was the spur for them to leave for somewhere more to their taste

Going back to "the tour" though, I was never sure it really changed much if some silly people wanted to prop up their dubious ambitions by using a pair like this. Yes the media will spin nonsense for clicks, but since H&M represent none but themselves does it really matter?

They are only 'in an unusual position' because they have chosen to do quasi royal tours and attempted to set up a pseudo royal court. Being a non working royal isn't in itself that unusual. There are lots of them in various monarchies, some living privately in America. None, to the best of my knowledge, has a fake royal 'office' or goes on 'tours' of distant countries in a manner very obviously designed to imitate royal tours.

Harry and Meghan have chosen to put themselves in this situation, and neither is intelligent or astute enough to know how to manage it.

User1546 · 17/05/2024 10:43

Yes. If you analyze deletion patterns then there are mods brought in about 12 months ago who have craftily tipped it into squaddie sympathy territory.

I agree they have put themselves in this position, as I said they come across as really politically naive. But I don't think they are dangerous because unlike the Duke of Windsor they don't seem to me to be actively working against the UK. If the press could just drop the quasi royal rubbish and treat them like the celebrities they are I think everything would calm down.

I don’t think they care what they do so long as they get publicity /money. Honestly don’t think they have any moral compass.
